Saints Row: The Third Remastered was announced for iPhone, iPad and Android on October 29, 2026, but it had not launched when the latest official information was checked on October 13. Feral Interactive confirms customizable touchscreen controls, external gamepad support, and keyboard-and-mouse support. It does not yet publish the mobile control layout, a complete settings list, or recommended values, so no responsible guide can name verified “best” settings before the live build is available.

This guide separates confirmed facts from items you should inspect in the released game. It also explains compatibility, pricing, input choices and a safe first-session process without inventing menu options or claiming device testing that has not occurred.

What is confirmed about the mobile controls

Feral describes the port as optimized for mobile and adapted to touchscreen with customizable controls. Its September 3, 2026 announcement says: “Saints Row: The Third Remastered on iOS & Android puts all this in the palm of your hand — expertly optimised for mobile and adapted to touchscreen with customisable controls.” The Android and iOS store descriptions repeat touchscreen customization and external-input support; the iOS listing labels the app “Controller Supported.”

That establishes that you should be able to use on-screen controls and an external controller, but it does not establish how either layout works on a particular phone or tablet. Feral also says keyboard and mouse are supported. The practical connection method, button map and prompts for a specific accessory are not documented in the available listings.

Details that remain undisclosed

  • The default touch layout and a full control map.
  • Whether every control can be moved, resized, faded or reassigned.
  • Camera, aiming, sensitivity, aim-assist, vibration and accessibility options.
  • Graphics-quality, frame-rate or performance controls.
  • The exact menu path for changing controls.
  • Tested comfort or performance on a particular phone, tablet, controller or screen size.

Therefore, any article claiming a specific button position, sensitivity number or graphics preset as the mobile version’s verified fix would be guessing. The recommendations below are inspection steps for the released game, not reports of hands-on testing.

Touchscreen or controller? Choose your first input method

Both touchscreen input and external controllers are officially supported. Neither is documented as universally superior, and no independent comparison or measured latency test is available. Your screen size, grip, accessory availability and personal preference will matter more than a claimed universal setting.

Input method Hardware What to expect Best first check
Touchscreen Only the compatible phone or tablet Virtual controls occupy part of the display, while their exact placement and customization range are not yet published. Inspect the layout in a safe area and confirm that movement, camera, attack and interaction controls are reachable without covering important view.
External gamepad/controller A compatible controller paired with the mobile device Fingers stay off the screen. Feral confirms support, but the mobile button mapping and pairing instructions are not specified. Connect before a difficult mission, check that the game recognizes input, and verify the on-screen prompts match the buttons you intend to use.
Keyboard and mouse Supported mobile keyboard and mouse setup Feral says this input is supported, but the sources do not explain connection requirements or the practical control scheme. Confirm that both devices are recognized and test movement, camera and menu navigation before relying on them.

A controller is optional, not a stated requirement. If you want one, shop by the general category “Bluetooth mobile game controller” or “phone gamepad” and verify compatibility with your device and operating system; no particular model has been tested or endorsed by the available evidence.

Settings to inspect first after launch

The live options menu must be checked before anyone can give a verified list of settings to change. Use this sequence on your own installed build and record the exact labels and values shown. Menu names and availability can vary by version.

  1. Open the controls or options area. From the title screen or pause screen, look for a controls, input or options entry. The exact path has not been published, so do not assume a particular menu name.
  2. Review the touch layout before starting a demanding mission. Look for controls that can actually be moved, resized, made more or less opaque, or reassigned. Change only options present in your build, then save and test them.
  3. Test movement and camera behavior in a low-risk area. Check walking and driving, camera movement, aiming, shooting and interaction. This reveals whether your thumb placement causes accidental presses or blocks the view.
  4. Adjust one variable at a time. If the game exposes sensitivity, camera speed, aim assistance, vibration or related controls, make a small change, play briefly, and keep the value only if it feels better. No recommended number is currently verified.
  5. Check display and performance controls if offered. Look for quality, resolution, frame-rate, battery or thermal options, but do not assume the mobile port includes them. Record the device model, operating-system version and game build when comparing behavior.
  6. Recheck prompts with an external input device. Pair the controller or keyboard and mouse, confirm that the game detects it, and verify button prompts before entering a mission where a wrong mapping could cost progress.
  7. Save a known-good layout. If the game provides presets or profiles, keep the untouched default until your customized arrangement works. That gives you a recovery point if a change makes menus or driving controls difficult.

This process is deliberately evidence-safe: it tells you how to evaluate the settings that are actually present, rather than presenting undocumented controls as facts.

Compatibility and launch timing

As of October 13, 2026, the game was announced or listed for release rather than available everywhere. Feral’s September 3 announcement gives October 29, 2026 as the iOS and Android arrival date, and the Canadian App Store page displayed “Expected Oct 29, 2026.” Store availability can differ by country and can change, so check the current official listing immediately before buying.

Platform Published requirement or status Important qualification
Android Android 13 or later Google Play warns that rare device-identification cases can allow an unsupported purchase. Seeing a purchase button is therefore not absolute proof that the phone is compatible.
iPhone/iPad iOS 18 or later The Canadian App Store listing asks users to expand the description and confirm that their device is supported. Store requirements and eligible-device lists can be updated.
Launch Announced for October 29, 2026 The date was still in the future on October 13; regional release timing may differ.

Before purchase, update the device to a supported operating-system version, open the current store page for your country, and confirm the model appears in the publisher’s compatibility information. Do not infer performance from the operating-system minimum alone; no device benchmark is available here.

Price and included content

The mobile release is a premium purchase. Store prices are examples captured from particular storefronts, currencies and dates, not a universal price promise.

Storefront example Displayed price How to interpret it
Google Play $19.99 / £12.99 / €15.99 The listing notes that regional prices may vary. These figures were displayed when the listing was checked in 2026.
Apple App Store, Canada $21.99 Canadian storefront price shown alongside the expected October 29 release date.

Feral says the mobile edition includes the desktop-release downloadable content at no extra cost: Genkibowl VII, Gangstas in Space and The Trouble With Clones. The announcement also describes more than 30 additional weapons, vehicles and costumes. Google Play’s description says the campaign has 47 missions; that is publisher app-description information, not an independent review statistic.

A practical first-session checklist

When the game becomes available, use this order to avoid changing several unknowns at once:

  • Confirm the store listing, country, price, operating-system requirement and supported-device information.
  • Install on the supported device and note the game version shown by the store or in the app.
  • Choose touch, controller or keyboard-and-mouse input before beginning a high-stakes mission.
  • Open the controls/options area and photograph or note the original layout and values.
  • Test basic movement, camera, aiming, driving and interaction in an early, low-risk section.
  • Change only settings that are actually available, one at a time, and keep a working fallback layout.
  • If using a controller, verify pairing, button prompts and vibration behavior before relying on it.
  • If the game offers graphics or performance choices, record the device, OS, build and selected values so later troubleshooting is reproducible.

Common problems and what the current evidence can—and cannot—tell you

The store lets me buy, but will the game run?

Not necessarily. Google Play specifically warns that rare device-identification errors can permit unsupported purchases. Check the stated Android 13-or-later requirement and the device list rather than treating the purchase button as a compatibility guarantee.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

I cannot find a setting mentioned online

The official material does not publish a complete mobile settings list. A control, sensitivity slider or graphics option may simply not exist in your build. Use the labels shown in the installed version and avoid applying instructions written for another platform or an unverified preview.

My controller connects to the phone but the game does not respond

Feral confirms controller support, not every pairing combination or button map. Confirm the operating system sees the controller, launch or restart the game after pairing, and look for an in-game input indicator or prompt. If the game still does not react, record the device, OS, controller connection type and game version before contacting official support.

Touch controls feel uncomfortable

First check which customization tools your version actually provides, then test the arrangement in a safe area. Screen size and grip affect comfort, so a layout that suits one device may not suit another. Switching to a compatible external controller is an available alternative, not a required fix.

What a definitive settings guide still needs

A reliable table of exact menu paths and recommended values requires post-launch evidence: screenshots or video of the mobile options screens, a Feral support document, or controlled play on a named device and game version. Until that information exists, the most accurate advice is to inspect the released build, document what it exposes and keep a working default for recovery.

The Bottom Line

Saints Row: The Third Remastered’s mobile edition is officially announced for October 29, 2026, with customizable touch controls plus gamepad and keyboard-and-mouse support. Because the mobile layout and settings menu were not documented before launch, check compatibility and the current store listing, then test and adjust only the controls and options your installed build actually provides.
