Battery and charging: OPPO has the larger figures
OPPO specifies a 7,000mAh typical battery and charging up to 80W SUPERVOOC for the F31. Its specification page also lists compatibility with lower-power SUPERVOOC, 33W PPS and 13.5W PD charging. Samsung specifies a 5,000mAh typical battery for the M36 (4,905mAh rated minimum) and 25W fast charging. Samsung’s product page says the approximately 25W charger is sold separately.
These figures make the F31 the stronger choice on stated battery capacity and maximum charging rate. They do not show how long either phone lasts between charges or how quickly it charges in everyday use; those outcomes depend on usage and charging conditions.

Display and camera differences
Both phones are advertised with FHD-class resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Samsung identifies the M36’s screen as a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED with Vision Booster. OPPO’s base F31 specification gives a roughly 6.57-inch display with 2372 × 1080 resolution and up to 120Hz, but does not name its panel technology on the page reviewed. The available specifications do not provide a measured brightness or outdoor-readability comparison.
For cameras, Samsung specifies a 50MP OIS triple rear camera and a 13MP front camera, and says both front and rear cameras support 4K recording. OPPO lists a 50MP main and 2MP monochrome rear camera, plus a 16MP front camera. The cited base F31 specification does not state OIS. Megapixel counts and component lists alone cannot determine which phone takes better photos or video.

Software support: Samsung states the longer commitment
Samsung announced six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates for the M36. Its product page cautions that software plans and timing can change, so the commitment is Samsung’s published policy, not a guarantee that every update will arrive on a particular date.

OPPO’s F31 launch material lists two years of OS updates and three years of security updates. It also advertises a separate 72-month fluency certification; that certification is not a six-year OS or security-update promise. On the stated update commitments, Samsung offers the longer support window.

Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the M36 if a lower launch price, Samsung’s named Super AMOLED display, OIS listed for the main camera, or the longer published update commitment matters most to you.
- Consider the F31 if you prioritize the larger stated battery capacity and higher maximum charging rate, and its price premium fits your budget.
- Compare current offers before deciding: the price gaps above use launch prices. A present-day deal could change the value calculation, and the entry-price comparison is not like-for-like because it pairs 6GB RAM with 8GB RAM.
Neither chipset name alone nor the published camera and battery figures establish which phone is faster, takes better pictures, or lasts longer in real use. Those comparisons require independent, comparable testing.
India availability announced at launch
Samsung said M36 availability would begin on 12 July 2025 through Samsung.com, Amazon and selected retail stores. OPPO named its E-store, Flipkart, Amazon and offline stores as F31 series channels, with the base F31 sale scheduled for 27 September 2025. These launch announcements do not confirm current stock.
