The Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G is the safer choice if you value a clearly documented software-support commitment and verified specifications. The OnePlus N6 5G looks stronger on paper for screen size, battery capacity and charging speed, but those details come from comparison sites rather than an official OnePlus product page. In India, comparison listings display prices of ₹18,499 for the Samsung and ₹24,999 for the OnePlus—a ₹6,500 gap, not a guaranteed checkout difference.

Which phone is better for your priorities?
Choose the Galaxy M17e 5G for a documented support commitment
Samsung says the M17e will receive six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from its first global launch date. Samsung also says the policy may change. That is the clearest manufacturer-backed distinction in this comparison; the OnePlus update figures are reported by comparison sites and were not confirmed on an official OnePlus page.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Consider the OnePlus N6 5G for the reported battery and charging advantage
Comparison listings give the N6 an 8000mAh battery and 45W charging, compared with the M17e’s 6000mAh battery and reported 25W charging. Those numbers favor the N6 for battery capacity and charging speed on paper. They do not establish how long either phone lasts in real use or how quickly it charges under matched conditions; no comparable independent battery test was verified.

Do not pick a performance winner from processor names alone
The listed chips are the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 for Samsung and Dimensity 6360 Apex for OnePlus. No matched independent benchmark was verified, so the names alone are not enough to establish which phone is faster in everyday use or gaming.
Compare the displays and cameras by what is actually listed
The N6 is reported to have a slightly larger 6.8-inch LCD, while Samsung specifies a 6.7-inch-class PLS LCD. Both are listed as HD+ and 120Hz, so these specifications do not show a resolution-class advantage for either phone. Samsung lists a 50MP main camera plus a 2MP rear camera; the N6 is reported with one 50MP rear camera. Megapixel counts and camera quantities do not establish photo quality.

How much confidence should you place in the OnePlus N6 specifications?
The OnePlus N6 5G’s listed specifications and price should be treated as provisional. The comparison details come from 91mobiles and Gadgets Now, and a search restricted to OnePlus India did not return an official N6 5G product page in the material available for this comparison. That does not prove the model does not exist; it means the manufacturer identity and specifications could not be verified there. Check for an official OnePlus listing before relying on the claims or purchasing.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Verdict
On the available evidence, the Galaxy M17e 5G is the more straightforward choice for buyers who prioritize verified specifications and Samsung’s stated update policy. The OnePlus N6 5G may suit buyers drawn to its reported larger display, bigger battery and faster charging, but those advantages remain comparison-site claims until confirmed by OnePlus. The displayed ₹6,500 price gap is useful as a snapshot, not a firm purchasing figure.
