The Galaxy A27 5G is newer and has a slightly larger screen, while the Galaxy A55 5G lists higher-resolution selfie and ultra-wide cameras. Both have a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization and a 120 Hz FHD+ Super AMOLED display. Samsung also states a specific long-term update commitment for the A27. Which is the better buy depends on your camera priorities and the prices of matching configurations in your market.

Which phone has the better screen?
The A27’s listed screen is 0.1 inch larger by full-rectangle measurement: 6.7 inches versus 6.6 inches for the A55. Both are FHD+ Super AMOLED panels with refresh rates up to 120 Hz. That makes the A27 the larger-screen option on paper, but the cited specifications do not establish a difference in brightness, color accuracy, or overall viewing quality.
How do the cameras compare?
Main camera
Both phones list a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). The matching resolution and stabilization are useful specification points, but they do not establish that the phones produce identical results or that one takes better photos.

Ultra-wide, macro, and selfie cameras
The A55 has the higher listed resolutions for its ultra-wide rear camera (12 MP versus 5 MP) and selfie camera (32 MP versus 12 MP). It also lists a 5 MP macro camera, compared with 2 MP on the A27. These are specification advantages, not proof of better image quality; no matched camera testing is established here.
What Samsung promises for software support
Samsung says the A27 will receive up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates, counted from its initial global launch. Update timing and availability can vary by model and market. Samsung’s cited A55 page confirms OS and security maintenance updates but does not provide a comparable remaining support window, so the available information does not establish how many years of support either phone has left today.

Performance, memory, and battery
The A55 uses Samsung’s Exynos 1480 platform; the A27 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, listed by Samsung as a 4 nm chip in its U.S. specification. Chip names and clock speeds alone are not enough to determine which phone feels faster in everyday use or performs better in games.

Samsung lists the A27’s battery at a typical capacity of 5,000 mAh and charging at 25 W. A third-party comparison page lists the A55 at 5,000 mAh and 25 W; these A55 figures were not taken from a directly inspected Samsung specification page here. Battery life depends on use and network conditions, and capacity alone does not predict runtime.
Size, weight, and water resistance
Samsung lists the A27 at 200 g and 162.4 × 78.2 × 7.8 mm; the A55’s cited UK specification lists 213 g. The A27 is lighter in these cited configurations. Its IP64 rating indicates protection against dust and water splashes; it does not mean the phone is waterproof or suitable for swimming or beach use.

Galaxy A55 vs A27 5G price difference
There is no single global price difference. The figures below are tied to specific markets and snapshots, and the listed configurations are not matched in every case.

For a useful price comparison, check live listings in the same country for the same storage capacity, and confirm whether each phone is new and unlocked or sold through a carrier. The examples above do not establish a universal price gap.
Which one should you choose?
- Consider the A27 if you want the larger listed display, a newer model, and Samsung’s explicit up-to-six-year security-update commitment.
- Consider the A55 if the higher listed selfie and ultra-wide camera resolutions matter more to you than the A27’s newer launch and support statement.
- Compare local listings before deciding if price is the deciding factor: verify storage, memory, 5G bands, warranty, seller, and whether the offer is carrier-specific.
