The right RTX 5080 prebuilt is not defined by “RTX 5080, 32GB, 2TB” alone. Before comparing prices, obtain the exact graphics-card model and dimensions, processor, power-supply model, ATX version, cooling layout, motherboard, memory modules, SSD model, shipping protection and warranty terms in writing. Those details determine whether the computer fits, runs reliably and can be serviced without an expensive surprise.
Start with a complete specification sheet
A trustworthy listing identifies the parts that affect compatibility and serviceability, not just capacity labels. As a completeness benchmark, an official iBUYPOWER EPBI9N5801 configuration specifies Windows 11 Home, an 850W 80 PLUS Gold power supply, 32GB DDR5-5200 RGB memory, a 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD, a GeForce RTX 5080 16GB graphics card, a B860 Wi-Fi motherboard, an Intel Core Ultra 9 285 processor and a 360mm liquid CPU cooler.
Use that level of detail as a minimum. If a listing omits the power-supply model, motherboard model, SSD model or cooler model, ask the seller for the information before paying. “850W Gold,” “2TB NVMe” and “liquid cooled” describe categories, not the actual components you will receive. Different parts in the same category can have different connectors, thermals, firmware support, noise characteristics and warranty handling.

Dimensions, mass and clearance
MSI lists its RTX 5080 SUPRIM OC at 359 × 150 × 76 mm and 2,614 g. That is a three-slot-class card with substantial length and thickness. A different RTX 5080 may be shorter or thinner, but you must verify the supplied model rather than design around the MSI dimensions.
Request three measurements from the seller or case manufacturer:
- Maximum GPU length with front fans and any front radiator installed.
- Available slot thickness, including whether adjacent expansion slots are blocked.
- Vertical clearance around the side panel and the 16-pin power plug.
Clearance must include the cable, not only the metal card. A side panel can press against a sharply bent 16-pin lead, while a front-mounted radiator can reduce GPU length clearance enough to make an otherwise compatible case unusable.
Connector and display outputs
The cited MSI card uses one 16-pin connector and provides three DisplayPort 2.1b outputs plus one HDMI 2.1b output. Confirm that the prebuilt includes a native, correctly rated 16-pin cable from the PSU instead of relying on an unnecessary bundle of adapters. Check the outputs against your monitors, capture hardware and receiver before ordering.
Support during transport
A 2,614 g graphics card can place significant stress on the PCIe slot when a system is moved. Ask whether the builder installs a support bracket and how the interior is packed for shipping. A removable shipping brace or dense internal packing should be removed as instructed before powering on; leaving transport material in place can obstruct fans.
Size the power supply by the whole system
An RTX 5080 prebuilt needs more than a nominal wattage number. The PSU must have enough continuous capacity for the selected CPU and GPU, suitable transient handling, the correct connector and a current platform standard.

Manufacturer guidance by CPU class
ASUS’s 2026 recommendation table gives these RTX 5080 figures for different processor classes:
| CPU class paired with RTX 5080 | ASUS recommended PSU | How to use the figure |
|---|---|---|
| Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 | 750W | Sizing floor for that listed CPU class |
| Intel Core Ultra 5, Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 | 850W | Use with the exact CPU and the rest of the system verified |
| Intel Core Ultra 7, Core i9 or AMD Ryzen 9 | 850W | Confirm the specific processor’s power behavior |
| Intel Core Ultra 9, HEDT or AMD Threadripper | 1000W | Appropriate sizing floor for these higher-demand classes |
ASUS describes the table as recommended PSUs for ranges of GPU and CPU combinations. Treat each value as a sizing floor for the specified combination, not a guarantee that every 750W or 850W unit is equivalent. A practical check is to verify the PSU model, 80 PLUS efficiency rating, ATX 3.1 support and a native 16-pin cable. Those checks follow from the manufacturer requirements and the connector used by current RTX 5080 designs.
What to record from the listing
- Brand and complete model number, not only “850W Gold.”
- ATX 3.1 compliance or the exact standard the unit supports.
- Native 16-pin GPU cable and its specified current rating.
- Number of separate CPU and peripheral cables available for future drives or cards.
- Whether the PSU is replaceable without changing proprietary case wiring.
If a system combines an RTX 5080 with a Core Ultra 9, the 1000W class recommendation deserves particular attention. An 850W unit may be adequate in some designs, but the seller should explain the choice using the exact CPU and PSU model rather than a generic wattage claim.
Evaluate cooling as a complete case layout
The EPBI9N5801 example uses a 360mm liquid CPU cooler. That tells you the processor is liquid-cooled; it does not mean the RTX 5080 itself has liquid cooling. The graphics card remains a separate air-cooled or hybrid design specified by its board partner.
Radiator placement
Ask where the radiator is mounted: front, top or another supported position. A front radiator can consume the case’s best intake location and reduce GPU clearance. A top radiator may require enough motherboard and memory clearance and should normally exhaust warm air. Verify the radiator’s thickness, fan thickness and hose orientation against the exact case.

Obtain the installed fan count and each fan’s position. A useful layout normally identifies front or bottom intake fans and rear or top exhaust fans, but the correct arrangement depends on the chassis. Also ask whether the fans use standard connectors and whether fan curves are configured in firmware or software. “Liquid cooled” without radiator placement, pump model or fan information is incomplete.

Thermal service questions
- Is the cooler an all-in-one unit with a stated warranty period?
- Can the pump, fans and radiator be replaced with standard parts?
- Does the case provide dust filtration and a removable front panel?
- Are the GPU intake areas blocked by a solid front panel or drive cage?
Inspect the CPU, motherboard and upgrade path
The processor affects power planning, cooling demand and the value of the platform. Record the full model, not simply “Core Ultra 9” or “Ryzen 7,” because suffixes can indicate different power limits and integrated features. The official EPBI9N5801 listing uses an Intel Core Ultra 9 285 with a B860 Wi-Fi board; another configuration could use a different board and BIOS even with a similarly named CPU.
Motherboard details that change ownership experience
- Exact chipset and board model.
- Wi-Fi generation and whether Bluetooth is included.
- Rear USB count and speed, wired-network speed and audio outputs.
- PCIe slot spacing after the RTX 5080 is installed.
- Number of vacant M.2 sockets and their supported PCIe generation.
- Number of vacant DIMM slots and the maximum supported memory.
- BIOS-update method and whether a recovery feature is available.
Do not assume that a Wi-Fi label means the newest wireless standard. Ask for the actual adapter or motherboard specification. Likewise, a board can advertise several M.2 sockets while some share lanes with SATA ports or other expansion slots; the manual or exact board page is the authoritative source.
Verify memory and storage beyond capacity
Capacity is only one part of a memory or storage specification. Confirm whether 32GB is installed as two matched 16GB modules or one 32GB module. Two matched modules generally provide the intended dual-channel configuration, while a single module can limit memory bandwidth and leave a different upgrade path.

The iBUYPOWER example lists 32GB DDR5-5200 RGB memory. CyberPowerPC catalog examples show how much configurations can vary: one pairs a Ryzen 7 9800X3D with 32GB DDR5-6000, an ASUS PRIME B850-PLUS WIFI board and a 2TB WD Green SN3000; another pairs a Core Ultra 9 285K with 32GB DDR5-6000, an ASUS Z890 MAX GAMING WIFI7 board and 2TB storage. These examples have the same headline memory capacity and storage capacity but different processors, boards, memory speeds and SSD models.
Questions for the RAM
- How many modules are installed?
- What exact speed and timings are configured?
- Is the advertised speed enabled in firmware or is it the default JEDEC setting?
- How many DIMM slots remain free?
- Will adding another kit affect the stated warranty or require a matched replacement?
Questions for the SSD
- What are the manufacturer and complete model number?
- Is it PCIe 4.0 or PCIe 5.0, and which controller or NAND type does it use?
- Does it include a dedicated heatsink, and is that heatsink compatible with the motherboard?
- How many M.2 slots remain available after installation?
- Is the operating-system partition the only volume, or is the drive divided?
The 2TB figure in the EPBI9N5801 specification refers to an M.2 NVMe drive, but it does not by itself establish sustained performance or endurance. Use the model number to obtain those details before comparing two systems.
Get warranty and RMA terms in writing
Warranty duration is not universal and can change with the order date. iBUYPOWER states: “3-years labor and 3-years parts (for orders placed starting 7/1/2026).” The same warranty page lists “3-years labor and 2-years parts” for orders invoiced starting 6/1/2024, plus a separate option providing one year of U.S. lower-48 ground-shipping coverage for RMA requests.

1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsWarranty questions to send before purchase
- What parts warranty applies to the GPU, PSU, motherboard, memory, SSD and cooler?
- Is labor covered for the full parts period, and is labor depot-only?
- Who pays outbound shipping to the service center?
- Who pays return shipping, and is coverage limited to the U.S. lower 48?
- Is accidental damage, liquid leakage or shipping damage excluded?
- Does installing additional RAM, storage or fans affect coverage?
- Must you use an approved service center, and what is the typical RMA procedure?
- What happens if a replacement part is a different model because the original is unavailable?
Keep serial numbers, photographs of the packing and a copy of the original parts list. Those records make it easier to establish what was supplied if a component is replaced under warranty.

Use this pre-purchase verification sequence
- Save the exact listing. Export or screenshot the parts list, price, return policy and warranty language with the date.
- Request missing part numbers. Do not accept “equivalent” without the proposed replacement model and written approval.
- Check physical fit. Compare the card’s length, thickness and power-plug clearance with the case and radiator configuration.
- Validate power delivery. Match the CPU class to the ASUS recommendation range, then verify the PSU model, ATX 3.1 status and native 16-pin cable.
- Map airflow. Confirm radiator location, intake and exhaust count, dust filters and GPU clearance after all fans are installed.
- Check expansion. Count free DIMM and M.2 slots and note any lane-sharing limitations.
- Confirm memory configuration. Require the module count, speed and timings in the order record.
- Confirm service terms. Ask who pays each leg of RMA shipping and whether upgrades change coverage.
- Inspect on arrival. Photograph the carton, internal brace, GPU support and serial labels before removing packing or powering on.
- Run an initial hardware check. In Windows, verify the CPU, GPU, memory amount, storage model and Wi-Fi adapter against the invoice before installing your software.
Common red flags and how to resolve them
“RTX 5080” with no board model
Resolution: request the board partner, exact model and dimensions. If the seller cannot provide them, treat fit, acoustics and connector routing as unknown.
“850W Gold” with no PSU model
Resolution: request the complete model and ATX version. Confirm a native 16-pin lead and ask whether the unit is replaceable with a standard ATX supply.
“Liquid cooled” with no radiator location
Resolution: obtain the cooler model, radiator size, mounting position, fan count and GPU clearance with the radiator installed.

What the published specifications do—and do not—prove
The cited manufacturer pages establish component specifications, dimensions, power recommendations and warranty language. They do not publish an independent gaming-FPS benchmark for the exact prebuilt configurations described here. Therefore, a parts list can establish expected compatibility and serviceability, but it cannot prove a particular frame rate, noise level or temperature in your games.
For a performance decision, use the exact CPU, memory speed, graphics-card model and power limits from the final order, then look for testing of that complete configuration. Do not transfer a result from a different RTX 5080 board, a different processor or a different case as though it were a test of the system you are buying.
A practical decision rule
Choose the prebuilt whose seller can document every compatibility and service field, even if two systems have identical headline capacities. A clearly identified 850W or 1000W ATX 3.1 PSU, sufficient card clearance, a documented airflow path, two matched memory modules, a named SSD and unambiguous RMA coverage are more valuable than an unexplained upgrade in a single capacity number. If a seller will not provide those details, the uncertainty—not the RTX 5080 badge—should decide against the purchase.
