Yes—Samsung Galaxy phones running One UI 9.0 (Android 17) are beginning to work with Googlebook’s Better Together features. Google says the staged rollout includes Continue On, Cast My Apps, Quick Access and Notification Sync. The update is not guaranteed to appear immediately on every eligible phone, and Google has not published a model-by-model or region-by-region compatibility list.
What the update adds
Google’s October 2026 announcement says Better Together support is arriving for Samsung phones running One UI 9.0, based on Android 17. The announcement names four features:
- Continue On: Continue supported activity between devices. Google also lists activity settings for Tasks, Apps, Notifications, and Files & media sharing.
- Cast My Apps
- Quick Access
- Notification Sync
Google has not established that every Galaxy model is compatible, nor does the announcement provide a region-by-region list. Treat Android 17 and One UI 9.0 as the stated software requirement, not as proof that every device meeting it will already have the feature.
Why an eligible phone may not show Better Together yet
Google says the rollout is staged through Google Play and background service updates, with updates expected automatically over the next few days from the announcement. That is a rollout estimate, not a guaranteed availability date for an individual phone. Keeping the phone on Wi-Fi and charging can help it receive background updates.

The Google Play services update is intended to reduce first-time setup steps and address timing problems, including a setup QR code that remains on screen after phone setup. If the feature has not appeared, first check the software and services versions below; an eligible phone may simply not have received the staged rollout yet.
Check requirements and set up the connection
- Confirm the phone software. On the Galaxy, open Settings > About phone and check that it runs Android 17 with One UI 9.0. Menu names can vary by device.
- Use the same account on both devices. Sign in to the Googlebook and phone with the same personal Google Account.
- Enable local connectivity. Turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on both devices.
- Allow the rollout to arrive. Keep the devices on Wi-Fi and, if practical, charging while Google Play and background service updates roll out.
- Check service versions. Google lists Google Play services version 26.37 or higher and Cross-device services version 1.0.1346 or higher.
- Review activity permissions. In Cross-device services, check the Continue activity toggles for Tasks, Apps, Notifications, and Files & media sharing.
- Restart both devices. Restart the phone and Googlebook after updates or setting changes, then try setup again.
If pairing fails, check the network
Public, hotel, café, office, and guest Wi-Fi networks may isolate devices from one another, preventing local connections even when both devices show that they are connected to Wi-Fi. Google recommends trying a standard private home Wi-Fi network if pairing stalls. This is a useful diagnostic: if setup works on the private network but not the public one, network isolation may be the cause.

What hands-on reporting confirms—and what it does not
In a report published October 12, 2026, Chrome Unboxed writer Robby Payne says he paired a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 with a Dell XPS Googlebook and got Continue On, Cast My Apps, Quick Access, and Notification Sync working. That is evidence the feature set can work in that specific setup, not a certification of every Galaxy model.

Do not confuse this with older Chromebook Phone Hub features
Google’s 2021 Chromebook Phone Hub article describes older Chromebook functions such as viewing and responding to messages, checking phone battery and signal, turning on a hotspot, locating a phone, and showing recent Chrome tabs. That is background for Chromebook, not a list of the current Googlebook Better Together features. For this Samsung rollout, Google specifically names Continue On, Cast My Apps, Quick Access, and Notification Sync.
