RTX Spark is a Windows PC platform, not one standard laptop chassis. NVIDIA’s 2026 specifications describe systems with up to 6,144 Blackwell RTX cores, a 20-core Grace CPU and 128GB of soldered LPDDR5X unified memory. The ports, monitor limits, storage slots, cooling and game compatibility depend on the specific OEM model and configuration. This FAQ explains what the platform supports and how representative systems from Lenovo and ASUS differ.
What is RTX Spark?
RTX Spark is NVIDIA’s platform for Windows PCs built around an Arm-based Grace processor and a Blackwell RTX GPU. NVIDIA positions it for “AI development, creating, and gaming—all on one Windows PC.” The published maximum configuration has 6,144 Blackwell RTX GPU cores, 20 NVIDIA Grace CPU cores and up to 128GB of 256-bit LPDDR5X unified memory running at up to 9,400MT/s in the representative Lenovo design. Microsoft describes the platform as delivering up to 1 petaflop of FP4 AI performance.
Those figures describe platform ceilings, not a promise that every laptop reaches them. An OEM can ship a lower-core configuration, less memory, a different screen, a different power limit or different storage. RTX Spark laptops also run Windows 11 on Arm, so application and game support depends on native Arm versions, Microsoft’s emulation and the title’s anti-cheat or driver requirements.

What ports does an RTX Spark laptop have?
There is no universal RTX Spark port layout. NVIDIA confirms HDMI and DisplayPort support at the platform level, while each manufacturer chooses the physical connectors. Two published examples show the range:

How to connect a single external display
- Check the laptop’s specification for the connector’s supported resolution and refresh rate. HDMI 2.1 and USB4 do not automatically provide the same limit on every SKU.
- For HDMI, connect a suitable HDMI cable directly to the laptop and select the display’s HDMI input.
- For USB-C or USB4, use a port explicitly marked for DisplayPort Alt Mode, then connect a USB-C-to-DisplayPort or USB-C-to-HDMI cable or adapter.
- In Windows 11, open Settings > System > Display, select Identify if needed, choose Extend these displays or Duplicate these displays, and set resolution and refresh rate under Advanced display.
Using a dock
A USB4 or USB-C dock can combine charging, USB peripherals, Ethernet and HDMI or DisplayPort connections. The dock’s chipset matters: some docks use DisplayPort Multi-Stream Transport, while others rely on DisplayLink software. Confirm that the dock supports the desired number of displays, their resolution and refresh rate, and the laptop’s charging requirement. NVIDIA’s platform specification does not establish one dock-compatible monitor count for every RTX Spark laptop.
Can an RTX Spark laptop run two external monitors?
It may, but the answer is model-specific. The platform supports HDMI and DisplayPort, and representative laptops provide several display-capable outputs. That establishes the necessary interfaces, not a universal simultaneous-monitor limit.
Direct connection options
- One monitor through HDMI and another through a USB-C/USB4 port carrying DisplayPort.
- Two USB-C/USB4 display connections, if the OEM’s wiring and firmware allow both ports to drive independent displays.
- One direct display plus a compatible dock for the second display.
Before buying cables or a dock, check the exact product page for “maximum external displays,” supported resolutions and refresh rates, whether the internal panel counts toward the limit, and whether a port shares bandwidth with another connector. A specification that lists HDMI 2.1 and USB4 alone cannot answer those questions.

Windows display setup for two screens
- Connect both displays while the laptop is powered on.
- Open Settings > System > Display and use Identify to match the numbered rectangles to the physical monitors.
- Drag the rectangles into their real-world positions, select each monitor, and choose its native resolution and refresh rate.
- Set Extend these displays for a larger desktop, or use Duplicate these displays when both screens must show the same image.
- If one screen is missing, update the laptop and dock firmware, reconnect without the dock, and test each output separately. A failed cable, an unsupported dock mode or a bandwidth limit is more likely than a missing RTX feature.
Can you upgrade the RAM?
Usually not. RTX Spark systems use unified memory shared by the CPU and GPU, and in the published Lenovo Pro 9n design the LPDDR5X is soldered in a 16-channel package. Lenovo states that this memory cannot be upgraded, so choose the capacity when ordering. The platform maximum is 128GB, but lower-capacity SKUs remain possible.
Unified memory is different from conventional replaceable laptop RAM. There are no SO-DIMM slots to remove, and adding an ordinary DDR5 module cannot expand the pool. If your workload includes local AI models, large creative projects or several virtual machines, select the required capacity at purchase rather than assuming a later memory upgrade.
Can you upgrade the SSD?
Storage is more upgradeable than memory, but the slot arrangement is OEM-specific. Lenovo lists M.2 2242 NVMe options, including a PCIe Gen 4 drive up to 1TB and a 2TB PCIe Gen 5 drive. Its specification allows up to 4TB total using one Gen 4 and one Gen 5 slot when the 128GB-memory condition is met.

ASUS lists up to 2TB of M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 storage for the ProArt P16 H7607. That published configuration does not establish a second user-accessible slot or a Gen 5 upgrade path.
What to verify before buying an SSD
- Form factor: the Lenovo example uses M.2 2242, which is shorter than the more common 2280 drive. A 2280 SSD will not fit a 2242-only bay.
- Interface: confirm whether the slot is PCIe Gen 4 or Gen 5. A Gen 5 drive in a Gen 4 slot normally operates at the lower interface speed.
- Slot count: do not infer two bays from another model’s specification.
- Thermal hardware: verify whether a factory heat spreader or shield must be transferred to the replacement drive.
- Service instructions: follow the exact OEM maintenance procedure and back up the original drive before opening the system.
General replacement sequence
- Back up files and create recovery media before changing the drive.
- Shut down Windows, disconnect the charger and follow the model-specific opening instructions.
- Remove the retaining screw and any shield, insert the correctly sized M.2 module at its angle, and secure it without overtightening.
- Reassemble the laptop, enter Windows and initialize or clone the drive using Disk Management or the OEM recovery process.
- Check the new capacity and PCIe link in Windows before restoring data.
Opening a laptop can affect warranty coverage or damage fragile cables. Treat the sequence above as a framework, not a substitute for the service manual of your exact SKU.
Is RTX Spark good for gaming?
RTX Spark is designed to support gaming. NVIDIA lists fourth-generation ray-tracing cores, fifth-generation Tensor Cores, DLSS 5, Reflex 2, G-SYNC, DirectX 12 Ultimate and Game Ready Drivers. Microsoft says the platform is tuned for DirectX 12, neural rendering and optimized ray tracing. Those capabilities are strong evidence of intended gaming use.

They are not an FPS guarantee. Performance depends on the game, resolution, ray-tracing preset, laptop power limit, cooling design, driver version and whether the title or its anti-cheat system works correctly on Windows on Arm. No standardized independent RTX Spark laptop benchmark set establishes a single frame-rate number or battery-runtime figure.
What to check for a gaming purchase
- GPU and CPU tier: the Lenovo Pro 9n is offered with an RTX Spark N1X configuration using 6,144 GPU cores and 20 CPU cores, or a lower 5,120-core/18-core configuration.
- Cooling and sustained power: a thin chassis may not hold the same performance as a larger system with more thermal capacity.
- Panel: match the display’s resolution and refresh rate to the games you intend to play; an 8K-capable output does not mean the internal panel is 8K.
- Compatibility: check the game publisher’s Windows-on-Arm and anti-cheat support before relying on a particular title.
- Power: use the supplied charger for demanding games. ASUS lists a 140W USB-C adapter for the ProArt P16 H7607, but charger behavior is model-specific.

Choose by workload and configuration, not by the RTX Spark name alone. The two published systems illustrate different priorities:

For local AI work, prioritize 64GB or 128GB unified memory because it is soldered, then verify the GPU-core tier and storage capacity. For gaming, compare the sustained power and cooling design, panel refresh rate, driver support and game compatibility rather than assuming the highest theoretical core count will always win. For a multi-monitor desk, count the physical display outputs and confirm simultaneous-display behavior in the exact configuration.

Common buying and setup mistakes
Assuming every RTX Spark laptop has the same ports
RTX Spark is a platform. Port selection belongs to the OEM, so copy the connector list from the exact model and regional SKU.
Ordering replaceable RAM
The representative systems use onboard unified memory. Select capacity at checkout and do not budget for a later RAM installation.
Buying the wrong SSD length
An M.2 2242 slot cannot accept a 2280 module. Confirm length, generation and the number of bays before purchasing.

Expecting a universal two-monitor promise
HDMI and DisplayPort support do not specify a monitor count. Validate the OEM limit, dock chipset and refresh-rate combination.
Using benchmark claims as guarantees
The published AI and core-count figures describe capability ceilings. They do not predict every game’s frame rate, and Windows-on-Arm compatibility can vary by title.
