Galaxy Buds Core is the better choice for most buyers who value the newer Bluetooth 5.4 specification, the listed IP54 protection rating, lower listed weights, or longer rated playback with noise cancellation turned off. Galaxy Buds FE makes more sense if your priority is its one-hour higher rated maximum with ANC enabled, or if you specifically prefer the FE model and find it at a better local price.
That recommendation is based on Samsung’s published specifications, not an independent listening, call, fit, or comfort test. Both earbuds list ANC and ambient sound, and the comparison does not establish a winner for sound quality, microphone performance, or wearing comfort. Your local model number also matters: Samsung’s protection information differs between regions.
Quick verdict
- Choose Galaxy Buds Core for the listed IP54 rating, Bluetooth 5.4, lower listed earbud and case weights, or up to 35 hours of total playback with ANC off.
- Choose Galaxy Buds FE for its slightly higher listed maximum of up to 21 hours with ANC on, or when the FE is meaningfully cheaper in your country.
- Do not choose either solely for sound, call quality, or fit. Samsung’s comparison lists the headline hardware features but does not provide a controlled head-to-head test.
- Confirm the regional SKU before paying. The Colombian comparison lists IP54 for Core and leaves FE’s protection field blank, while a Samsung US FE specification sheet lists IPX2.
What Samsung’s comparison does—and does not—prove
The main specification source is Samsung Colombia’s comparison page, last updated October 7, 2025. Samsung says that comparison applies to products purchased in Colombia and warns that options and availability can vary by region, model, software version, and country. That scope is important: the figures are useful for understanding the two product designs, but they are not a guarantee that every country sells the same configuration.

Samsung’s US FE specification sheet adds a different protection claim from the Colombian table. #1 Best Overall
All playback figures below are Samsung-rated maximums. Samsung notes that actual battery life varies with use and conditions. Capacity numbers are typical capacities, not a promise of equivalent operating time, and a Bluetooth version number does not by itself predict sound quality or connection range in a particular environment.

Battery life: the answer changes when ANC is on
Galaxy Buds Core with ANC on and off
Samsung Colombia rates Galaxy Buds Core for up to 20 hours of total playback with ANC enabled and up to 35 hours with ANC disabled. The larger number is the relevant one if you normally listen without noise cancellation, use the earbuds mainly in quiet rooms, or want to minimize charging-case visits during travel.

The same comparison rates Galaxy Buds FE for up to 21 hours with ANC enabled and up to 30 hours with ANC disabled. FE therefore has the higher published maximum in the ANC-on scenario, but Core has the higher maximum when ANC is off.
How to interpret the one-hour and five-hour differences
These are rated maxima, not measurements made in a controlled comparison by an independent tester. Playback time can change with volume, wireless conditions, microphone use, software behavior, temperature, battery age, and other settings. The sensible conclusion is conditional: FE has the better stated ANC-on figure, while Core has the better stated ANC-off figure. Neither number proves that one model will last longer for your personal routine.
ANC and ambient sound
Samsung lists both active noise cancellation and ambient sound for both models. That means the feature checklist does not separate them: each is presented as capable of reducing some outside noise and of passing environmental sound through when you need awareness.
Rank #2
- Ideal for Gifting
- Ideal for a bookworm
- Compact for travelling
The available specifications do not state how much noise each model removes, how natural ambient mode sounds, or how either performs on voices, public transport, wind, or low-frequency engine noise. They also do not identify a winner for transparency quality. If those details decide your purchase, look for a return policy that lets you evaluate the earbuds with your own commute and phone before committing.

Bluetooth 5.4 versus Bluetooth 5.2
Galaxy Buds Core lists Bluetooth 5.4, while Galaxy Buds FE lists Bluetooth 5.2 in Samsung Colombia’s comparison. Core therefore has the newer listed Bluetooth version.
That difference is useful as a specification advantage, but it should not be exaggerated. Bluetooth generation alone does not establish better audio tuning, stronger microphones, lower latency in every app, or a longer real-world range. Phone compatibility, codecs, firmware, interference, and the behavior of the source device all affect the experience. Pick Core for the newer connection specification if that matters to you; do not use the version number as a substitute for a sound or call-quality test.
Water and dust protection: check the exact regional model
Samsung Colombia lists an IP54 rating for Galaxy Buds Core. In practical terms, that published rating is the clearest protection claim in the comparison, so Core is the safer choice when a documented resistance rating is a buying priority. The rating still does not make the earbuds suitable for deliberate submersion, and the case should be treated separately from the earbuds unless its own documentation says otherwise.
The Colombian comparison leaves Galaxy Buds FE’s protection field blank. A Samsung US FE specification sheet lists IPX2. Those entries are not interchangeable: the Colombian page does not establish that FE has no rating, and the US sheet does not prove that every FE sold worldwide has the same protection.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteBefore buying, match the rating to the model number and country shown on the retailer listing, packaging, or Samsung support documentation. If the seller cannot identify the regional SKU, treat the protection specification as unresolved rather than assuming the highest or lowest value.
Rank #3
Battery capacity and weight
Samsung lists typical battery capacities of 65 mAh per Core earbud and 500 mAh for its case. FE is listed at 60 mAh per earbud and 479 mAh for its case. Core therefore has the larger stated capacities, although capacity alone does not determine runtime; Samsung’s own playback ratings differ by ANC mode and model.
Core is listed at 5.3 g per earbud and 31.2 g for the case. FE is listed at 5.6 g per earbud and 40 g for the case. On those figures, each Core earbud is 0.3 g lighter and its case is 8.8 g lighter.
Those are measurable differences, not a comfort verdict. Ear-tip seal, wing design, ear shape, pressure points, and how securely the earbuds stay in motion can matter more than a fraction of a gram. Do not infer that Core will feel comfortable for every ear or that FE will feel heavy from the weight table alone.

Sound quality
Samsung’s Colombia comparison does not publish a head-to-head listening result, frequency response, codec comparison, or independent measurement that would identify a sound-quality winner. Both models list a one-way speaker, but that specification does not describe tuning, bass response, detail, distortion, or how ANC changes the sound.
Calls and microphones
The comparison lists six microphones for each model. A microphone count does not reveal how clearly either set handles wind, traffic, rooms with reverberation, or overlapping speech. No controlled call test is established by the available product pages, so call quality should not decide the purchase on specification count alone.
Fit and comfort
Samsung India’s Galaxy Buds Core product page says it is “Designed for all-day comfort” and describes silicone wingtips as providing a “pressure-free fit.” That is Samsung’s product-page wording, not independent evidence that Core fits more ears comfortably than FE. The published specifications likewise do not prove that one model is more secure during exercise or more comfortable during long sessions.
Rank #4
If fit is your main concern, use the retailer’s return terms, check which ear-tip sizes are included with your local package, and test both earbuds at low volume while walking and sitting. Those practical checks answer a question the specification table cannot.

Launch dates and model age
Samsung India lists Galaxy Buds FE’s launch date as October 4, 2023, and Galaxy Buds Core’s as June 27, 2025. On those India pages, Core is the newer model by nearly two years.
Do not convert those dates into a worldwide release timeline. Samsung presents them on India product pages, and launch timing, stock, bundles, and even model names can differ by country. The dates are useful for understanding which page describes the newer product, not for proving when either model first became available in your market.

Buy Galaxy Buds Core if these priorities match you
- You want the newer Bluetooth 5.4 specification listed by Samsung.
- You want the clearer published protection claim: IP54 in Samsung Colombia’s comparison.
- You normally use ANC off and value the higher rated maximum of up to 35 total hours.
- You prefer the lower listed weights of 5.3 g per earbud and 31.2 g for the case.
- The local Core price is close enough to FE that these specification advantages matter more than a discount.
Core is the more specification-focused recommendation because it leads on the connection version, the documented Colombian protection rating, ANC-off playback, and listed weight.
Buy Galaxy Buds FE if these priorities match you
- You use ANC frequently and value the one-hour higher rated maximum of up to 21 total hours with ANC enabled.
- You specifically prefer the FE model’s design or availability in your market.
- Your local FE price is substantially lower and the regional protection documentation is acceptable to you.
FE’s case is not based on a broad performance win. Its strongest documented advantage in this comparison is the ANC-on playback maximum, plus any price or availability advantage you find locally.
Wait or compare in person if your priority is subjective
If your decision depends mainly on sound signature, call clarity, secure fit, or long-session comfort, these product pages do not establish a winner. Compare return policies, verify the exact SKU, and test the earbuds with your own phone and typical listening conditions. A lower price is useful only if the regional model and after-sales terms are clear.

How to verify the model you are actually buying
- Identify the country and seller. Note where the product will be delivered and whether the listing is for an official regional model or an import.
- Record the exact model number. Compare the number on the retailer page, box label, and Samsung documentation. Do not rely on a listing title alone.
- Check the protection documentation. For Core, verify that the IP54 claim applies to your local SKU. For FE, look for the rating stated for your region instead of assuming the Colombian blank or US IPX2 entry applies everywhere.
- Confirm the stated battery mode. A headline total can mean ANC on or ANC off. Check which mode the seller is quoting.
- Check warranty and return terms. They matter especially when fit and comfort are not predictable from specifications.
- Compare the complete price. Include taxes, delivery, and any regional bundle difference. The available Samsung pages do not establish a current global price comparison or retailer stock position.
Common buying mistakes
Assuming the largest battery number always wins
Core’s 35-hour figure applies with ANC off, while FE’s 21-hour figure applies with ANC on. Comparing those numbers without matching the ANC condition creates a misleading conclusion. Compare like with like: ANC on against ANC on, or ANC off against ANC off.
Treating Bluetooth 5.4 as a sound-quality guarantee
Core’s newer Bluetooth listing is a legitimate specification difference, but it is not an independent audio ranking. Your phone, codec support, software, and listening environment still affect results.
Reading a blank protection cell as “no protection”
Samsung’s Colombian table does not provide an FE protection value, while a US FE sheet lists IPX2. The blank is missing information for that comparison, not proof that the earbuds have no protection anywhere.
Using launch dates as proof of local availability
The published dates come from Samsung India pages. A product can launch at a different time in another country, so check local stock and warranty coverage before using age as a purchasing argument.
Expecting specifications to settle comfort
Core is lighter on paper and Samsung markets its wingtip design for comfort, but neither fact predicts how an individual ear will respond. Fit remains a personal test.
Final recommendation
For a general buyer choosing between similarly priced local versions, Galaxy Buds Core is the stronger specification-led pick: Samsung lists Bluetooth 5.4, IP54 in Colombia, lower weights, and up to 35 hours with ANC off. Galaxy Buds FE is the rational alternative when ANC-on endurance matters most, when its local price is significantly lower, or when you simply prefer the FE model. Confirm the regional SKU and protection documentation before ordering, and do not claim a sound, call, or comfort winner that Samsung’s published comparison does not establish.
