Samsung may expand its 2027 Galaxy Z range to six devices, according to a report published October 15, 2026. The newly named possibilities are the Galaxy Z Fold 9 Pro and Galaxy Z Slide, alongside rumored Flip, Fold, Ultra and TriFold models. However, Samsung has not announced a six-phone lineup, and competing reports disagree about the final model count and names.
What the six-device report claims
Android Authority reported that a tip from TheGalox points to six Samsung foldables in 2027:
| Rumored device | What is currently established |
|---|---|
| Galaxy Z Flip 9 | Named as the next-generation compact clamshell foldable. |
| Galaxy Z Fold 9 | Named as the standard book-style foldable. |
| Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra | Named as a higher-end book-style model. |
| Galaxy Z TriFold 2 | Named as a successor to Samsung’s three-panel foldable concept. |
| Galaxy Z Fold 9 Pro | One of the two newly named surprises; the source supplied no specifications. |
| Galaxy Z Slide | The second newly named surprise; the source supplied no specifications. |
The report labels the lineup unverified. It does not establish prices, display sizes, cameras, processors, battery capacities, launch dates or regional availability.

Earlier ETNews-based coverage also discussed as many as six devices, but its concrete description was different: a regular Fold, a Fold Ultra, a Flip, a TriFold successor and two wide-format foldables. A separate ETNews report summarized by SamMobile described five devices: Galaxy Z Fold 9, Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 9, Galaxy Z TriFold 2 and an unnamed second wide-format foldable.

That makes the October report a competing leak scenario rather than confirmation of the earlier plan. It adds the names Fold 9 Pro and Z Slide, but it does not independently verify whether either name replaces, describes or coexists with the previously rumored wide-format phones.

What Samsung has actually confirmed
Samsung’s newsroom says the company unveiled its Infinity Flex Display in 2018, launched the first Galaxy Fold in 2019 and introduced the Galaxy Z Flip in early 2020. Tarik Akad, Head of Mobile at Samsung Electronics Canada, said: “Our job has always been to make the foldable technology feel more natural, more intuitive and more useful.”
That history confirms sustained investment in foldables, not a 2027 product list. Samsung has not confirmed six models, any of the rumored names, specifications, pricing or a launch schedule.
Why the rumored wide-format phones matter
HardwareZone reported that one wide-format design could target widescreen video. A conventional 4:3-style inner display can show black bars when playing YouTube or Netflix content made for wider screens. A broader unfolded panel could reduce that unused space and make video viewing a more central reason to choose the device.
Rank #2
- BIGGER, YET SLIMMER THAN EVER: Who would’ve guessed that wider could also be lighter? The design of Galaxy Z Fold7 is refined to feel like a traditional smartphone with its expanded cover display.
- BEST CAMERA ON A FOLD YET: You asked for more – now you can have the most. Galaxy Z Fold7 now boasts an ultra-premium 200MP camera with Pro-Visual Engine so you can effortlessly take incredibly detailed pics.
- SCREENSHARE FOR STREAMLINED ASSISTANCE: Intrigued by something you see? Go Live with Google Gemini, then screenshare or point your camera at it for additional info or assistance on the fly.¹
- DO AND VIEW MORE, ALL AT ONCE: With an 8” screen that allows you to view up to three windows at once, Galaxy Z Fold7 is the ultimate device for seeing and doing more.²
- ALL THE POWER AND SPEED YOU NEED Smoothly run your day with the power and speed of Galaxy Z Fold7. With its customized Snapdragon 8 Elite processor for Galaxy, you can stream your favorite shows, edit photos, scroll social feeds and more with ease.³
ETNews did not explain how its two wide-format models would differ. They could represent separate screen proportions, mechanisms or market tiers, but those distinctions are not established by the available reporting.
Where TriFold 2 and Z Slide fit
TriFold successor
A March 2026 9to5Google report, citing a Naver leaker, described a possible TriFold successor for mid-2027. The leak characterized it as potentially lighter but somewhat thicker than the first generation. Those are unconfirmed design claims, not Samsung specifications.
Slideable phone
The same report associated a slideable phone with late 2027 or 2028 and suggested an expansion to about seven inches. Separately, Samsung Display demonstrated a Mobile Slidable concept at Mobile World Congress 2026 that expanded from 5.1 to 6.7 inches. A display prototype demonstrates a technology direction; it does not confirm a commercial Galaxy Z Slide.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsA slideable phone would enlarge its screen without the center crease and two-panel hinge arrangement of a book-style foldable, but the leak does not establish durability, thickness, software behavior or production status.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is still unknown about Samsung’s 2027 foldables
- Whether Samsung will release five, six or another number of devices.
- Whether “Fold 9 Pro” and “Z Slide” are final retail names.
- Display dimensions, aspect ratios and refresh rates.
- Hinge, crease, sliding mechanism and water- or dust-resistance details.
- Camera hardware, processor, battery capacity and charging.
- Prices, launch dates, carrier support and country availability.
- Software features, update policies and accessory compatibility.
These gaps matter because form factor alone does not show where a model would sit in Samsung’s range or whether it would be practical for everyday use.
Should you buy a Galaxy Z Fold8 or wait?
There is no confirmed 2027 specification or release date to use as a buying guarantee. If you need a foldable now, evaluate the current Galaxy Z Fold8 on its actual price, warranty, durability coverage, camera performance and software support rather than on rumored successors. If you can wait, do so because the rumored lineup could introduce more screen shapes and mechanisms, but treat that as an option to monitor—not a promised launch.
- Buy now: choose the current model if you need its large inner display and can accept today’s hardware and price.
- Wait: hold off if a wider video-oriented screen, a lighter TriFold design or a sliding display would materially change your decision.
- Do not prepay for a rumor: avoid deposits or accessories based solely on leaked names until Samsung publishes model and compatibility details.
Bottom line on the six-foldable claim
The two surprise names are Galaxy Z Fold 9 Pro and Galaxy Z Slide, and a six-device 2027 Galaxy Z range is plausible according to current leaks. It is not a Samsung announcement. Earlier reporting points to different five- and six-device combinations, especially around two wide-format phones, so the lineup should be considered unsettled until Samsung confirms it.
