Is the Samsung Galaxy Fit discontinued? It depends on which model you mean. The original Galaxy Fit and Fit2 are distinct from the Galaxy Fit product line: Samsung announced the Galaxy Fit3 as a later-generation band, but that does not confirm that older models remain on sale or that Fit3 is currently stocked in every country.
What “discontinued” means for the Galaxy Fit
The name can refer either to the original Galaxy Fit device or to Samsung’s broader family of fitness bands. A newer model in the family does not prove that the original Galaxy Fit is still sold, nor does it establish an end-of-sale date for the older device. Samsung’s available announcements and product listings do not specify when the original Galaxy Fit or Fit2 stopped being sold.
So there is no supported blanket answer that Samsung has discontinued—or continues to sell—the entire Galaxy Fit line. Availability depends on the specific generation and market.

Samsung Japan announced that Galaxy Fit3 sales began in Japan on January 31, 2025, through Samsung’s online shop, Amazon Japan, and major electronics retailers. That confirms a launch in Japan on that date, not present-day stock there or availability elsewhere. Samsung Japan’s Galaxy Fit3 launch announcement

Samsung Canada lists Galaxy Fit3 model SM-R390, with a 1.6-inch AMOLED display, sleep and exercise tracking, and a battery-life claim of up to 13 days. The battery figure is Samsung’s advertised result under its stated usage scenarios, not an independent test. Samsung also notes that features and availability may vary by region. How to check whether a Galaxy Fit model is available where you live
- Identify the generation. Check the product name and model number on the device, box, or listing. Do not treat “Galaxy Fit” as a precise model name when comparing the original Fit, Fit2, and Fit3.
- Check your local Samsung store. Search the Samsung website for your country or region and the exact generation. A listing or launch announcement from Japan or Canada does not establish availability in your market.
- Verify the seller and stock status. If considering a retailer or marketplace listing, confirm that the specific model is actually in stock and check the seller’s return and warranty terms. A past launch channel is not proof of current inventory.
- Check phone compatibility before choosing Fit3. Samsung support says Galaxy Fit3 does not support iOS phones. Samsung Canada specifies a Samsung Galaxy phone running Android 10.0 or later with at least 1.5 GB of memory for its listed product. Confirm requirements for your region and phone before buying. What to compare before replacing an older Galaxy Fit
| Check | Why it matters | What Samsung’s cited information establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Generation and model number | Names can be confused across different devices. | Samsung Canada identifies Fit3 as SM-R390. |
| Local availability | Sales and stock differ by market and date. | Samsung announced a Japan launch on January 31, 2025; this does not establish current stock in other regions. |
| Phone compatibility | A tracker may not connect to your phone. | Samsung Korea says Fit3 does not support iOS; Samsung Canada lists Android 10.0 or later and at least 1.5 GB memory with a Samsung Galaxy phone. |
| Battery expectations | Advertised maximums depend on usage conditions. | Samsung Canada advertises up to 13 days for Fit3 under its stated usage scenarios; this is not an independent test. |
| Screen and tracking features | These determine whether a successor meets your needs. | Samsung Canada lists a 1.6-inch AMOLED display, sleep tracking, and exercise tracking. |
| Charging accessories | Included accessories and compatibility affect setup and replacement costs. | Samsung Canada says the wall charger is sold separately. Check the exact accessory listing for cable, charger, and band compatibility. Samsung Canada’s Galaxy Fit3 accessory information |
Bottom line on Galaxy Fit discontinuation
Galaxy Fit3 is a later-generation Samsung fitness band, and Samsung documented its Japanese launch in January 2025. That does not establish the original Galaxy Fit’s end-of-sale date or guarantee current availability for any Fit model in a particular market. Check the exact model on Samsung’s local site and with local retailers, and confirm phone compatibility before selecting a successor.
