To change the system language on a Samsung Galaxy A12, open Settings > General management > Language, then select the language you want to use. You can also add a language without making it the default, remove an added language, or—in supported software and apps—set an individual app’s language.
Change the Galaxy A12’s default language
- Open Settings.
- Tap General management, then Language.
- Choose a language already in the list. If the language you want is not listed, tap Add language, select it, then choose Set as default.
- If a confirmation prompt appears, tap Apply to use the selected language. If you added a language but want to keep the current default, choose Keep current instead.
Menu names and screens can vary with the Galaxy A12 model, carrier, and installed software. If you cannot find a label, search Settings for “Language.”
Add or remove a language
Add a language without changing the default
- Go to Settings > General management > Language > Add language.
- Choose the language. If it is not shown, tap More options (the three vertical dots), then All languages.
- When prompted, choose Keep current to add the language without switching the phone’s default, or Set as default to switch to it.
Remove an added language
Open Settings > General management > Language, tap Edit, select the language to remove, tap Delete, and confirm. Samsung’s instructions say Edit appears only when more than one language has been added.
Set a different language for one app
Samsung documents app-specific language settings for Android 13 with One UI 5. On a device with the option, open Settings > General management > App languages, select an app, then choose one of the languages offered for it.

This setting is not available for every app. The app developer determines whether an app supports language selection, and the menu can also depend on the installed software and device configuration. If App languages is missing, use the phone’s system language setting instead.

Galaxy A12 manuals are not identical across regions and models. For example, Samsung’s US AT&T support page lists Android 11 documentation for model SM-A125U, while Samsung support pages for regional variants list Android 12 and Android 13 manuals. These listings do not establish that every A12 received those same releases.
