Samsung’s Galaxy A57 5G is confirmed by Samsung, including a U.S. launch price of $549.99. The Moto G Max name and its specifications are less certain: comparison sites disagree on core details, and no official Motorola specification was established for this exact model. That means there is no reliable, like-for-like price winner or complete spec comparison yet.
What is confirmed about the Galaxy A57 5G?
Samsung announced U.S. availability beginning April 9, 2026, at a starting price of $549.99. That is the announced U.S. launch price, not a guarantee of today’s price or availability in other countries. See Samsung’s announcement.
Samsung’s specification table lists a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED+ display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, dimensions of 161.5 × 76.8 × 6.9mm, and a weight of 179g. The rear cameras are 50MP wide, 12MP ultrawide, and 5MP macro; the front camera is 12MP. Samsung specifies a typical 5,000mAh battery and IP68 water and dust resistance. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent performance-test results.
For software, Samsung promises up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates. The “up to” qualification matters: it describes Samsung’s stated maximum support, not a guarantee that every upgrade will arrive on a particular date.

Why the Moto G Max comparison is uncertain
Secondary comparison databases do not agree on what the Moto G Max is equipped with. PhoneArena lists a 6.7-inch IPS LCD, a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 7,000mAh battery. Tecnoblog instead lists a 6.78-inch AMOLED display and a 200MP main camera, as well as a different body size. 91mobiles reports another specification set. These entries are not a substitute for a Motorola product page confirming the exact model and regional version.
As a result, claims about the Moto’s display technology, cameras, dimensions, durability, charging, and software support should not be treated as settled. The database disagreement is material: it affects the features buyers would normally use to decide which phone better suits them.

How to judge the price difference
The only price here that can be stated confidently is Samsung’s $549.99 U.S. launch starting price. It is not enough to calculate a current price difference: that requires a current Moto price and comparable local listings for both models, in the same country and with the same storage configuration. A comparison-page price from another market or date may not represent what either phone costs now.

- Match storage and memory configurations before comparing totals.
- Confirm the exact Moto model name and model number on its box or official product listing, then compare that regional specification sheet with Samsung’s official A57 details.
What to verify before choosing
Until Motorola confirms the exact model and regional specifications, a winner based on battery capacity, camera megapixels, or display type would be premature. Check these points on the actual listing or device:
- Screen: Confirm panel type, resolution, and refresh rate rather than relying on a database entry.
- Cameras: Verify the complete camera configuration; a single main-camera megapixel figure does not establish the capabilities of the whole system.
- Battery and charging: Confirm capacity and charging specifications from Motorola’s regional source.
- Durability: Look for the exact water- and dust-resistance rating, if any, rather than assuming comparison-site claims apply to every market.
- Support: Compare the manufacturer’s stated OS-upgrade and security-update periods for the exact model.
- Price: Compare current local prices for equivalent configurations, not the A57’s launch price against an undated or regional Moto listing.
On the evidence available, the A57 is the more verifiable purchase on paper; that is a statement about the reliability of the published specifications, not proof that it is the better phone for every buyer.
