Samsung earbuds can play for anywhere from up to 6 hours to up to 26 hours per charge, depending on the model and Samsung’s stated measure. A charged case can add more listening time. Those are manufacturer estimates for playback—not a prediction of how many years the earbuds will last. Samsung’s published guidance reviewed here does not give a universal service-life or battery-replacement interval.
How long Samsung earbuds last on one charge
Samsung’s US product specifications give the following maximum playback estimates. They are “up to” figures, not guaranteed runtimes: Samsung says actual battery life and charging time can vary with the model and how it is used. The case figures also use different wording by model, so the table preserves Samsung’s stated measure rather than treating every number as the same kind of total.
| Model | Samsung-stated playback | With a fully charged case |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy Buds3 | Up to 24 hours of play time | Up to 30 hours |
| Galaxy Buds3 Pro | Up to 26 hours of play time | Up to 30 hours |
| Galaxy Buds FE | Up to 7 hours per charge | Up to 26 hours |
| Galaxy Buds2 Pro | Up to 8 hours per charge | Up to 30 hours |
| Galaxy Buds2 | Up to 7.5 hours per charge | Up to 29 hours more |
| Galaxy Buds Pro | Up to 8 hours per charge | Up to 28 hours more |
| Galaxy Buds Live | Up to 8 hours per charge | Up to 29 hours more |
| Galaxy Buds+ | Up to 11 hours of play time | Up to 11 hours more |
| Original Galaxy Buds | Up to 6 hours of play time | Up to 7 hours more |
These are Samsung specifications, not independent test results. For models where Samsung says the case adds a stated number of hours, that number is additional listening time; where it gives a total, the table reports that total. See Samsung’s battery-life and charging guidance for model-specific details.
How many years Samsung earbuds last
Samsung’s reviewed official pages do not establish a typical number of years, charge cycles, or a fixed replacement interval for Galaxy Buds. A new pair’s rated playback time cannot tell you how long its battery will retain useful capacity. Battery aging varies with usage and environment, and the available guidance does not provide a controlled, long-term comparison among models. It would therefore be misleading to rank these earbuds by years of battery life from their new-device specifications alone.

What affects battery life over time
Usage and temperature
Samsung’s general Galaxy battery-care advice says usage patterns and environment affect battery lifespan. Continuous use or charging in extreme temperatures can accelerate deterioration. Samsung’s Buds3 and Buds3 Pro guidance also points to temperature exposure and usage as factors in faster depletion, and recommends placing earbuds in their case when they are not in use. These are care recommendations, not a promise that a particular habit will add a specific number of years.
Long periods without use
For an extended period of storage, Samsung’s general Galaxy guidance advises keeping the device in a cool, non-humid place and cautions that leaving an unused device depleted for a long time may lead to faster battery decline. This is broad Galaxy battery advice rather than a Buds-specific lifespan test. See Samsung’s battery-care guidance.

How to check a battery or charging problem
- Check each earbud’s charge. Depending on your device and software, check Bluetooth settings or the Galaxy Wearable app. Samsung’s Galaxy Buds troubleshooting guide covers battery and charging checks.
- Inspect the earbuds and contacts. Look for dirt, moisture, or visible damage on the earbuds and charging contacts. Keep the case and contacts clean and dry; debris or a poor connection can interfere with charging.
- Use charging accessories appropriate for your exact model. Charging features differ among models. Samsung says compatible phones with Wireless PowerShare and Qi-compatible charging pads can wirelessly charge some earbuds; check the model’s instructions before choosing a charging method. Samsung recommends approved accessories, and its Ireland guidance warns that third-party chargers and cables can cause overheating or product damage. A suitable cable or adapter may help with charging, but it cannot reverse normal battery aging. See Samsung Ireland’s charger guidance.
- Contact Samsung if the problem persists. If an earbud still drains unusually fast or fails to charge after inspection, contact Samsung support or an authorized service center. Warranty terms and service options depend on country and product. Samsung’s US troubleshooting guidance says visibly damaged earbuds are not covered under warranty and may need replacement.
How to judge whether a model suits your listening habits
- Compare the per-charge specification for the exact model, not a different generation or variant.
- Check the case figure too, while noting whether Samsung presents it as a total runtime or additional hours.
- Allow for your own usage and settings; Samsung says real-world playback varies by model and use.
- Verify charging methods and case compatibility against the model-specific instructions.
- If runtime has fallen, check charging, cleanliness, and damage before assuming the battery alone is at fault. The available specifications do not establish long-term degradation rates across models.
