For most Galaxy A32 5G versions, do not assume water resistance: the Samsung U.S. and international materials covered here do not establish an IP rating for the standard SM-A326 models. The Japanese au Galaxy A32 5G SCG08 is a documented exception, with an IPX5/IPX8-equivalent rating in au’s model-specific manual. Check your exact model number before exposing the phone to water.
Does the Galaxy A32 5G have an IP water-resistance rating?
There is no single answer for every phone sold as the Galaxy A32 5G. Samsung’s U.S. and international support materials reviewed for the SM-A326 family do not establish a water-resistance rating. Samsung advises checking the manual for the exact model when a model is not included in its rating guidance: Samsung water- and dust-resistance guidance.
That is not proof that every A32 5G sold in every country lacks any resistance. It means you should not treat the standard U.S. or international A32 5G as water resistant based on the documentation cited here, or borrow a rating from a different regional version.

“Galaxy A32 5G” covers devices made for different markets and carriers. Samsung’s U.S. support page identifies its unlocked model as SM-A326U1/DS, while its international support page covers the SM-A326B family. Japan’s carrier au documents a separate model, SCG08. The available documentation does not establish that these variants share the same water protection.

- Japan, au: The carrier’s manual specifically addresses SCG08 and states its water-resistance specification: au Galaxy A32 5G SCG08 online manual.
To identify your phone, check its model number in Settings under About phone, or look at the label or documentation that came with it. Then use the official manual for that exact model and market. Samsung’s U.S. announcement and specifications for the Galaxy A32 5G do not establish a water-resistance rating: Samsung U.S. Galaxy A32 5G announcement.
What the au SCG08 rating means—and what it does not
For the Japanese au SCG08 only, au describes IPX5/IPX8-equivalent water resistance. Its instructions require the SIM/microSD tray to be fully and firmly installed for the stated protection. The carrier also warns that the protection is not guaranteed in every usage situation; it should not be read as permission to use the phone carelessly around water or as a promise that water damage will never occur.

Samsung notes that water resistance can weaken through normal wear over time. Au also warns that a failure attributed to water damage may not be covered by warranty. Those cautions are especially important if you are relying on the SCG08’s model-specific rating.

Can you use a Galaxy A32 5G in rain or near a spill?
If you have a standard SM-A326 variant and cannot confirm an IP rating in its exact official manual, the prudent choice is to keep it dry. Avoid using it in rain, near splashes, or where a spill could reach it. For an au SCG08, follow au’s handling instructions and do not assume the rating protects against every exposure.

Do not deliberately submerge any A32 5G to test it. A rating, where documented, has conditions and limits; an informal test can damage the phone and does not establish what a warranty will cover.

What to do if your Galaxy A32 5G gets wet
- Do not charge it while wet. Au’s SCG08 safety instructions warn against charging the phone when wet. Keep water away from charging equipment as well. See au’s SCG08 manual and au’s SCG08 safety information.
- Do not open the SIM/microSD tray while droplets remain or in the rain. Au specifically cautions SCG08 owners against opening the tray in those conditions; its stated protection depends on the tray being properly installed.
- Follow the instructions for your exact model. Consult the official manual rather than assuming the SCG08 guidance applies to another A32 5G variant. Samsung’s general guidance also explains that water resistance varies by model and may diminish with wear: Samsung water- and dust-resistance guidance.
How to verify your phone before exposing it to water
- Find the full model number in Settings under About phone, or on the device’s label or original documentation.
- Match that number to the correct country or carrier support page and read the model-specific manual.
- Look for an explicit IP rating and its conditions in that manual. If the documentation does not state a rating, do not assume the phone is water resistant.
- Read the warranty terms for your region before relying on water protection; au warns that water-related failures on SCG08 may be excluded from coverage.
