For buyers in India, the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion leads on listed display refresh rate, battery capacity and water-and-dust protection; the Samsung Galaxy A56 has the clearer, longer software-support commitment. A price snapshot checked on October 7, 2026 put an Amazon A56 listing at ₹33,158 and a Flipkart Edge 70 Fusion listing at ₹29,749—a ₹3,409 gap, with the Samsung listing higher. Because those prices are from different retailers and may be for different configurations, treat them as a snapshot, not a dependable price premium.

Specifications are from Samsung India and Motorola Support India unless a different source is named. Motorola says specifications can vary by market, and its UK Edge 70 Fusion page lists a different chipset. Price and support claims are also market- and source-specific; the listed prices are not official launch prices.
Which one is the better buy for your priorities?
Choose the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion for a bigger display and battery
The India model has a 6.8-inch display with a listed refresh rate up to 144Hz, compared with the A56’s 6.7-inch-class screen and up to 120Hz. It also has a stated 7,000mAh battery, versus Samsung’s 5,000mAh typical capacity. Those numbers make Motorola the stronger fit if screen size, smooth scrolling or battery capacity are high on your list.
Do not read the quoted brightness or endurance figures as a direct laboratory comparison. Samsung states 1,200 nits, while Motorola quotes 5,200-nit peak brightness; manufacturers’ peak figures do not establish how bright the phones are in typical viewing. Samsung’s “up to 29 hours” video-playback claim and Motorola’s “up to 52 hours” battery-life claim use different measurement bases, so they do not prove that one lasts a particular number of hours longer in everyday use.
#1 Best Overall
- 25W Samsung Super Fast Charger Included, 6.7" FHD+ Super AMOLED, 120Hz, HDR10+, 1080x2340px, Fingerprint (under display, optical), IP67 dust and water resistance
- 256GB, 8GB, No SD Card Slot, Exynos 1580 (4nm), Octa-core, Xclipse 540 GPU, Android 15, up to 6 major Android upgrades, One UI 7
- Rear Camera: 50MP, f/1.8 + 12MP, f/2.2 + 5MP, f/2.4, Front Camera: 12MP, f/2.2, 5000mAh Battery, Bluetooth 5.3
Choose the Galaxy A56 if long-term software support is the priority
Samsung makes the clearer commitment: up to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Motorola’s UK page says security updates run through February 2031, and 91mobiles reports three years of OS updates for the Edge 70 Fusion. Those claims come from different sources and markets, so they are not a like-for-like India support promise. Check Motorola’s current local support terms before buying if update longevity is decisive.
Do not choose on camera megapixels alone
The camera hardware differs: Samsung has a dedicated 5MP macro camera, while Motorola lists a 13MP ultrawide with macro capability and a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 main camera with optical image stabilization. Motorola also lists a 32MP selfie camera against Samsung’s 12MP. These specifications describe hardware, not the resulting photo quality. No controlled head-to-head test is established here, so the numbers alone do not support naming a camera winner.

Price difference: what the India snapshot does—and does not—show
91mobiles’ comparison page showed ₹33,158 for a Samsung Galaxy A56 Amazon listing and ₹29,749 for a Motorola Edge 70 Fusion Flipkart listing when checked October 7, 2026. Subtracting the listed amounts gives ₹3,409, with the A56 listing higher.

Regional variant check: the Edge 70 Fusion chipset is not the same everywhere
For India, Samsung lists the A56 with Exynos 1580 and Motorola India lists the Edge 70 Fusion with Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. Motorola’s UK support page instead lists Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, and Motorola notes that specifications may vary by market. If buying outside India, verify the local product page and exact model before relying on the India chipset, connectivity or package details.
Durability, charging and package details
The India Edge 70 Fusion is listed with IP68/IP69 protection; Samsung lists IP67 for the A56. An IP rating describes tested ingress protection under specified conditions, not immunity from every kind of water exposure or a guarantee against water damage.
Motorola India lists 68W TurboPower charging and says a 68W charger is included in the box for that variant. Samsung’s cited specification lists the battery and playback claim but does not establish a directly comparable charging rate here. Confirm package contents for your own market and seller before planning to buy a separate charger.
