The vivo T5x 5G is the stronger fit if you want a larger listed battery and higher advertised water- and dust-resistance ratings. Choose the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G if you value a Super AMOLED display, more rear-camera options, and Samsung’s clearly stated software-support commitment. Both phones list 120 Hz displays and similarly rated wired charging, but there is no comparable test here to establish a winner for battery life, camera quality, or performance.

Which phone has the better battery and charging?
The vivo T5x lists a 7200 mAh battery, compared with 5000 mAh for the Galaxy A36—a difference of 2200 mAh in rated capacity. That makes the T5x the paper-capacity choice, not a proven battery-life winner: screen use, network conditions, software, and other factors affect runtime, and no comparable battery rundown is available here.

Charging ratings are close: 44 W for vivo and 45 W for Samsung. Those figures alone do not show which phone charges faster in practice; no matched charging-time test is available.
How do the displays compare?
Both phones list 120 Hz refresh rates. The Galaxy A36 has a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel, while the T5x has a slightly larger 6.76-inch LCD. Prefer Samsung if AMOLED is a priority; consider vivo if you want the larger listed diagonal. These specifications do not establish which screen looks better in side-by-side use.
Which phone offers more camera flexibility?
The Galaxy A36 lists three rear cameras: a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), an 8 MP ultrawide, and a 5 MP macro. The T5x lists a 50 MP main camera and a 2 MP bokeh/depth camera. Samsung therefore offers more listed rear-camera options, including an ultrawide for wider framing.

For selfies, vivo lists a 32 MP front camera and Samsung a 12 MP one. Megapixel counts and camera quantity do not prove which phone takes better photos. Choose based on the lenses and features you expect to use, and look for comparable sample images if image quality is decisive.
Which phone has the stronger water and dust protection rating?
vivo advertises IP68 and IP69+ ratings for the T5x; Samsung lists IP67 for the A36. The T5x has the higher advertised ratings, but an IP rating is not a guarantee against damage in every exposure or a promise that liquid damage will be covered by warranty. Check each manufacturer’s terms and care guidance before relying on the rating.
Which has the clearer software-support commitment?
Samsung states that the Galaxy A36 will receive six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The vivo product page identifies OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 but does not state a directly comparable support duration. A secondary comparison source reports two years for the T5x; because that duration was not confirmed on the reviewed vivo product page, verify current support terms with vivo before buying if update longevity is important.

What is the price difference in India?
There is no reliable single price gap to quote from the available snapshots because they involve different retailers, dates, and potentially different configurations. The vivo India Store displayed ₹27,999 for the T5x 6 GB + 128 GB Cosmic Green variant on 7 October 2026; the listing also showed an MRP of ₹45,999. Retail prices and offers can change.
Comparison pages showed ₹25,999 for the A36 at Flipkart and ₹27,689 for the T5x at Amazon; another page showed ₹27,099 for the A36 at Amazon. These are not a matched, same-time comparison, so subtracting them would create a misleading price difference. Check both phones on the same day, at the same storage tier, and include any bank or exchange offers in the comparison.
What comes in the box?
Samsung says accessories are sold separately. For the displayed 6 GB + 128 GB T5x listing, vivo’s store included a charger, phone case, and applied protective film. Box contents can vary by market, variant, or retailer, so confirm the listing for the exact phone you are ordering. The vivo listing details are on the vivo India Store T5x 6 GB + 128 GB page.
Which phone should you buy?
- Choose the vivo T5x if the larger listed battery capacity and higher advertised IP ratings matter most to you. Confirm the live price, exact configuration, warranty, and software-support terms before purchasing.
- Choose the Samsung Galaxy A36 if you want a Super AMOLED display, an ultrawide and macro camera alongside the main camera, or Samsung’s published six-generation OS-upgrade and six-year security-update commitment.
- Compare prices before deciding if neither feature set settles it. Match storage configurations and retailer offers on the same day; the available price snapshots do not establish a universal value winner.
The Galaxy A36 launched in India on 2 March 2025; a secondary source lists the T5x launch as 17 March 2026. These are phones from different launch periods, not simultaneous releases.
