The project may therefore represent anything from a visual proof of concept to a playable but heavily constrained build. A video, source repository or author write-up would be needed to determine whether the device accepts real-time input, renders continuously and runs more than a scripted scene.

Is it safe to modify a Sonoff Basic?
A Sonoff Basic is mains-connected equipment. Opening it, attaching test leads or connecting a programmer can expose lethal voltage, even when the switch appears to be off. The related hardware reporting stresses that electrical work on these devices requires appropriate competence and precautions.
