Part of an active Quake mapping scene, but a separate release
Rooftops Jam arrives amid other Quake community projects, but those projects are not part of this pack. In an August 16, 2026 report, PC Gamer covered several 2026 mapping events, including two Quickie speedmapping jams, a 1024 Jam built around a 1024-unit-cubed constraint, and a Limits Jam focused on constraints associated with the original campaign. The report also covers Q30 Deathmatch Jam, a separate 22-arena multiplayer project. Its installation guidance applies to that project, not Rooftops Jam.
There is also official anniversary content to distinguish from fan-made maps. On August 6, 2026, MachineGames announced Dawn of the Machine, a free Quake update with 19 new maps across a campaign, along with secrets, a new soundtrack, and a Deathmatch map. That official episode is separate from Rooftops Jam.
