The OnePlus N6x 5G is the stronger fit on paper if battery capacity and a 120 Hz display are your priorities; the Samsung Galaxy M36 5G lists a Super AMOLED panel, a higher-resolution multi-camera rear setup, and security updates through 31 December 2031. Neither is a universal winner: the battery-life figures are manufacturer claims, camera specifications do not prove photo quality, and the displayed price gap depends on variant and seller.

Which phone is better for battery life?
The OnePlus N6x has the larger stated capacity: OnePlus lists 7,000 mAh equivalent, compared with Samsung’s 5,000 mAh typical capacity for the M36. That makes the N6x the battery-first choice by specification, but capacity alone cannot establish which phone lasts longer in a particular person’s use.

OnePlus says the N6x can provide up to 2.5 days on one charge based on OnePlus Test Lab results; it also notes that real use varies. Samsung lists up to 17 hours of video playback for the M36 and cautions that actual battery life varies with network, use, and other conditions. These are different manufacturer claims, not like-for-like independent tests, so they should not be used as a direct endurance benchmark.
Which display should you choose?
The M36 is listed with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, while OnePlus specifies a 6.8-inch LCD with a 120 Hz refresh rate for the N6x. Choose based on what matters more to you: the listed panel type on the Samsung or the larger, high-refresh-rate screen specification on the OnePlus. Display size, panel technology, and refresh rate are separate considerations rather than a single measure of quality.

OnePlus notes that the N6x’s actual refresh rate depends on the app interface and game settings. The available specifications do not establish which screen looks better in person.

The comparison listing gives the Galaxy M36 a 50 MP + 8 MP + 2 MP rear-camera setup; OnePlus lists a 13 MP main camera for the N6x. The M36 therefore has more listed rear-camera modules and a higher main-camera megapixel figure in the comparison, but neither camera count nor megapixels alone establish detail, low-light results, color, or overall image quality. The specifications here are not a substitute for comparable camera testing.

Do chipset and memory make one faster?
The comparison listing names Samsung’s Exynos 1380 for the M36, while OnePlus specifies the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex for the N6x. Those chipset names alone do not prove which phone performs better in apps, games, or sustained workloads; no comparable independent benchmark figures are established here.
Check the exact memory and storage configuration before comparing listings. The general comparison result shows the M36 at 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, while it shows N6x options with 4 GB RAM and either 64 GB or 128 GB storage. A price comparison between different storage configurations—or between listings with different RAM—may not reflect equivalent value.

How do durability and software support compare?
OnePlus advertises MIL-STD-810H and IP64 for the N6x, with controlled-test caveats on its product page; these should be read as manufacturer claims, not a guarantee against damage in every situation. The cited comparison details do not state an equivalent M36 durability rating.
Samsung’s India product page lists Galaxy M36 security updates through 31 December 2031. OnePlus product material refers to OxygenOS 16 and variant-specific fluency claims, but those claims are not the same as a formal software-update commitment. The cited OnePlus material does not state a comparable update-support end date.

What is the price difference in India?
Gadgets Now’s general comparison result displayed ₹20,999 for the OnePlus N6x 5G and ₹21,999 for the Samsung Galaxy M36 5G—a ₹1,000 snapshot difference, with the OnePlus lower in that listing. These are third-party displayed prices, not official or guaranteed current prices. Other configuration-specific comparison pages showed different prices, so verify the live seller listing and match RAM and storage before deciding.
Samsung lists the Galaxy M36’s India launch date as 27 June 2025. That date is useful context, but it does not make the comparison-site price snapshot current or establish present availability.
Which one should you buy?
- Choose the OnePlus N6x 5G if the larger stated battery capacity, 120 Hz screen, or advertised IP64 and MIL-STD-810H ratings are the specifications you value most—and you are comfortable checking the exact variant and price.
- Choose the Samsung Galaxy M36 5G if you prefer its listed Super AMOLED display and multi-camera rear setup, or place weight on Samsung’s stated security-update period through 31 December 2031.
- Compare both closely if chipset performance, camera quality, or actual battery endurance will decide your purchase. The specifications and manufacturer claims cited here do not settle those real-world comparisons.
Before ordering, compare the same RAM and storage capacity, confirm the seller’s current price and stock, and check the manufacturer’s product page for updated specifications. Samsung notes that specifications, prices, and availability may change.
