The thermistor’s location and the steps needed to reach it depend on your Samsung dryer’s exact model. Find the complete model code first, then use the matching Samsung repair guide or manual; a location or disassembly sequence for another model may not apply.
Find your dryer’s complete model code first
Look for the model label on the dryer and record the full code, including any suffix. Use that code—not just “Samsung dryer”—when searching for documentation or a compatible replacement sensor.
Samsung’s U.S. dryer support page provides model or product-name lookup, manuals, and a repair-request route. Samsung model pages can also list model-specific repair guides and user manuals; for example, the DVE45T6005W/AC support page lists documentation for that model. Confirm that the code on your appliance matches the documentation before following it.

There is no single location or access route established for every Samsung dryer. A thermistor is a temperature-sensing component, but its position and the panels or fasteners involved in reaching it must be confirmed in the service documentation for your exact model.

Use an error code as a clue, not a diagnosis
For selected DVE models, the DVE45A6400W/A3 user-manual result associates code tC5 with thermistor 2 resistance that is very low or very high and advises contacting a Samsung service center if the code remains. This points to a sensor-circuit issue; it does not by itself confirm that the thermistor component is the only cause. Codes and diagnostic procedures can differ by model. Do not select a thermistor solely because it is described as a Samsung dryer part. The available model-specific information does not establish a universal thermistor part number. Check the parts documentation for your exact dryer code and confirm that the replacement sensor is listed as compatible before ordering.
