The Samsung Galaxy A27 5G and Nothing Phone (4b) are close in screen size and listed UK starting price, but they make different trade-offs: Samsung publishes the stronger Android-upgrade commitment, while secondary comparisons give Nothing the edge on several headline hardware specifications. There is no cited hands-on test establishing an overall winner, and Nothing’s reported battery capacity is inconsistent, so treat the specification and price comparison as a starting point rather than a performance verdict.
At a glance: how the specifications compare
| Specification | Samsung Galaxy A27 5G | Nothing Phone (4b) |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.7-inch 120 Hz Super AMOLED, according to Samsung | 6.77–6.8-inch 120 Hz AMOLED, according to secondary comparisons |

| Rear cameras | 50 MP main with OIS, 5 MP ultra-wide, 2 MP macro, according to Samsung | 50 MP main and 8 MP ultra-wide, according to secondary comparisons |
| Front camera | 12 MP, according to Samsung | 16 MP, according to secondary comparisons |
| Battery | 5,000 mAh, according to Samsung | Reported as either 5,200 mAh or 6,000 mAh by secondary sources; not confirmed here by an official regional Nothing specification |
| Wired charging | 25 W, reported by Tech Advisor | 33 W, reported by secondary comparisons |
| Software and security support | Up to six generations of Android/One UI upgrades and six years of security updates, according to Samsung | Three Android-version upgrades and six years of security updates, as reported by Tech Advisor |

Samsung’s figures and support terms come from its June 25, 2026 official announcement. Nothing’s figures and the reported charging, support and durability details come from secondary comparisons, including PhoneArena, 91mobiles, Gadgets 360 and Tech Advisor. Differences in camera megapixels or processor model numbers alone do not establish which phone takes better photos or runs faster in everyday use.
What the display and processor differences mean
Screen size and refresh rate
Both phones are listed with 120 Hz AMOLED-class displays, and the reported diagonal difference is small: 6.7 inches for Samsung versus 6.77–6.8 inches for Nothing. Samsung identifies its panel as Super AMOLED. The available specifications do not establish a clear winner in brightness, color accuracy, outdoor visibility or overall viewing quality, so those qualities should not be inferred from size or panel naming alone.
Chipset
Samsung officially specifies the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3; secondary comparisons list the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 in the Nothing. Nothing therefore has the newer-numbered chip in those listings, but no reliable benchmark or comparable real-world test is supplied here. Do not treat the chip generation as proof of a particular speed advantage.

Camera hardware: compare the lenses, not just megapixels
Samsung lists a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), plus 5 MP ultra-wide and 2 MP macro cameras. Its front camera is 12 MP. Secondary sources list Nothing with a 50 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide and a 16 MP front camera; the cited comparisons do not establish a matching macro camera specification.
On paper, Nothing has the higher-resolution ultra-wide and selfie cameras, while Samsung explicitly lists OIS on its main camera and includes a macro unit. Those are hardware distinctions, not evidence that one phone produces better photos or video. Image processing, focus, stabilization performance and low-light results require comparable testing, which is not established by the cited material.

Battery capacity and charging: verify Nothing’s regional specification
Samsung’s announced battery capacity is 5,000 mAh, and Tech Advisor reports 25 W charging. For Phone (4b), PhoneArena lists 5,200 mAh, while 91mobiles and Gadgets 360 list 6,000 mAh; secondary comparisons report 33 W charging. Because those capacity figures conflict, confirm the exact model and regional specification with Nothing before using battery size to choose. Capacity and charging wattage also do not, by themselves, show how long a phone lasts or how quickly it charges in practice.
Software support: Samsung’s stated advantage is Android upgrades
Samsung says the A27 5G will receive up to six generations of Android/One UI upgrades and six years of security updates. Tech Advisor reports three Android-version upgrades and six years of security updates for the Nothing Phone (4b). These are different commitments: Android-version upgrades bring major OS releases, while security updates address security fixes. On the terms reported, Samsung is the better fit for someone prioritizing a longer stated OS-upgrade period; the reported security-update duration is the same.

Price difference depends on country and configuration
There is no single worldwide price gap. The figures below come from separate markets and listings, so compare only within the relevant market and check current availability, taxes, retailer offers and memory configuration before buying.
| Market and source | Samsung Galaxy A27 5G | Nothing Phone (4b) | How to read the comparison |
|---|---|---|---|
| Europe, MSRP displayed by PhoneArena | €349 for 6 GB RAM/128 GB storage; €439 for 8 GB/256 GB | €329 for 8 GB/128 GB; the listed 256 GB version is identified as India-only | The €349 and €329 listings differ in RAM, so they are not a like-for-like configuration comparison. |
| United Kingdom, Tech Advisor, July 8, 2026 | Starting at £319; 8 GB RAM/128 GB storage standard in that comparison | Starting at £299; 8 GB RAM/128 GB storage standard in that comparison | On the stated standard configurations, Nothing’s reported starting price is £20 lower. |
| India, 91mobiles marketplace snapshot | Approximately ₹33,999 | Approximately ₹32,244 | These were changing Amazon-listed prices when the 91mobiles page was accessed, not fixed MSRPs or guaranteed current prices. |
Price listings are from PhoneArena, Tech Advisor (July 8, 2026) and 91mobiles. The euro, pound and rupee figures reflect different markets and should not be combined into a universal price difference.

Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Galaxy A27 5G if
- You place the greatest weight on Samsung’s published commitment of up to six Android/One UI upgrade generations.
- You want the official Samsung specification for the main camera, including OIS, and the 5,000 mAh battery figure.
- The A27 5G is priced competitively for your region and the memory configuration you need.
Consider the Nothing Phone (4b) if
- The listed Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, 8 MP ultra-wide or 16 MP selfie camera better matches the hardware you are seeking, while recognizing that specifications do not prove real-world superiority.
- Its local price is lower for a configuration you have confirmed is comparable.
- You have checked the exact regional battery capacity and other specifications against Nothing’s own product information.
Neither phone can be called the tested overall winner on the available evidence. Tech Advisor’s July 8, 2026 comparison said thorough testing was still needed before reaching a solid conclusion. Use the support commitment, confirmed local specification and current like-for-like price as your decision points rather than treating a spec-sheet lead as a measured performance result.
