Samsung Certified Re-Newed is Samsung’s refurbishment program for selected Galaxy phones. In the U.S., Samsung says the phones receive a 147-point inspection, a certified new battery, a new IMEI, current software and a one-year limited manufacturer warranty. Samsung added the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra to the U.S. lineup on September 14, 2026. Availability and terms differ by market, so check Samsung’s current local listing before choosing a model or relying on a price or warranty detail.
What does Samsung Certified Re-Newed include?
For U.S. Certified Re-Newed phones, Samsung describes refurbishment at a Samsung facility, followed by a 147-point quality inspection, cleaning and software update. Each phone receives a certified new battery and a new IMEI. Samsung says genuine parts are used when a component does not operate normally or needs replacement for appearance; it does not say every component is replaced in every phone.
Samsung’s September 14, 2026 U.S. announcement says the S26-series devices are assembled by Samsung engineers using genuine Samsung parts and a brand-new battery. The announcement describes the included warranty as the same one-year limited warranty offered on new smartphones. Those details should be checked against the specific product listing and market, since regional terms can differ. Samsung’s S26-series announcement

Which Samsung phones are available as Certified Re-Newed?
Models and stock change. Samsung announced that the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra joined its U.S. Certified Re-Newed lineup on September 14, 2026. That announcement does not establish current stock or pricing for every configuration.
Availability is not uniform worldwide, and the program name can vary. On January 13, 2026, Samsung announced the Galaxy S25 series for Certified Re-Newed in Germany and the UK, and under the name “Refurbished Premium by Samsung” in France. Samsung described those launches as exclusive to Samsung.com in select markets at the time of announcement. Samsung’s European program announcement

- It offers a 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with adaptive 48-120 Hz refresh rate plus up to ~ 1750 nits peak brightness and “Vision Booster,” meaning the screen stays bright and viewable even in strong sunlight — great if you use your phone outdoors a lot.
Before buying, check the local Samsung store for the exact model, storage, color, network or carrier status, and whether the offer is actually in stock. A model listed in one country may not be sold through the program in another.

Samsung describes a one-year limited manufacturer warranty for U.S. Certified Re-Newed devices. Its U.S. S26 announcement says the warranty matches the one offered on new smartphones. Samsung explicitly says warranty terms may vary by country or market, so read the warranty linked from the local listing rather than assuming the U.S. term applies elsewhere.

It will NOT work with other CDMA carriers, and it is also not compatible with their MVNO (Visible, Xfinity Mobile, US Mobile, Cricket Wireless, etc).

Samsung says U.S. buyers can add Care+ to eligible Certified Re-Newed devices. Treat it as optional coverage, not a replacement for the included manufacturer warranty; check the current plan price, eligibility, exclusions and claims process for your market before adding it.
How is Samsung Certified Re-Newed different from used or other refurbished phones?
A used phone may be sold as-is or with terms set by its seller. A third-party refurbished phone can also vary in who inspected it, which parts were replaced, battery condition, cosmetic grade, warranty provider and return policy. Samsung’s program provides Samsung’s own stated inspection, battery, parts and warranty assurances for eligible models, but those assurances should not be presumed for other refurbished listings.

- The Galaxy S21 FE sports a sleek polycarbonate back with a premium matte finish that resists fingerprints and feels smooth in hand, giving it a stylish yet practical design.
Samsung’s U.S. page specifies a 147-point inspection. Separately, Samsung’s January 2026 European expansion announcement describes more than 100 quality tests. These are claims tied to different regional descriptions; they are not interchangeable inspection counts. Samsung also notes that European products may have slight external blemishes that do not affect function or performance.
Is Samsung Certified Re-Newed worth it?
It may suit buyers who want a refurbished Galaxy with Samsung’s stated battery and inspection process and a Samsung-backed warranty, but value depends on the current price and exact terms. There is no basis to assume it is cheaper than buying new or better value than every third-party refurbished option. Compare like with like: the same model and storage, final price after eligible trade-in, warranty provider and duration, cosmetic condition, return costs, software support, and carrier compatibility.
