To connect Galaxy Buds to a phone or computer, put them in pairing mode and select them in that device’s Bluetooth settings—or use the compatible Samsung setup flow. If the left and right earbuds have stopped working together, that is a separate resynchronization problem. The correct steps depend on your Buds model and the host device.
First, identify what needs syncing
“Syncing” can mean either pairing the earbuds with a phone or computer, or coupling the left and right earbuds to each other. Pairing creates a connection between the Buds and a host device. Resynchronizing addresses earbuds that have become uncoupled from one another. Start with the section that matches your symptom.
Pair Galaxy Buds with a Samsung phone
Samsung documents more than one setup route; the screens and eligibility are not universal.
Automatic setup on a supported Samsung Android device
- Install SmartThings on the compatible Samsung Android device, if it is not already installed.
- Put the earbuds in their charging case and open the case near the phone.
- If the setup prompt appears, tap Connect and follow the on-screen instructions.
This flow is described in Samsung’s UK Galaxy Buds setup guide. Samsung’s regional support pages may use different terms or set different eligibility requirements.

QuickPair on a Galaxy device running One UI 8
Samsung Canada documents a separate QuickPair flow for Galaxy devices updated to One UI 8.0. Follow the on-screen Bluetooth pairing prompt for that software version; this documented route does not require Galaxy Wearable for pairing. Pair with another Android device or Bluetooth host
Use Galaxy Wearable on supported Android devices
On a compatible non-Samsung Android device, Samsung’s UK guide directs users to install Galaxy Wearable and follow its setup instructions. App availability and menus can vary by device and software version.

Pair manually through Bluetooth settings
- Put both earbuds in your ears.
- Press and hold both touchpads until you hear the pairing sound.
- On the host device, open its Bluetooth settings and select your Galaxy Buds from the available devices.
Samsung notes that Bluetooth settings vary by host. If holding the touchpads does not produce the pairing sound, check the instructions for your Buds generation in the Samsung setup guide.
Connect to a Windows laptop
Samsung’s Windows instructions, published in April 2026, use this path: Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Add device > Bluetooth. Put the Buds into pairing mode using the control for your model, choose them from the Bluetooth device list, and connect. Samsung’s guide distinguishes a case connect button on Buds4 and Buds4 Pro from touchpad pairing on earlier Buds families. Resynchronize the left and right earbuds
Samsung says the earbuds normally synchronize when both are placed in the ears. If they have become uncoupled, its support procedure for covered models is:
- Place both earbuds in the charging case.
- Hold both touchpads for at least seven seconds.
- Watch the indicator: Samsung says it flashes green and then returns to its initial color when the earbuds are synced.
If only one earbud appears afterward, follow the in-app instructions. This is a model-dependent procedure, not a universal reset gesture; check the relevant model directions if your earbuds do not have matching touchpads. See Samsung’s earbud synchronization instructions.

If the Buds will not stay connected
Work through these checks in order, then reconnect if needed. Samsung says wireless range varies with the environment and phone model, so a single distance is not a guarantee.

- Reduce distance and interference. Keep the host device and Buds nearby, and move away from obstructions or likely sources of wireless interference.
- Charge the earbuds. Low battery can interfere with normal use.
- Install available updates. Check for updates using the supported Samsung software for your device and Buds.
- Restart both ends. Restart the earbuds and the phone or computer, then check the connection again.
- Remove the saved pairing and reconnect. In the host’s Bluetooth settings, remove or unpair the Galaxy Buds, then repeat the pairing steps for that host.
