The Samsung Galaxy A17 5G is the stronger fit if you value a sharper AMOLED screen and the update policy reported for it; the OnePlus N6 5G stands out for its larger battery, faster listed charging and 120Hz refresh rate. In India, comparison-site price snapshots put the A17 below the N6, but they vary by site and listing, so there is no reliable fixed price gap.
At a glance: what separates the A17 and N6?
| Feature | Samsung Galaxy A17 5G | OnePlus N6 5G |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.7-inch Super AMOLED, 1080 × 2340, 90Hz (91mobiles comparison listing) | 6.8-inch LCD, 720 × 1570, 120Hz (91mobiles comparison listing; confirm exact variant) |
| Processor | Exynos 1330 (91mobiles comparison listing) | MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex (OnePlus India product page) |
| Rear cameras | 50MP + 5MP + 2MP (91mobiles comparison listing) | 50MP main camera (OnePlus India product page; other camera details are not stated there) |
| Battery | 5000mAh (91mobiles comparison listing) | 8000mAh typical / 7780mAh rated (OnePlus India product page) |
| Wired charging | 25W (91mobiles comparison listing) | 45W SuperVOOC (OnePlus India product page) |
| Software | Not stated in the cited comparison specifications | OxygenOS 16 (OnePlus India product page) |
The listed figures show a trade-off rather than a universal winner: the A17 has higher display resolution and an AMOLED panel, while the N6 has a faster refresh rate and larger listed diagonal. The A17’s specifications and configurations below are from a secondary comparison page, not independently verified against the exact Indian SKU. The N6’s named hardware is documented by OnePlus itself.
Which display is better for your use?
The A17’s listed 1080 × 2340 resolution is substantially higher than the N6’s listed 720 × 1570, which should make fine text and detailed images look more defined at similar viewing distances. Its Super AMOLED panel is also a different display technology from the N6’s listed LCD. Choose the A17 if sharpness and AMOLED are more important than maximum refresh rate.

A higher refresh rate can make supported scrolling and motion appear smoother, but it does not by itself establish better picture quality or battery life. OnePlus says supported refresh rate can vary with conditions and app or game settings.

Battery and charging: larger capacity is not a runtime test
OnePlus specifies the N6 at 8000mAh typical and 7780mAh rated, with 45W SuperVOOC charging. OnePlus says its battery and performance claims are based on OnePlus Test Lab data and that actual experience may vary with network, settings, usage, recharge count and device age. The A17’s 5000mAh battery and 25W charging figures are listed by 91mobiles.
These capacity and wattage figures favor the N6 on paper, but they do not establish how many hours either phone lasts or how long a full charge takes in ordinary use. No independent, comparable endurance or charging-time result is established in the cited sources.

Software support and long-term use
91mobiles reports six years of OS and security updates for the A17, compared with two years of OS updates and three years of security updates for the N6. Those are comparison-site terms, not an independently confirmed commitment from the manufacturers in the sources cited here; verify the support policy for the precise Indian model before buying if update longevity is decisive.

Camera and performance: specifications, not a head-to-head test
The comparison listing gives the A17 a 50MP + 5MP + 2MP rear-camera setup, while OnePlus identifies a 50MP main camera for the N6. Megapixel counts and camera count do not show which phone takes better photos; the available evidence does not provide independently tested image samples or a controlled camera comparison.
The listed processors are Exynos 1330 for the A17 and Dimensity 6360 Apex for the N6. No independent cross-device benchmark or performance test is established in the cited sources, so these names alone are not a sound basis for claiming one is faster in everyday use or games.

Check the exact RAM and storage, seller, stock and warranty region before comparing checkout prices. Samsung’s separate US MSRP sheet, effective March 2026, lists the unlocked 128GB Galaxy A17 5G in Black at $199.99 and a 128GB healthcare edition at $229.99. Those are US manufacturer list prices, not Indian prices or like-for-like marketplace offers.
Which one should you buy?
Choose the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G if
- You prefer the listed 1080 × 2340 Super AMOLED display over the N6’s lower-resolution LCD.
- The reported longer update term matters to you, after confirming it for the Indian SKU.
- You find a suitable A17 configuration at a lower current price from a seller and region you trust.
Choose the OnePlus N6 5G if
- You prioritize the larger listed battery capacity and 45W charging specification.
- You want a 120Hz refresh-rate option and the slightly larger listed screen diagonal.
- You prefer OxygenOS 16 or OnePlus’s stated 6GB/4GB model fluency-testing claims, while treating them as manufacturer claims rather than independent results.
For an accurate decision, compare matching RAM/storage variants and current India listings, then weigh the A17’s display and reported support terms against the N6’s battery capacity and refresh rate. The cited material does not establish a universal winner on real-world speed, endurance or camera quality.
