Where does the POVA 8 Pro have the stronger listed hardware?
Display specifications
TECNO lists a slightly larger 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with 144Hz refresh and 2644 × 1208 resolution. The A36 is listed with a 6.7-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED at 1080 × 2340. On paper, the POVA offers more pixels and a higher maximum refresh rate. Those numbers alone do not show which display has better colour accuracy, brightness outdoors, or motion handling in a particular app.
Battery capacity and charging
The POVA’s listed capacity is 6500mAh, compared with 5000mAh for the A36; both are listed at 45W charging. Capacity is not a measured runtime: screen settings, signal strength, software and use affect battery life. Charging time also depends on conditions and the charger supplied in the buyer’s region.

Do the camera and chipset specifications prove one phone is faster or takes better photos?
No. The listed chipsets are Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 for the A36 and Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G for the POVA. Their names and clock-speed claims do not establish everyday speed or gaming performance without comparable tests using the same method.

TECNO specifies optical image stabilization (OIS) for the POVA’s 50MP main camera. The 91mobiles comparison lists the A36 with a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide and 5MP macro, while TECNO lists the POVA with a 50MP OIS main camera and 8MP ultra-wide. The A36’s extra macro camera and the POVA’s stated OIS are differences in listed hardware, not proof of which phone produces better photos. The front cameras are listed at 12MP and 13MP respectively; that small resolution difference cannot settle selfie quality.

The POVA’s higher listed storage may matter, but a fair value comparison also depends on local price, warranty, service access and the exact configuration.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the POVA 8 Pro 5G if its locally available configuration and price suit you, and you value the listed 144Hz, higher-resolution display, 6500mAh battery or 256GB/512GB storage choices. Treat those as specification advantages, not guarantees of better real-world results.
- Consider the Galaxy A36 5G if its current local price is substantially lower or its configuration better fits your needs. The India listing snapshot shows a large price gap, but it does not establish today’s price or prices in other countries.
- Compare before buying if your decision depends on software support, cellular network bands, camera results, gaming or battery runtime. The cited listings do not provide a fully comparable regional software-support commitment or matched independent tests for those questions. Confirm local warranty and service terms as well.
