The Samsung Galaxy A26 5G is worth considering if you want a large AMOLED screen, water-and-dust resistance, expandable storage, and a long stated software-support window. Its main trade-offs are less convincing rear cameras, a single speaker, and—according to one review—a charger that is not included. Whether it is a good buy depends on its current price and the priorities of your local market.
What are the Galaxy A26’s main strengths and weaknesses?
| Strengths | Trade-offs |
|---|---|
| 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a maximum 120 Hz refresh rate, according to Samsung UK | 91mobiles criticizes the waterdrop notch and thick chin as dated design choices |
| IP67 water and dust resistance listed by Samsung UK | 91mobiles says the rear cameras need improvement |
| microSD card slot, noted by GSMArena | Single speaker, according to 91mobiles |
| Samsung UK states six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates | 91mobiles reports that its reviewed package did not include a charger; box contents can vary by market |
| 91mobiles praises the AMOLED display, software, IP67 rating, and selfie camera | Suitability and value depend on local pricing, configuration, and competing offers |
The 91mobiles review, published 17 April 2025 and updated 9 May 2025, gives the phone an expert rating of 7.6/10. That is the publication’s review judgment, not a lab result or consensus score. Its findings are useful for weighing the phone’s compromises, but they do not establish current value in every market. Read the 91mobiles review.
How good is the Galaxy A26 display?
Samsung UK lists a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen with a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. That combination is the clearest reason to consider the A26 if you value a large, vivid panel for video, reading, and everyday scrolling. The 91mobiles reviewer also praised the display, while noting that the waterdrop-style notch and thick chin make the front look less modern than some alternatives.
Refresh rate is a maximum specification, not a promise that every app or screen activity runs at 120 Hz. Samsung’s cited specification is for its UK listing; check the product page for the exact model sold in your region. See Samsung UK’s Galaxy A26 specifications.

Is it durable, and how long is software support?
Samsung UK lists an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. This is a useful protection feature, but it does not make a phone indestructible; avoid treating an ingress-protection rating as a guarantee against every kind of damage or exposure.
Samsung’s UK product page says the A26 will receive six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. This is Samsung’s stated support commitment, not independent confirmation that every future update has already been delivered. Support terms and configurations can differ by region, so check the local Samsung listing for the exact model before buying.
What are the camera and audio compromises?
Rear cameras
91mobiles identifies the rear cameras as an area needing improvement, while praising the selfie camera. The evidence does not establish a universal camera ranking or how the phone performs against every current rival. If photography is a priority, compare recent sample images and camera reviews for the specific models and regional versions you are considering.

Speaker
The A26 has a single speaker, according to 91mobiles. That matters if you often listen without headphones or use the phone for video in a room; buyers who mainly use earbuds may care less.
Charger in the box
91mobiles reports that its reviewed package did not include a charger. That is not proof of universal package contents: check the retailer’s listing or ask the seller what is included for your local model. If there is no charger and you need one, account for that separately when comparing the total purchase cost.
Who should buy the Galaxy A26?
It may suit you if
- You want a large AMOLED screen and value a 120 Hz maximum refresh rate.
- IP67 resistance and a microSD slot are important to you.
- You prefer Samsung’s software and value the support period Samsung states for its UK listing.
- You are comfortable with the camera and single-speaker trade-offs at the price available to you.
Look elsewhere if
- Rear-camera quality is your top priority.
- You want stereo speakers or a charger guaranteed in the box.
- A competing phone offers a better mix of performance, charging, cameras, and remaining software support for a similar local price.
How does it compare with alternatives?
GSMArena names the Poco X7 Pro, Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G, Motorola Edge 50 Fusion, and Samsung Galaxy A55 as possible alternatives. Those names are starting points, not a current ranking: GSMArena’s value assessments reflect review-time market conditions, and prices and availability change by country.

Quick Recap
What should you check before ordering?
- Confirm the exact model and configuration. Check the model code, storage, RAM, carrier compatibility, and regional availability on the listing for the phone you intend to buy.
- Verify what is in the box. Because package contents may vary, confirm whether a charger is included rather than assuming the reviewed bundle applies to your market.
- Compare the full local cost. Include any charger or other accessory you need, then compare the result with similarly configured alternatives.
- Check case and screen-protector fit. Samsung UK lists Clear Case, Card Slot Case, Rugged Case, and Screen Protector options. Confirm that an accessory listing explicitly fits the Galaxy A26 5G and is available in your region.
