The Galaxy A36 launched in India at ₹2,000 more than the Galaxy A34 for 8GB/128GB, and ₹3,000 more for 8GB/256GB. The phones share a 120Hz FHD+ Super AMOLED display class and a typical 5,000mAh battery, while the A36 has a slightly larger screen and higher-resolution main camera. These are launch-price and specification comparisons—not proof of better real-world performance or photography.
How much more did the Galaxy A36 cost at launch in India?
Samsung announced the Galaxy A34 in India on 16 March 2023, with planned retail availability from 28 March. The Galaxy A36 was announced on 3 March 2025. The table compares the announced list prices for matching RAM and storage configurations; it does not compare current street prices or temporary offers.
| Configuration | Galaxy A34 India launch price | Galaxy A36 India launch price | A36 premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8GB RAM / 128GB storage | ₹30,999 | ₹32,999 | ₹2,000 |
| 8GB RAM / 256GB storage | ₹32,999 | ₹35,999 | ₹3,000 |
| 12GB RAM / 256GB storage | Not stated for the A34 in Samsung India’s launch announcement | ₹38,999 | Not comparable |
Samsung’s A36 announcement also described temporary storage-upgrade offers, which can make the effective price differ from the list price. For a current buying decision, compare both phones in India at the same time, with the same storage, warranty and seller conditions, and account for active offers. Samsung’s India purchase page displayed ₹36,999 for the A36 8GB/128GB model at the time recorded on 7 October 2026; its displayed MRP was ₹46,999. That volatile listing does not establish the A34’s current price, so it cannot be used to calculate today’s price difference.
What are the main specification differences?
Samsung’s regional specification pages show a similar display category and battery capacity, with differences in listed screen size and camera resolution. Regional configurations can vary.

The A36’s main camera has a higher stated resolution, but megapixels alone do not establish which phone takes better photos. Likewise, matching battery capacity does not prove equal battery life: usage, settings and other factors affect endurance, and the specifications are not independent battery tests. Samsung’s listed camera and display figures are specifications rather than comparative performance measurements.
How do their software-support commitments compare?
Samsung’s India A34 launch announcement promised four Android OS updates and five years of security maintenance. For the A36, Samsung’s India product page states that its security-update period is valid until 31 March 2031. The commitments are expressed differently, so they should not be treated as identical promises or used to infer a guaranteed final Android version for either phone.

Which phone makes more sense for you?
Choose the A36 if
- You find it at a price you are willing to pay and prefer its 6.7-inch listed display over the A34’s 6.6-inch display.
- You want the newer model’s stated 50MP main camera specification rather than the A34’s 48MP specification, while understanding that resolution alone does not determine photo quality.
- The A36’s published security-update end date, 31 March 2031, matters to your purchase decision.
Consider the A34 if
- You can buy it for less than the A36 in a like-for-like current comparison and its specifications meet your needs.
- You prefer its listed 13MP front-camera resolution to the A36’s 12MP figure, without assuming that megapixels alone determine selfie quality.
- You are comfortable weighing the A34’s launch-announcement support wording—four Android OS updates and five years of security maintenance—against the A36’s stated security end date.
No independent benchmark or hands-on comparison is established here, so the available specifications cannot determine which phone is faster or which has better real-world camera quality. Check live prices and availability for both models before buying; current A34 stock and price were not established in the cited Samsung materials.
