The Samsung Galaxy F17 5G and vivo X300 FE sit in very different price tiers in India. Samsung’s 2025 launch prices ran from ₹13,999 to ₹16,999; vivo announced 2026 launch prices of ₹79,999 and ₹89,999. The F17 gives you a larger display and a clearly documented software-support period, while the X300 FE pairs a smaller, higher-refresh display with a more advanced camera configuration on paper. They are not like-for-like alternatives: choose between them based first on budget, then on the features you will actually use.

These are manufacturer-published specifications and launch details, not results from a same-method independent comparison. They do not establish real-world speed, photo quality, battery life, or how either phone will withstand particular conditions.
How big is the price difference in India?
Using the prices in the manufacturers’ launch announcements, the X300 FE 12GB/256GB was ₹63,000 more than the F17 4GB/128GB, ₹64,500 more than the F17 6GB/128GB, and ₹66,000 more than the F17 8GB/128GB. Against the X300 FE 12GB/512GB launch price, the differences were ₹76,000, ₹74,500, and ₹73,000, respectively. These comparisons span sharply different market tiers and memory configurations; they are useful for understanding the budget gap, not for treating the phones as equivalents.

There is also a discrepancy between vivo’s official price displays: its May 2026 launch release gives ₹79,999 for 12GB/256GB and ₹89,999 for 12GB/512GB, while the official e-store page accessed for this comparison showed ₹89,999 for a 12GB/256GB selection alongside a ₹119,999 MRP. Check the live listing, selected variant, and final checkout price before buying. Samsung’s product page displayed “Not for sale” when reviewed, so its launch prices likewise should not be read as current availability or pricing.

Which phone has the better screen for you?
Galaxy F17: prioritize a larger viewing area
Samsung lists a 6.91-inch-class FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. Its larger diagonal may suit buyers who prefer more screen space for reading, video, or general browsing, although the specification alone does not establish viewing quality or comfort.
X300 FE: prioritize a smaller, sharper, faster-refresh panel
vivo lists a 6.31-inch AMOLED display at 2640×1216 and 120Hz. The smaller diagonal makes it the more compact choice on these published dimensions, while its listed refresh rate is higher. Neither refresh rate nor resolution alone proves which display looks better in everyday use.

What do the processors and camera hardware tell you?
Processor: published names are not a speed test
The F17 uses Samsung’s listed Exynos 1330; the X300 FE uses vivo’s listed Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. Those names identify the platforms, but the official specifications cited here do not provide comparable independent benchmark results. If demanding games or intensive workloads matter, look for independent tests using the exact India-market phones and software versions rather than inferring a performance gap from chipset names alone.
Cameras: the vivo adds a dedicated stabilized telephoto
Samsung lists a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), alongside 5MP and 2MP rear cameras. vivo lists a 50MP OIS main camera, a separate 50MP OIS telephoto camera, and an 8MP wide camera. The dedicated telephoto module is a meaningful hardware distinction if you want a separate zoom camera; it does not, by itself, prove better photos or video.
vivo says the separately purchased ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 is compatible with the X300 FE. Its launch price was ₹15,999, according to vivo Newsroom India; treat that as a launch figure, not a confirmed current accessory price. Consider it only if its use case and current availability justify the additional cost.
Battery, charging, and protection: compare claims carefully
Samsung lists a 5000mAh battery and 25W wired charging for the F17. vivo lists 6500mAh typical capacity (6350mAh rated) and 90W wired charging for the X300 FE. Capacity and charging wattage are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements of screen-on time, charging time, or endurance under your usage.

Samsung lists IP54 protection; vivo lists IP68/IP69. These ratings distinguish the published protection classifications, but they do not establish that a phone will survive every exposure to dust or water. Follow each manufacturer’s terms and care guidance rather than treating a rating as a guarantee against damage.
Which phone has the clearer software-support commitment?
Samsung announced six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates for the Galaxy F17 5G. Samsung’s product page lists its security-update validity date as September 30, 2031. That explicit commitment is a useful point of comparison for buyers who plan to keep a phone for years.

vivo’s reviewed India materials list Android 16 and OriginOS 6 for the X300 FE, but do not state a matching support duration. That means the sources cited here do not establish a comparable number of years; it does not prove that vivo has no software-update policy.

- Choose the Galaxy F17 5G if you want a phone in a much lower launch-price tier, prefer a larger display, and value Samsung’s specifically stated upgrade and security-update commitment. Confirm current availability and price because the cited launch figures are historical.
- Choose the vivo X300 FE if your budget accommodates a premium-tier phone and you prefer its smaller display, higher listed refresh rate, dedicated stabilized telephoto camera, faster listed wired charging, or higher IP rating. These specifications do not substitute for independent tests of performance, imaging, endurance, or durability.
- Pause before deciding if you are comparing them only by megapixels, processor names, battery capacity, or a single displayed price. Check the exact storage variant and live price, and consult independent testing for the outcomes that specifications cannot settle.
