To replace a stylus tip, first identify the exact stylus model and determine whether it has a soft capacitive rubber contact, a threaded tip, or a removable active-pen nib. Those designs use different parts and removal methods, so there is no universal replacement tip or procedure. Check the manufacturer’s instructions and confirm the part fits your model before you begin.
Identify the tip design and exact model
A soft rubber contact tip on a passive capacitive stylus is not the same part as the nib on an active pen. Even tips that look similar may differ in fit, material, and removal method. Find the model name and generation on the stylus, packaging, or its manual, then use the manufacturer’s part listing or support instructions to verify compatibility.
- Soft rubber contact: The conductive tip touches the screen; the replacement may fit over a barrel or be part of a removable cover.
- Threaded tip: The tip unscrews from the stylus. Follow the maker’s specified direction.
- Active-pen nib: A narrow nib pulls out of the pen and a compatible replacement is pushed into its barrel.
Compatibility can vary even within one product family. PILOT specifies replacement part TPRU-1-B for the Puni Touch. Huawei says first-generation M-Pencil tips do not interchange with second- or third-generation tips; second- and third-generation tips are interchangeable, while M-Pencil Pro tips are different. Replace the tip using the procedure for its design
The following are manufacturer-documented examples, not interchangeable instructions. If your stylus is not listed, follow its own manual rather than applying another product’s method.

Soft rubber contact: PILOT Puni Touch
- Keep the barrel steady and twist off the touch-rubber cover.
- Pinch the used rubber firmly and remove it.
- Place the new touch rubber over the barrel tip.
- Reattach the cover by reversing the first step.
PILOT identifies the touch rubber as silicone and specifies TPRU-1-B, sold separately. The Puni Touch is designed for capacitive touch screens; hold it upright and use its touch rubber rather than rubbing the screen forcefully or substituting another part. Threaded capacitive tip: Snap-on VERUS Edge and ZEUS
- Unthread the old tip counterclockwise.
- Thread the replacement clockwise until seated.
Snap-on warns not to overtighten. Its guidance applies to the VERUS Edge and ZEUS; the replacement tip is described as optional equipment available through a sales representative. Snap-on replacement guidance

Pull-out active tip: Logitech Pen
- Pinch the old tip with standard or needle-nose pliers and pull it out.
- Hold the replacement tip and push it into place.
- If it does not seat fully by hand, get it started and press the stylus tip against a table to finish seating it.
Logitech describes the replacement as a purchasable spare part. Use pliers only when the instructions for your exact stylus call for them. Logitech Pen tip instructions
Active nib: Wacom pen
- Remove the old nib with the included round metal tool or the pen’s built-in remover.
- Slide the new nib straight into the pen barrel.
- Push slowly and firmly until it stops.
Depending on the device, the tool or spare nibs may be in the package, pen, case, stand, or holder. Check your pen model before ordering replacements. Wacom advises replacing a nib when it is approximately 1 mm (1/25 inch) long or has a sharp edge; that threshold is specific to its guidance and should not be applied to rubber touch tips or other manufacturers’ pens. Active nib: Samsung S Pen
- Hold the nib with the supplied tweezers and gently pull it out.
- Gently insert the new nib in the correct orientation.
Samsung advises against reusing an old nib, pressing excessively during insertion, inserting the round end, or bending the nib. Its support article was updated April 14, 2026. Samsung S Pen nib instructions
Active tip: Huawei M-Pencil
Use the instructions for the precise M-Pencil model and generation. Huawei says not to rotate a tip forcefully during insertion or replacement. Replace a worn tip if internal metal becomes exposed. Huawei M-Pencil guidance

Know when to replace a worn tip
Replace a tip when its maker’s wear signs appear; the threshold depends on the design. PILOT lists slower response or broken rubber as signs to replace the Puni Touch’s touch rubber. Huawei advises replacing an M-Pencil tip when internal metal is exposed. Wacom’s approximately 1 mm length or sharp-edge guidance applies to Wacom nibs only. The replacement does not fit
Stop rather than forcing or trimming it. Recheck the exact model, generation, and replacement part number against the manufacturer’s instructions. A product-family name alone may not establish compatibility.

The tip responds slowly
For the Puni Touch, PILOT notes that response varies by device and that a screen protector can slow response or change the feel. Check the stylus instructions and consider the device and protector as possible factors; this does not establish that either is the cause.
A fragment is lodged inside
Do not dig it out with a sharp tool. For the covered M-Pencil case, Huawei warns that sharp tools may damage internal components and recommends seeking assistance from an authorized service center if a broken fragment cannot be removed manually. For another stylus, contact its manufacturer or authorized service provider.
The replacement feels loose or will not seat
Stop and confirm the part and insertion orientation. Do not add force beyond the maker’s instructions. For a threaded Snap-on VERUS Edge or ZEUS tip, seat it without overtightening; Samsung likewise cautions against excessive insertion pressure on the S Pen nib.

Choose a compatible replacement
Before buying, match the replacement to the exact model and generation, confirm its construction and approved design, and check whether the maker specifies a removal tool or installation direction. Prefer the manufacturer’s identified spare part or a part confirmed for that model. The instructions above document particular replacement parts and procedures; they do not establish universal fit, comparative performance, or retail pricing.
