Samsung announced on October 14, 2026, that several Galaxy AI tools are gaining new language support. Hungarian and Malay are being added to Call Assist, Note Assist, Interpreter and Transcript Assist, while Now Nudge gains eight languages and Bixby adds Polish, Thai and Vietnamese. Samsung says Galaxy AI and Live Translate now cover 24 languages overall, although availability still depends on the feature, device, country and rollout timing.
Which Galaxy AI features support Hungarian and Malay?
Hungarian and Malay are the two additions shared by four tools:
- Call Assist and Live Translate: translate supported phone calls in real time.
- Interpreter: translate a two-way, in-person conversation as it happens.
- Note Assist: translate and organize notes, including generated summaries.
- Transcript Assist: turn speech into text, then provide translation and summaries.
Samsung describes the expansion as a way to bring Galaxy AI experiences to more people in their own language. The company’s announcement states: “Samsung is expanding language support for Galaxy AI and Bixby, bringing these experiences to more users in their own language.”

Samsung says Now Nudge reaches 24 supported languages. The eight additions are languages newly listed for this feature, not eight extra languages beyond the 24-language total.

Can Bixby understand Thai or Vietnamese?
Yes. Bixby is adding Polish, Thai and Vietnamese, bringing its supported-language count to 12. The rollout for these Bixby languages begins October 14, 2026. Bixby uses natural-language requests to control compatible phone settings and functions, but the commands it can execute depend on the Galaxy model, software and regional configuration.

The 24-language headline describes Galaxy AI support across Samsung’s lineup of features. It does not mean every language is available in every tool, on every phone or in every country.
When will the new languages arrive?
Bixby’s Polish, Thai and Vietnamese support starts rolling out on October 14, 2026. Samsung says the other Galaxy AI language additions will follow in the coming weeks, so there is no single worldwide availability date. Regional software releases, carrier approval and account or device settings can affect when an individual phone receives them.

Some users may also need to download a language pack from Settings before a language appears in a particular feature. If Hungarian or Malay is missing after your phone updates, check the feature’s language settings and available downloads, then confirm that your model and region are supported.
Does Live Translate work in Malay?
Malay is being added to Call Assist, including Live Translate, as part of this expansion. In practice, both the calling feature and the selected language must be supported on the specific Galaxy phone, software version, country and carrier. Samsung’s 24-language total should therefore be treated as a support headline rather than a guarantee of universal Malay translation on every Galaxy device.

Using Interpreter with Galaxy Buds3 Pro
Samsung documents Galaxy Buds3 Pro as supporting Galaxy AI Interpreter and Live Translate when paired with a compatible Galaxy phone. The earbuds can play the interpreted conversation audio, which is useful for two-person conversations, but Interpreter is not provided by the earbuds alone. Phone compatibility, language availability and regional support still apply. Current availability and pricing for the earbuds require checking at the time of purchase.
