The Samsung Galaxy M17 5G is the stronger fit for a sharper AMOLED display, optical image stabilization, expandable storage, and a clearly stated software-support commitment. The realme Narzo 90X 5G stands out for its larger stated battery, faster charging, and higher refresh rate. The right choice depends on which of those trade-offs matters more—and on the live price of the exact memory variant you want.

Specifications are manufacturer claims or comparison-listing details, not results from hands-on testing. In particular, camera megapixels, battery capacity, charging wattage, and processor names do not by themselves establish real-world photo quality, endurance, charge time, or speed. Samsung’s Galaxy M17 specifications, realme’s Narzo 90X product page, and the 91mobiles comparison are the sources for the listed details.
Which display is better for you?
Choose the M17 for resolution and AMOLED
The M17 pairs a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate. Its higher stated resolution and AMOLED panel make it the more appealing specification choice if you prioritize detailed viewing and that display technology.

The Narzo 90X has a slightly larger 6.8-inch LCD, but its listed resolution is HD+. Its 144 Hz refresh rate is higher than the M17’s 90 Hz. That makes it the specification-led option for readers who value a higher refresh rate and a marginally larger screen over resolution and AMOLED. The figures alone do not establish how smooth either phone feels in every app.

Battery and charging: Narzo leads on stated figures
realme lists a 7,000 mAh battery and 60W charging for the Narzo 90X; Samsung lists 5,000 mAh and 25W charging for the M17. Those specifications give the Narzo the advantage in stated capacity and charging wattage, but they do not prove how long either phone lasts or how quickly it charges in practice. Usage, charging conditions, and other factors affect those outcomes.
Samsung says the M17’s 25W charger is sold separately. Confirm what is included with the specific Narzo 90X listing before assuming a charger comes in the box; package contents were not confirmed in the official material reviewed here.

Camera hardware: M17 has more listed modules and OIS
Samsung lists a 50 MP main rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 5 MP ultrawide camera, and a 2 MP macro camera, plus a 13 MP front camera. The comparison lists the Narzo 90X with a 50 MP primary rear camera and an 8 MP front camera; realme’s official page highlights a Sony 50 MP camera.

On listed hardware, the M17 offers more rear-camera modules and OIS, and its front camera has a higher stated resolution. That is not enough to conclude that it takes better photos or selfies: megapixel counts and camera features do not substitute for comparable image testing. Samsung’s launch announcement quoted Akshay S. Rao, Director, MX Business, Samsung India, describing the M17’s OIS camera as a “No shake camera.” This is the company’s promotional wording, not an independent test result.

Software support and storage: M17 has the clearer published commitment
Software updates
Samsung announced six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the M17. Its product page lists security-update validity through 30 September 2031 and cautions that update plans may change. A comparable official update-duration commitment for the Narzo 90X was not established in the reviewed official material, so the available sources do not support a direct longevity comparison.
Memory and expansion
Samsung announced 4/128 GB, 6/128 GB, and 8/128 GB M17 variants, and its specifications list microSD support up to 2 TB. The Narzo 90X listing gives 128 GB storage and realme advertises up to 18 GB of dynamic RAM. Dynamic RAM is not equivalent to physical RAM, so compare the phone’s actual RAM and storage configuration with your needs rather than treating that advertised figure as a physical-memory tier.

Price difference: launch prices versus an observed listing snapshot
Samsung’s India launch prices in 2025 were ₹12,499 for 4/128 GB, ₹13,999 for 6/128 GB, and ₹15,499 for 8/128 GB. Samsung said the ₹12,499 price for the 4 GB model included a special launch offer, so it should not be read as an ordinary or guaranteed price.

The observed Amazon prices make the Narzo ₹1,000 less expensive than the M17 in that snapshot, but prices can change and the source does not establish that the displayed phones were matching memory variants. Check today’s price, selected RAM and storage, seller, and stock before buying. Samsung’s 13 October 2025 launch announcement gives the M17 launch prices; the dated Amazon observations come from the 91mobiles comparison.

Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy M17 5G if you value an FHD+ Super AMOLED display, OIS and additional listed rear cameras, microSD expansion, or Samsung’s published update commitment.
- Choose the realme Narzo 90X 5G if its 7,000 mAh stated battery, 60W charging, or 144 Hz display refresh rate is the priority.
- Compare exact listings if price is decisive: the M17 launch prices are historical, and the Amazon prices reported by 91mobiles are a dated snapshot rather than a live guarantee.
Both phones are listed with octa-core 5G processors manufactured on a 6 nm process, but the cited specifications do not establish which performs better. No independent performance, battery, charging, or camera tests are available here to settle those questions.
