The Samsung Galaxy A56 is the better fit if you want a larger screen and a clearly stated long-term software-update commitment. The vivo X300 FE is the more compact option, with a dedicated telephoto camera and higher listed battery capacity and charging power. For buyers in India, an exact price gap cannot be treated as current from the available figures: Samsung’s are launch prices, while vivo’s store listing price can change.

Samsung’s India launch announcement supplies its software commitment and launch pricing: Samsung Newsroom India.

Which phone is smaller and has the better-sized screen?

The X300 FE is the compact choice: its listed 6.31-inch display and 150.83 × 71.76 mm body are smaller than the A56’s 6.7-inch screen and 162.2 × 77.5 mm dimensions. It is also lighter in the listed specifications, at 191 g versus 198 g. The A56 makes more sense if you prioritize a larger viewing area for reading, video or general navigation; the X300 FE is more suitable if a narrower, shorter handset is your priority.

How do their processors compare?

Samsung lists the Exynos 1580 in the Galaxy A56, while vivo lists the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 in the X300 FE. Those chipset names alone do not establish how much faster one phone is in everyday use, games or sustained workloads. No directly comparable benchmark or independent performance testing is established by the published specifications cited here, so choose based on verified hands-on testing for the apps you use if performance is decisive.

Which phone has the more useful camera setup?

The X300 FE has a dedicated 50MP OIS telephoto camera alongside its 50MP OIS main camera and 8MP wide-angle camera. That gives it a distinct telephoto option in the published hardware list. The A56 instead pairs its 50MP OIS main camera with a 12MP ultrawide and a 5MP macro camera. For selfies, vivo lists a 50MP autofocus front camera, while Samsung lists 12MP.

Megapixel counts and camera categories do not prove which phone takes better photos. Image processing, lens performance and shooting conditions matter, and the specifications do not provide a controlled photo comparison.

What do battery capacity and charging figures tell you?

vivo lists a 6,500mAh typical battery, 6,350mAh rated capacity and 90W FlashCharge for the X300 FE. Samsung lists a 5,000mAh typical battery and 45W charging for the A56. These figures show that vivo publishes the larger capacity and higher maximum charging power; they do not establish actual battery endurance or how long either phone takes to charge. Those outcomes depend on testing conditions and usage, which are not provided by the specification figures.

How do durability ratings differ?

Samsung lists IP67 and Gorilla Glass Victus+ for the A56; vivo India lists IP68 and IP69 for the X300 FE. These are published ratings, not guarantees against damage. Samsung notes that its IP rating is based on laboratory conditions and that resistance can diminish with wear. Treat either phone with care around water and dust rather than relying on its rating as insurance against accidents.

Which phone has the clearer software-update commitment?

Samsung’s India launch announcement promises six generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the new Galaxy A series, including the A56. Samsung states: “Moreover, with six generations of Android OS and six years of security updates, the new Galaxy A series reinforces its focus on software longevity, ensuring users can enjoy a smooth and reliable experience for years to come.” This is Samsung’s stated commitment, not an independent assessment.

The examined vivo India page lists Android 16 and OriginOS 6 for the X300 FE but does not give an equivalent update duration. An Android version listing should not be taken as evidence of a particular number of future updates.

What is the price difference in India?

The available figures are not a synchronized current-price comparison. Samsung’s amounts below are historical India launch prices from its announcement, not guaranteed current selling prices. The announcement also described launch offers with net effective prices subject to its storage-upgrade offer.

Galaxy A56 storage variant Samsung India launch price Launch offer net effective price
8GB + 128GB ₹41,999 ₹41,999
8GB + 256GB ₹44,999 ₹41,999
12GB + 256GB ₹47,999 ₹44,999

The vivo India store listing displayed ₹94,999 for the selected X300 FE 12GB + 256GB variant, with an MRP of ₹119,999, when captured. A separate search-result capture showed a different selling price, so the displayed amount is volatile rather than a dependable current price. See the vivo India store for the listing.

To calculate a meaningful difference, compare live India prices for the same storage tier and confirm whether each amount includes an offer or other conditions. The captured vivo amount and Samsung launch prices should not be subtracted and presented as today’s price gap.

Which phone should you choose?

  • Choose the Galaxy A56 if you prefer a larger 6.7-inch display or want Samsung’s explicitly stated six-generation Android upgrade and six-year security-update commitment.
  • Choose the vivo X300 FE if you want the smaller listed body, a dedicated telephoto camera, or the larger published battery capacity and higher charging-power figure.
  • Compare the phones in person or check independent tests if camera output, sustained speed, battery endurance or real charging time will decide your purchase; the listed specifications do not settle those questions.
