The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 platform is consistent; the mini PCs built around it are not. AMD specifies a 16-core Zen 5 processor, integrated Radeon 8060S graphics with 40 graphics cores, and support for up to 128GB of 256-bit LPDDR5x memory. In practice, the systems differ most in installed memory, whether that memory is soldered, cooling, power limits, storage expansion, ports, and support.

Framework’s 2025 Desktop offers 64GB or 128GB, while HP’s cited Z2 Mini G1a configuration has 32GB onboard. A reported MOGINSOK MG01 configuration reaches 128GB, but its current listing and support details require verification. The ASUS ROG Flow Z13 shows how the same silicon can be used in a portable convertible rather than a desktop mini PC.

What the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 platform includes

AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 combines a 16-core Zen 5 CPU with Radeon 8060S integrated graphics. The GPU is specified with 40 graphics cores, and the processor and graphics share the system’s unified memory rather than using separate desktop-style VRAM. That makes memory capacity a graphics specification as well as a system-memory specification: a machine with more RAM can accommodate larger textures, larger local AI models, or more simultaneous applications before it has to page data to storage.

AMD lists a platform ceiling of 128GB of 256-bit LPDDR5x memory at up to 8000 MT/s. This is a platform maximum, not a promise that every computer ships with that capacity or speed. Manufacturers select the amount of memory, the rated speed, the cooling system, firmware limits, and the physical expansion options.

Why memory capacity is the decisive comparison

Unified memory is shared by the CPU and GPU

On these systems, graphics data comes from the same memory pool used by Windows, applications, and the CPU. A 32GB computer does not have 32GB available exclusively to programs; the operating system and graphics workload consume part of it. Games at high texture settings, virtual machines, large code builds, video projects, and local language models can all compete for the remaining capacity.

Soldered memory makes the purchase configuration permanent

Framework describes the 395 Desktop memory as soldered LPDDR5x-8000. HP calls the 32GB in model E07RCPA onboard memory. Neither description indicates a normal user-replaceable memory module. If you expect to run several virtual machines, keep a large development environment open, or experiment with local AI, choose the capacity at purchase rather than assuming a later upgrade will be possible.

Speed numbers are not a complete performance forecast

HP’s cited configuration lists LPDDR5x-8533, while Framework lists LPDDR5x-8000. The higher memory-transfer figure may help bandwidth-sensitive workloads, but it does not establish that the HP system is faster overall. Cooling, sustained processor power, firmware, memory allocation, storage, and application behavior also determine results. No standardized independent test directly comparing these mini PCs is established here.

Framework Desktop: the best-documented 395 mini PC

Framework’s 2025 Desktop configuration is the clearest reference design for a Ryzen AI Max+ 395 mini PC. It uses a 4.5-liter case and offers 64GB or 128GB of soldered LPDDR5x-8000. The Radeon 8060S is listed with 40 compute units and a frequency of up to 2.9GHz. Framework specifies processor power levels of up to 120W sustained and 140W boost, figures that describe the platform’s configured limits rather than a guarantee that every workload will hold the boost value continuously.

Two M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 sockets provide substantially more storage flexibility than a single-drive design. Framework also documents support for up to four displays, useful for trading desks, development stations, and content-creation setups. The soldered memory remains the key buying decision: select 64GB for ordinary productivity and lighter creative work, or 128GB when large datasets, virtual machines, or local AI are part of the plan.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Framework’s live product information also includes 2026 systems based on newer Ryzen AI Max PRO processors. Those are not the same processor as the 2025 Ryzen AI Max+ 395. When comparing a current page with older reviews or listings, check the exact processor name and model year.

HP Z2 Mini G1a: a 32GB workstation configuration

HP’s India specification for model E07RCPA identifies a Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 395, integrated Radeon 8060S graphics, 32GB onboard LPDDR5x-8533, and a 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD. It is a concrete regional SKU, not a universal specification for every Z2 Mini G1a sold worldwide.

Ideal for gaming, video editing, and multitasking, it provides expansive and crisp multi-display support.

The 32GB capacity can be sufficient for office work, software development, moderate photo editing, and many games, but it leaves less headroom for memory-intensive AI or virtualization than 64GB and 128GB alternatives. Because the memory is onboard, verify capacity before purchase and confirm whether the seller’s listing uses the same E07RCPA model. Check warranty coverage, service location, included operating system, and available display outputs in your region; those details are not established by the cited specification alone.

MOGINSOK MG01: a high-capacity option that needs verification

TechRadar’s October 2026 report described an MG01 configuration with the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, 128GB of LPDDR5x memory, and a 1TB SSD. The report also mentioned four M.2 slots and dual networking. It noted that additional information supporting a claimed SATA detail could not be found.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

That makes the MG01 interesting for buyers who prioritize capacity and internal expansion, but the report is a secondary retail reference rather than an independently verified product test. Treat the Amazon-linked offer as a lead, not a fixed price or availability statement. Before buying, verify the seller, exact memory and SSD configuration, return policy, warranty provider, networking ports, M.2 keying and lane allocation, and whether all four sockets are populated or accessible. A different regional SKU can change these details.

ASUS ROG Flow Z13: the same chip in a portable format

The 2025 ROG Flow Z13 configuration cited by ASUS pairs the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and Radeon 8060S with 128GB of onboard LPDDR5X-8000, a 1TB M.2 2230 SSD, and a 13.4-inch 2.5K 180Hz touchscreen. It is a convertible tablet/laptop, not a mini PC, so it includes a screen, battery, keyboard options, and a portable chassis.

Its value in this comparison is architectural: it demonstrates that the same processor can be tuned for a very different thermal and power envelope. A portable system may be preferable when you need one computer for travel and desk use, while a desktop mini PC can offer easier peripheral access, more display outputs, and greater storage flexibility. Do not use the Flow Z13’s specifications to assume identical sustained performance from a desktop or workstation chassis.

How capable is the Radeon 8060S?

All of the configurations above use the Radeon 8060S name, with AMD specifying 40 graphics cores. That provides a useful baseline for driver support and feature compatibility, but the name alone does not determine frame rates. The graphics processor draws from shared LPDDR5x memory, and its real behavior depends on memory capacity, bandwidth, firmware allocation, cooling, and the system’s sustained power limit.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Framework’s listing gives the 8060S a maximum frequency of up to 2.9GHz in its 395 Desktop configuration. That figure should not be treated as a cross-model clock guarantee. The manufacturer specifications reviewed here do not provide a common gaming test across Framework, HP, and MG01 systems, so there is no defensible model-by-model frame-rate ranking to publish.

For gaming, compare the exact resolution and settings you intend to use, and look for tests performed on the same memory capacity and power profile. For professional graphics, verify application certification and driver requirements separately; integrated graphics performance does not replace a discrete workstation GPU in every workload.

Can a Ryzen AI Max+ 395 mini PC run local AI models?

The large unified-memory pool is well suited to local inference because model weights and working data can share fast system memory with the GPU. A 128GB configuration gives considerably more room for larger models or multiple services than a 32GB configuration. Actual feasibility still depends on quantization, context length, GPU and CPU offload, software support, and the model’s memory requirement.

Buying checklist for a Ryzen AI Max+ system

  1. Confirm the exact processor. Distinguish Ryzen AI Max+ 395 from Ryzen AI Max PRO 395 and from newer 2026 Ryzen AI Max PRO products.
  2. Buy the memory you need on day one. Ask whether the RAM is soldered or onboard, and choose 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB based on your largest workload rather than today’s average use.
  3. Inspect the cooling and power specification. Look for sustained and boost limits, fan-clearance requirements, and independent long-run testing when available. Do not infer sustained performance from a short boost clock.
  4. Count storage sockets and lanes. Verify M.2 size, PCIe generation, socket count, and whether adding a drive disables another port or shares lanes.
  5. Map your displays and peripherals. Check the number and type of video outputs, USB generations, networking, audio, and support for docks or adapters.
  6. Validate the seller and warranty. Regional configurations, return rights, service locations, and support contacts can differ even when the product name is identical.
  7. Interpret benchmarks narrowly. Match the tested memory capacity, software, model, resolution, power mode, and comparison hardware before applying a result to your own system.

Performance expectations and limitations

The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 is a high-end integrated platform, but compact computers make trade-offs. A larger or better-cooled chassis can sustain higher power for longer; a thin portable design may reduce clocks once heat or battery limits are reached. Shared memory also means that allocating more capacity to graphics leaves less for applications.

Storage speed affects boot, project loading, and model-swapping time, but it does not turn 32GB into 128GB. Likewise, LPDDR5x-8533 in one regional HP configuration does not prove that it will outperform every LPDDR5x-8000 system. Use the published specifications to narrow choices, then seek workload-specific tests or run a returnable-system trial with your own software.

Prices, availability, and configuration checks

No single price applies to these systems. Cost varies by memory, SSD, operating system, retailer, currency, region, promotion, and date. The MG01 reference came from an October 2026 report linking to an Amazon offer; the live price, stock, seller, and program eligibility were not verified. Framework and HP availability likewise depends on the exact configuration and market.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For a fair comparison, record the complete SKU, installed memory, SSD capacity, included accessories, warranty length, shipping cost, and return window. Comparing a bare 32GB system with a 128GB, dual-drive configuration by processor name alone will produce a misleading value judgment.

Bottom line

Choose by configuration, not by the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 badge. Framework’s 2025 Desktop is the most thoroughly documented 395 mini PC here, with 64GB or 128GB soldered memory, two M.2 sockets, four-display support, and published power limits. HP’s Z2 Mini G1a example is a compact 32GB workstation configuration whose regional SKU must be confirmed. The reported MG01 is attractive for 128GB and multiple M.2 slots but needs careful listing and support verification. The Flow Z13 is the portability option, not a desktop substitute.

Across all of them, memory capacity, cooling, power limits, expansion, and warranty determine whether the system fits your workload. AMD’s 8060S and benchmark claims establish the platform’s potential; they do not erase the differences between the machines that implement it.
