The Russell Hobbs Desire Matte Black Blender RHBL5BLK is a 650 W jug blender with a 1.5 L glass jug, two speeds and a pulse setting. Its manual also identifies a removable four-point stainless-steel blade and says the jug, lid and filler cap are dishwasher safe. Those are manufacturer specifications, not results from independent performance testing.
What is the RHBL5BLK?
RHBL5BLK is the model identifier used in Russell Hobbs Australia’s instruction booklet and product booklet for the Desire Matte Black Jug Blender. The Australian product booklet lists a 650 W motor, a 1.5 L glass jug, two speeds plus pulse, a removable filler cap and a base safety lock. The blade is a removable, serrated four-point stainless-steel design. Russell Hobbs RHBL5BLK instruction booklet Russell Hobbs Australia product booklet (2023)
These details describe the product on paper; they do not establish how smoothly it blends, how loud it is, or how well it holds up over time. No independent hands-on or comparative test results are established here.
How large is the jug, and what can you clean in the dishwasher?
The manufacturer specifies a 1.5 L glass jug. Russell Hobbs says the jug, lid and filler cap are dishwasher safe. That cleaning guidance does not include the powered motor base; do not put the base in a dishwasher. Check the instruction booklet for any additional cleaning and operating guidance for your unit. - 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What controls and safety features does it have?
The documented controls are two speeds and a pulse setting. The Australian booklet lists a safety lock on the base. Related UK and Irish product pages also mention non-slip feet, and the Irish page lists cord storage, but those pages describe model 24722 rather than RHBL5BLK. Treat those regional listings as related-product information, not confirmation that every feature or specification is identical on your unit. Is the RHBL5BLK a good blender?
The available evidence supports a specification-based assessment, not a performance verdict. Its documented feature set is straightforward: glass jug, removable blade, two speeds and pulse. Whether that suits your needs depends on what you plan to blend and on the performance of the specific unit; the manufacturer’s feature descriptions do not substitute for independent testing. Noise, durability and blending results are not established by the cited material.

RHBL5BLK has clearly documented core specifications and practical cleaning guidance: 650 W, a 1.5 L glass jug, two speeds plus pulse, a removable blade, and dishwasher-safe jug components. The available information is enough to explain what the Australian model offers, but not to claim that it blends better than alternatives or to make a tested-performance recommendation.
