The Galaxy M47 5G has the larger listed battery and a longer stated security-update horizon, while the Galaxy A55 has a higher-resolution selfie camera and a 12 MP ultra-wide rear camera. There is no dependable current, like-for-like price difference to declare: Samsung’s India page currently marks the M47 “Not for sale,” and the two phones’ official specification pages are for different markets.

Specifications are from Samsung UK’s Galaxy A55 page and Samsung India’s Galaxy M47 page. Samsung’s display measurements use slightly different presentation, but both describe effectively similar-sized screens; the figures do not support a meaningful size advantage for either phone.
Which phone looks better for your priorities?
Choose by battery capacity, not an assumed runtime
The M47’s listed typical capacity is 6,000 mAh versus 5,000 mAh for the A55. That is a capacity advantage on paper, not proof of how many extra hours the M47 will last. Samsung cautions that actual battery life depends on network conditions, usage patterns and other factors. No comparative endurance test is established here.

Compare camera hardware, not promised image quality
Both phones list a 50 MP main rear camera with optical image stabilization and 4K/30 fps recording. The A55’s listed secondary rear camera is 12 MP, compared with 5 MP on the M47; the M47 page also lists a 2 MP third rear camera, while the A55 lists a 5 MP third rear camera. The A55 has a 32 MP selfie camera versus the M47’s 12 MP. These specifications make the A55’s camera mix look stronger on paper, particularly for the secondary rear camera and selfie resolution, but megapixel counts do not establish actual photo quality.

Consider the longer stated M47 support horizon
Samsung India’s M47 page says six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from the first global launch, subject to change, and lists security-update validity through 31 July 2032. Samsung UK’s A55 page lists security updates through 31 March 2028. Those are claims from different regional product pages and should be read with their stated policy terms; confirm the applicable support commitment for the exact model and market you intend to buy.
Check audio and expandable storage needs
Both shown versions list microSD support up to 1 TB. The A55 page lists stereo support; the M47 page does not list stereo support. If stereo speakers matter, treat that as a published-spec distinction rather than assuming the M47 has an equivalent feature.

Processor and configuration: what the listed figures do—and do not—tell you
Samsung lists the A55’s octa-core processor at 2.75 GHz and 2 GHz, with Samsung support text identifying Exynos 1480. For the M47, Samsung lists an octa-core CPU at 2.4 GHz and 1.8 GHz and names Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 in its product copy. The M47 page also notes that LPDDR5X memory used with that processor can achieve up to LPDDR5 performance levels only. Clock speeds and memory labels are not a substitute for comparable benchmarks, and no head-to-head benchmark evidence establishes which phone is faster in real use.

Availability, network bands, memory/storage combinations and pricing can differ by location. Samsung says M47 availability may vary by location and specifications or prices can change without notice, so verify the exact regional model before comparing or buying.

Price difference and availability
A reported launch price is not the same as a current price. Cinco Días reported an India launch price of ₹22,999 for the M47 on 29 June 2026, but Samsung’s current India product page displays “Not for sale.” The launch figure should therefore be treated as historical, not as a verified selling price today. A Gadgets Now comparison listing displayed ₹17,999 for the A55 and ₹35,999 for the M47 when crawled in 2026, but it does not clearly establish equivalent variants or reliable price provenance. Those figures are not a sound basis for claiming a current price gap. Check current local listings for the same storage configuration, warranty region and seller type before deciding on value.

How to make a fair buying comparison
- Match the market and model. Compare listings sold for the same country and confirm the model number, since the official sources here cover Samsung UK’s A55 and Samsung India’s M47.
- Match storage and memory. The compared pages show 256 GB for the A55 and 8 GB/128 GB for the M47. Compare equivalent configurations where available, and account for microSD expansion only if it suits your usage.
- Verify current stock and total price. Use an active local listing rather than a historical launch price or an undated comparison value; include taxes, delivery, warranty and any required accessories.
- Decide which listed trade-off matters most. Favor the M47 on paper for battery capacity and its longer stated support date; favor the A55’s listed camera configuration if the 12 MP secondary rear camera, 32 MP selfie resolution or listed stereo support is more important.
- Check carrier compatibility. Confirm the exact regional variant supports your operator’s bands and services; specifications from one country’s page should not be assumed to apply unchanged elsewhere.
Samsung notes that the M47’s fast charger is sold separately. Check what is included with the particular regional retail listing before budgeting for accessories.
