The Samsung Galaxy A26 5G and Galaxy M36 5G have closely matched headline specifications in India: both use Samsung’s Exynos 1380, list a 120Hz FHD+ Super AMOLED display, and pair a 50MP OIS main camera with 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro cameras. The A26’s clearest documented advantage is IP67 dust and water resistance with Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front and back. The M36’s launch prices were lower, but those are historical introductory prices, not proof of a lower price today.
For a fair buying decision, compare the same RAM and storage configuration at current checkout in your market. The prices and product details below are for India-market versions; Samsung says specifications, availability, features, bands, and software timing may vary by region.

Which phone has better specs?
Performance: no proven speed winner
Samsung’s India launch announcements identify the Exynos 1380 in both phones. That shared processor label does not establish that they perform identically in every task, but the available evidence does not support declaring one faster. A meaningful speed verdict would require comparable independent testing.

Display and cameras: similar listed hardware
Both phones list the same display size class, resolution, panel type, and maximum refresh rate. Their listed camera resolutions and layout also match, including optical image stabilization on the main rear camera. Matching specifications do not prove equal brightness, image quality, or results in every shooting condition; no head-to-head display or camera test is established here.

Samsung lists a typical 5000mAh battery and up to 17 hours of video playback for each model. The playback figure is a manufacturer estimate, not a comparative battery test; Samsung notes that actual life varies with usage and network conditions. Samsung says the M36’s 25W fast charger is sold separately. The A26 purchase page lists the phone, data cable, and ejection pin in the box and says the travel adapter is not included. Check the box contents and charger requirements with the local seller.

Build protection: the A26 has the documented advantage
Samsung rates the A26 IP67 and says Gorilla Glass Victus+ protects its front and rear. Samsung explains that IP67 refers to laboratory immersion in up to 1 meter of fresh water for up to 30 minutes; resistance can diminish with wear, and beach or pool use is not advised. The reviewed M36 India material names Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection but does not establish an IP rating. That means the A26 has the supported water- and dust-resistance advantage; it does not justify a broader claim about the M36’s rating in every market.
Size and software support
The M36 is listed as 3g lighter, while both phones have a listed thickness of 7.7mm. The difference in weight and dimensions is small. Samsung advertises six generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates for both models. Rollout schedules and availability vary by market; Samsung frames the M36 statement as its current plan.

Choose the Galaxy A26 if protection is a priority
- You want a manufacturer-stated IP67 rating and front-and-back Gorilla Glass Victus+.
- You prefer to make the choice based on a documented protection difference rather than assume a performance or camera winner from matching headline specs.
- The current local price fits your budget after checking the exact configuration and checkout offers.
Consider the Galaxy M36 if its live price is lower
- You find it at a lower current price than the A26 for the same RAM and storage, rather than relying on its 2025 introductory prices.
- You want the listed 8GB/256GB option and have confirmed it is available from a seller with suitable warranty and return terms.
- You have included the cost of a compatible charger if you need one.
Before paying, compare the whole purchase
- Match RAM and storage; a lower price for 6GB/128GB is not a direct comparison with an 8GB/128GB or 8GB/256GB model.
- Confirm the seller, warranty, return policy, stock, and current offer in your country.
- Check network-band compatibility and regional software availability if buying an imported unit.
- Verify whether a charger is included and budget for one if necessary.
