The Samsung Galaxy A37 5G and Xiaomi REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G make different spec-sheet trade-offs: Xiaomi India lists a higher-resolution display, a much larger battery and faster charging, while Samsung highlights IP68 protection and a defined software-support commitment. There is no reliable global price difference to quote; compare the same storage tier in your country on the day you buy. The specifications below are from Samsung India and Xiaomi India, so local configurations and availability may differ.

Which phone has the better display?
On the published regional specifications, the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G has the larger pixel count: Xiaomi India lists 2772 × 1280, compared with the Galaxy A37’s FHD+ panel. Both are listed at up to 120 Hz, and Samsung specifies a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen. That makes Xiaomi the higher-resolution choice on paper, but resolution alone does not establish brightness, color accuracy, outdoor readability or overall display quality.
Battery capacity and charging: Xiaomi has the larger numbers
Xiaomi India lists a typical 9,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery, 67 W charging and 22.5 W wired reverse charging for the REDMI. Samsung India lists a typical 5,000 mAh battery for the A37. Xiaomi says actual charging power can vary with usage conditions; the Samsung material cited here does not establish a charging-wattage figure for the A37.

The capacity gap is substantial, but it is not a measured battery-life result. Screen settings, software, network conditions and workload all affect endurance; without comparable testing, it would be misleading to promise that either phone lasts a particular number of hours or days.
Camera hardware: compare lenses, not megapixel totals
Samsung lists a triple rear-camera setup with a 50 MP main camera, 8 MP ultrawide and 5 MP macro. Xiaomi lists a 50 MP OIS main camera and an 8 MP ultrawide, plus a 16 MP front camera. The cited Samsung material does not establish a front-camera specification.

The Xiaomi listing specifically identifies optical image stabilization (OIS) on its main camera. That is a hardware distinction, not proof of better photos or video: megapixel counts and lens lists cannot settle image processing, low-light quality, autofocus or stabilization performance. No comparable camera samples or controlled test results are established by these specifications.
Performance and storage: chip names are not a speed test
The Samsung chip identified in the surfaced comparison data is Exynos 1480; Xiaomi’s official India listing specifies Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. These names alone do not support a dependable ranking for everyday responsiveness, gaming or sustained performance. There is no controlled, like-for-like benchmark in the cited material.

Xiaomi India lists up to 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. It specifies UFS 2.2 for the 128 GB version and UFS 3.1 for the 256 GB version, so the storage tier matters as well as capacity. The Samsung India page linked here is for a 128 GB variant; it does not establish every configuration offered across markets. Check the precise local SKU before comparing prices or storage.
Software support and durability
Samsung says the A37 receives up to six generations of Android/One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates. Samsung India’s product page lists security updates as valid until March 31, 2032. Samsung announced the A37 on March 25, 2026, with availability starting April 10 in select markets; the India product page separately lists March 25, 2026 as its launch date. Announcement, listed launch date and retail availability are distinct milestones.

The Samsung announcement also names One UI 8.5 and features including Voice Transcription, AI Select, Object Eraser, Circle to Search with Google, and upgraded Bixby/Gemini capabilities. Feature availability can depend on market, language and software version. Xiaomi India lists HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, but its cited product specification page does not state a support duration. That absence is not proof that Xiaomi provides no updates or that Samsung will necessarily receive support longer; verify Xiaomi’s policy for the exact country and model before deciding on longevity.

Price difference: use a same-market, same-storage comparison
There is no fixed worldwide price gap established for these phones. A 91mobiles comparison page displayed ₹40,999 for the Galaxy A37 5G and ₹36,999 for the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G when accessed on October 7, 2026. Those are a volatile third-party snapshot, not official prices or a guaranteed current offer; the page does not make that pair a universal, same-configuration price verdict. Check the live listing and variant before relying on it.
- Choose the country where you will buy the phone; availability and retail pricing vary by market.
- Match RAM and storage as closely as local models allow, and confirm the exact model variant.
- Compare current prices from reputable retailers on the same date, noting any sale, exchange offer or bundle separately.
- Check network-band compatibility, warranty terms and whether a charger is included. Xiaomi India lists a 67 W charger in the box but says box contents can vary by sales region.

Choose the Galaxy A37 if these are your priorities
- You value Samsung’s stated upgrade and security-update commitment, with the India page specifying updates through March 31, 2032.
- IP68 water and dust resistance is important and is confirmed for the A37 in Samsung’s announcement.
- You want Samsung’s listed software features, subject to local and language availability.
Choose the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G if these are your priorities
- You want the higher-resolution display listed on Xiaomi India’s page.
- You prioritize a larger stated battery capacity, 67 W charging and wired reverse charging.
- You want the listed 256 GB storage option with UFS 3.1, while checking that this is the version sold in your market.
If camera quality, gaming speed or real-world battery endurance is decisive, these specification sheets do not identify a proven winner. Look for comparable testing of the exact local variants rather than inferring results from megapixels, chip names or battery capacity.
