The Samsung Galaxy F17 5G and Galaxy M17e 5G launched in India at the same prices for their shared 4GB/128GB and 6GB/128GB configurations. The main choice is what you value more: the F17’s higher-resolution Super AMOLED screen and more versatile stabilized camera setup, or the M17e’s larger battery and higher maximum refresh rate. These are launch prices, not guaranteed current checkout prices.

How much do the Galaxy F17 and M17e cost?
Samsung’s India launch prices match for the two configurations common to both phones: ₹13,999 for 4GB RAM with 128GB storage and ₹15,499 for 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. That makes the launch-price difference ₹0 for like-for-like memory and storage. Samsung also announced an 8GB/128GB F17 at ₹16,999; its cited M17e launch announcement lists only 4GB and 6GB variants.

Those figures are the prices announced at each phone’s launch, not a quote for today’s purchase. Check Samsung or the relevant retailer for current price, availability, and any offers. Samsung named Samsung.com, retail stores, and Flipkart among the F17 sales channels; for the M17e, it named Samsung.com, Amazon, and select retail stores.

Which phone has the better display?
Galaxy F17: higher resolution and Super AMOLED
The F17 has a 6.7-inch-class FHD+ Super AMOLED display listed at 1080 × 2340 pixels, with a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. Samsung advertises 1,100 nits on its product page. The higher resolution means more pixels for text and images than on the M17e’s HD+ panel; AMOLED is also a different display technology from the M17e’s LCD.
Galaxy M17e: smoother maximum refresh rate
The M17e uses an HD+ (720 × 1600) PLS LCD panel with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Its higher maximum refresh rate may make supported scrolling and animation look smoother, while the lower resolution provides fewer pixels than the F17. Samsung identifies the panel as PLS LCD; the IPS LCD label used by some comparison listings does not match Samsung’s product specifications.

How do the cameras compare?
The F17’s rear setup combines a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an ultra-wide camera, and a macro camera. It also has a 13MP front camera. The M17e has a 50MP + 2MP rear setup, with no OIS listed on Samsung’s product page, and an 8MP front camera.
On the published hardware, the F17 offers more camera types and stabilization on its main camera. That does not by itself establish which phone takes better photos or video: the listed megapixel counts and features are not a substitute for comparable camera testing.

Which phone has longer battery life?
The M17e has the larger listed battery capacity at 6,000mAh, compared with 5,000mAh for the F17. Samsung lists 25W charging for the F17; the cited M17e information does not establish a charging wattage. Capacity alone cannot determine real-world runtime, which also depends on factors such as display settings, signal strength, apps, and usage.

Which Samsung phone should you choose?
- Choose the F17 if you prioritize a higher-resolution Super AMOLED display, OIS on the main rear camera, an ultra-wide camera, or an 8GB/128GB option.
- Choose the M17e if you prioritize a larger listed battery capacity or a higher maximum refresh rate, and are comfortable with an HD+ PLS LCD display and a simpler listed rear-camera setup.
