The realme Narzo 100 Lite 5G leads on listed battery capacity and screen refresh rate, while Samsung’s Galaxy M17e 5G offers a higher-resolution rear-camera specification and a clearer long-term software-update commitment. Both are listed with the same processor and Android version, so the specifications alone do not establish which is faster or delivers better photos or battery life. Price listings also conflict, making a like-for-like live check essential.

Product specifications are based on Samsung’s India product page, realme’s India product page, and the side-by-side comparison listing. The shared Dimensity 6300 and Android 16 are a specification match, not evidence that the phones perform identically under load.
Which phone has the better battery and display specifications?
On paper, the realme has the advantage in capacity and refresh rate: its manufacturer lists a 7000mAh battery and a 144Hz display, compared with Samsung’s 6000mAh battery and display refresh rate up to 120Hz. Samsung identifies 5,830mAh as the M17e’s rated minimum battery capacity; the listed 6000mAh figure is not the same measure.
Those numbers do not prove how long either phone lasts or which screen looks or feels better. Runtime depends on factors such as brightness, network conditions, apps and settings; realme says actual battery results may vary. There is no controlled comparison establishing either phone’s battery life or display experience.

How do the cameras compare?
Samsung lists a 50MP + 2MP rear setup and an 8MP front camera. realme lists a 13MP main rear camera, while the comparison listing gives its front camera as 5MP. Samsung’s product page does not list optical image stabilization.
The higher megapixel count is a specification difference, not proof that the M17e takes better photos. No controlled camera comparison is available here, so image quality in different lighting, video performance and processing cannot be ranked from these figures alone.

Which phone has the stronger software-support commitment?
Samsung says the Galaxy M17e 5G will receive six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates, counted from the first global launch date—not from an individual buyer’s purchase. Samsung also says its stated policies may change. The commitment is described on Samsung’s India product page.

What do IP54 and IP64 mean for everyday use?
The listed ratings are IP54 for Samsung and IP64 for realme. They distinguish the manufacturers’ stated dust and water protection levels, but neither rating means a phone is safe to submerge. Samsung specifically warns that resistance may diminish over time and advises against beach or pool use. Treat both devices as electronics that need protection from water exposure rather than relying on an IP rating as permission to get them wet.

Samsung’s official page displayed “Not for sale” when checked, which does not establish a current retail price. Before choosing based on value, compare the same RAM/storage configuration at current sellers and include any offer conditions. The dated listings are available from Smartprix and Gadgets Now.

Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the realme if the larger listed battery capacity or higher maximum refresh rate matters most to you. These are specification advantages, not a guarantee of longer runtime or a better-feeling display.
- Consider the Samsung if the higher-resolution listed rear-camera setup or an explicit OS and security-update commitment is more important. Megapixels alone do not establish photo quality.
- Do not pick a performance winner from the chipset listing: both show the Dimensity 6300, and no controlled head-to-head performance test is established here.
- For either phone, check the exact RAM/storage variant and current seller price before comparing value.
