The Samsung Galaxy A26 5G and Nothing Phone (3a) Lite both offer 8GB RAM configurations, 5000mAh batteries, 120Hz-class AMOLED displays, and matching headline rear-camera resolutions. The clearest spec-sheet differences are Samsung’s longer stated software-upgrade commitment and IP67 rating, versus Nothing’s 33W charging and slightly larger display. Neither is the automatic winner: compare the same storage configuration at today’s local price, then decide which differences matter to you.

These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test results. The phones’ similar camera megapixel counts do not establish equal image quality, and the processor names alone do not prove which phone is faster. The manufacturers’ charging figures also do not guarantee a particular real-world charging time.
How much did each phone cost at launch?
There is no single worldwide price difference: prices vary by market, and the available figures are launch prices rather than current retailer quotes. Compare the same storage variant in your country before deciding which is better value.

UK and euro launch prices
Nothing announced launch prices of £249 for 8GB/128GB and £279 for 8GB/256GB in the UK. In select euro markets, its launch prices were €249 and €289 for those respective configurations. The sources do not establish matching Galaxy A26 prices for these markets, so they cannot support a like-for-like regional price comparison.
Display and performance
Display size and refresh rate
The Phone (3a) Lite has a 6.77-inch display, compared with 6.7 inches on the Galaxy A26 5G. Both are FHD+ AMOLED displays with a 120Hz-class refresh rate; Samsung describes its rate as “up to” 120Hz, while Nothing calls its display adaptive 120Hz. The diagonal difference is small, and specifications alone cannot determine which screen looks better in person.
Processor
Samsung lists an Exynos 1380, while Nothing lists a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro. Without comparable benchmark results or hands-on testing, those model names are not enough to declare a performance winner. If demanding games or particular apps matter to you, seek testing for the exact regional models and software versions you are considering.

Cameras: stabilization is a documented difference
Both phones list a 50MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, and 2MP macro rear-camera setup. Samsung explicitly specifies optical image stabilization (OIS) on the Galaxy A26’s main camera; Nothing’s cited specifications do not make the same claim for the Phone (3a) Lite. Nothing lists a 16MP front camera, compared with Samsung’s 13MP. Megapixel counts and the presence of OIS do not, by themselves, establish overall photo or video quality.
Battery and charging
Each phone is specified with a 5000mAh battery. Samsung lists 25W fast-charge support, while Nothing specifies 33W charging and 5W reverse wired charging. Actual battery life and charging experience depend on usage and conditions; the listed capacities and rates are not direct tests of endurance or time to full charge.
Durability and storage
Water and dust protection
Samsung lists an IP67 rating and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection for the Galaxy A26 5G; Nothing lists IP54 dust and water resistance for the Phone (3a) Lite. These ratings represent different levels of tested ingress protection, not a guarantee that either phone is indestructible. Do not treat an IP rating as a reason to deliberately immerse or expose a phone to liquids.

Expandable storage
Both manufacturers state support for microSD cards up to 2TB. Check the local model’s tray arrangement and SIM configuration before buying, especially if you need to use two SIMs and a memory card at the same time.

Software support: more major upgrades from Samsung
Samsung says the Galaxy A26 5G will receive six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Nothing commits to three major Android updates and six years of security patches for the Phone (3a) Lite. Both are manufacturer commitments, not independently audited future delivery; Samsung notes that update availability and timing can vary by model and market.
Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Galaxy A26 5G if
- You place more weight on Samsung’s stated six generations of OS upgrades than on Nothing’s three major Android updates.
- The published IP67 rating and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection matter more to you than the Nothing phone’s IP54 rating.
- You want a manufacturer-specified OIS main camera.
Choose the Phone (3a) Lite if
- You prefer its slightly larger 6.77-inch display.
- Its stated 33W charging or 5W reverse wired charging better suits your needs.
- You prefer Nothing’s product design and its current local price for the storage configuration you want.
For either choice, check the current local price, stock, exact regional model, and storage variant. The launch-price figures above are historical, and the better value depends on what each phone costs where you are shopping now.
