The Samsung Galaxy M17 5G and realme P4x 5G suit different priorities. Samsung specifies a Super AMOLED display, optical image stabilization (OIS) on its main rear camera, and a long software-update commitment. realme lists a higher refresh-rate ceiling, a larger battery, and faster maximum charging. There is no reliable current price gap to quote from the available listings: the prices refer to different dates and may not match by configuration.

Display: AMOLED or a faster refresh ceiling?
The M17 has a Super AMOLED panel, while the P4x has an LCD. Samsung specifies a maximum 90Hz refresh rate; realme specifies up to 144Hz. That makes the P4x the higher-refresh option on paper, while the M17 offers a different display technology. Refresh rate alone does not establish overall screen quality, and these specifications do not show how either screen looks in everyday use.

realme lists a 7000mAh typical battery, with 6830mAh rated capacity, and charging up to 45W. Samsung lists 5000mAh and 25W charging. These figures favor the P4x for stated battery capacity and maximum charging wattage, but they do not establish how long either phone lasts or how quickly it charges in practice. Those outcomes depend on use and require comparable testing.

Cameras: the M17 specifies main-camera OIS
Samsung lists three rear cameras and OIS on the 50MP main camera. realme lists a 50MP wide camera and a 2MP monochrome camera. OIS is a stabilization feature; it does not, by itself, prove that the M17 takes better photos. The megapixel counts and number of rear cameras also cannot settle image quality. The listed front-camera resolutions are 13MP for Samsung and 8MP for realme, which likewise do not establish selfie quality.
Software support: Samsung has a stated commitment
Samsung’s M17 launch announcement says the phone will receive six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The cited official P4x materials do not establish a comparable commitment, so this comparison cannot claim that realme offers the same policy or specify its support period.

Price difference: the available figures are not a fair like-for-like comparison
Samsung announced these M17 launch prices on 13 October 2025: ₹12,499 for 4GB/128GB, ₹13,999 for 6GB/128GB, and ₹15,499 for 8GB/128GB. Samsung identified the ₹12,499 amount as a special launch-offer net price, so it should not be treated as a guaranteed current price.
The P4x was announced on 26 November 2025 ahead of its 4 December 2025 debut. The realme store listing cited for this comparison displayed ₹26,999 alongside a struck-through ₹38,999. The listing information does not establish a matching configuration or a price collected at the same time as Samsung’s launch prices. Those numbers therefore cannot support a dependable current price difference between the phones.

Before choosing based on cost, compare live listings for the same RAM and storage tier. Check the seller or sales channel, the date, and whether the checkout price depends on a launch, bank, or other offer. Samsung’s announcement named Amazon as a sales channel, but that does not confirm current stock; the cited information also does not establish Amazon availability for the P4x.

Consider the Samsung Galaxy M17 if you prioritize
- A Super AMOLED display over the P4x’s LCD.
- OIS listed for the main rear camera.
- Samsung’s announced six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
Consider the realme P4x if you prioritize
- A higher specified refresh-rate ceiling of up to 144Hz.
- A larger stated battery capacity and higher maximum charging wattage.
These are specification-based distinctions, not proof of better camera results, gaming performance, or battery endurance. For those outcomes, look for independent tests that compare the exact phones under equivalent conditions.
