To win your first escape in RUNAWAYS on Roblox, make it from Kansas through Oklahoma and Texas to the Mexico border, then activate the gate console, survive the defense, and cross while the barrier is open. The guides do not establish a mandatory equipment checklist: fuel, a working vehicle, and a plan to survive the border sequence matter more than maximizing loot.
What counts as a successful escape?
RUNAWAYS [beta] is the Roblox experience by supercat games. Its official listing describes a crime-and-escape loop: rob items, pawn loot, evade police, and reach the border. The guides reviewed describe the destination as Mexico, with the route running south through Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. Roblox’s listing establishes the game’s broad premise; the detailed route and tactics below come from fan-maintained guides, not a developer walkthrough.
At the border, the reported sequence is to reach the station, lose pursuing cruisers, start the gate console, survive the defense, and cross once the barrier opens. Look for the “YOU ESCAPED” message and an escape summary showing borders 4/4. The beginner guide also associates an escape with the International Fugitive badge.
How should you spend money early?
Use a repeatable loop: rob, pawn, refuel, upgrade, and drive. Take valuable loot to TrashAmerica Pawn and use Exon stations to refill the vehicle. Do not spend your entire bankroll on weapons: the beginner guide warns that fuel becomes more expensive farther south, and you need enough cash to keep moving.

Buy a tool, then carrying capacity
The beginner guide’s suggested opening is to bring a small haul to the pawn shop, refuel, then buy a crowbar. It lists the crowbar at $800 and says it opens safes, ATMs, and registers. A Small Backpack is listed at $1,000 and lets you carry more loot per trip; buy it when the run can afford it.

When should you leave a town?
Do not try to clear every building once police backup is close. The beginner guide estimates the early backup countdown at roughly five to six minutes, but that is an approximate guide figure, not a fixed timer for every run. Leaving with a partial haul is better than risking the vehicle, health, and cash needed for the longer route.

How do you prepare for the route and border?
Travel Kansas → Oklahoma → Texas → Mexico. The route guide says police dispatches can follow state-line crossings, so approach each crossing with fuel and a healthy vehicle rather than counting on an easy stop afterward. It describes Texas as the last major resupply opportunity before the gate.
Before leaving Texas
- Refuel and repair the vehicle before the last highway stretch.
- Reserve cash for fuel and any needed armor, medkits, ammunition, or spare fuel available in the game.
- Bring a working gun and matching ammunition if you plan to fight during the gate defense.
- Choose carrying capacity and survival supplies over optional loot when space or cash is tight.
Class and vehicle purchases are described by the beginner guide as persistent, while loot and inventory from a run are lost on death. That makes a first attempt a logistics problem as much as a robbery run: protect the resources that help you reach the gate and survive it.

What equipment do you actually need at the gate?
The guides do not establish a hard-coded minimum kit for an ordinary escape. The basic completion condition they describe is surviving the gate sequence and crossing the open border. The border guide recommends Heavy Armor, 15 medkits, a working gun with matching ammunition, and a full tank as a minimum recommended kit—but that is fan-guide advice, not a confirmed game requirement.

The two approaches are preparation choices, not competing official builds. Spending on extra protection can reduce the money available for fuel; undersupplying the defense risks losing the run at its final stage.

How do you get through the Mexico gate sequence?
- Arrive ready. Reach the station with a fueled, serviceable vehicle and supplies bought before the final highway.
- Shake the cruisers. The route guide advises losing pursuing police before starting the console.
- Start the gate console. This begins the border sequence described by the guide.
- Use cover and heal early. The border guide recommends entering a building, closing the door, and healing before health becomes critical. Conserve ammunition rather than firing without need.
- Cross as soon as the gate completes. Leave cover and move through the barrier during its open period, then check for “YOU ESCAPED” and borders 4/4 in the summary.
Guides describe the defense as lasting about two minutes, but the escape guide says the exact post-update timer and barrier-open window are uncertain. Do not plan around a precise countdown; be ready to move as soon as the game opens the route.
Is police level 5 required for the first escape?
No. The border guide identifies escaping at police level 5 as the requirement for the separate Hardened Criminal challenge. It does not describe that heat level as a requirement for the ordinary International Fugitive escape.
What can change between runs?
The game is identified as early access, and the detailed equipment prices, timing estimates, and tactics come from secondary fan guides. No authoritative patch log or live verification establishes that every listed value remains current. Use the prices and timers as planning guidance, and follow the live game’s prompts if an update changes them.
