Select is the sensible choice when the TV’s main job is streaming shows, news and movies at the lowest official price. The cited 4K Select line supports HDR10, Roku’s Smart Picture processing, voice control and Bluetooth Headphone Mode. Select does not target buyers seeking the broadest HDR format support, premium backlighting or high-refresh gaming. If reflections, dark-room contrast or console performance are major concerns, compare Plus and Pro models rather than assuming a larger Select will solve them.
Why Plus is the default recommendation
Plus adds the upgrades most people notice in everyday use. QLED versions can provide richer color, while listed mini-LED models use more advanced backlighting than a basic LED set. When the Plus premium makes sense
- You watch HDR movies and series and want Dolby Vision support.
- Your room benefits from QLED color or mini-LED backlighting.
- You want stronger built-in audio compatibility before buying a soundbar.

What Pro adds—and why the exact model matters
Pro is Roku’s premium family, but its hardware is not uniform. Start with Plus or Pro, then inspect independent measurements for the exact model’s brightness, reflection handling and local-dimming behavior. Official product pages establish the panel technologies, but one size’s test result cannot be generalized to every size in the family.
Gaming and sports
Check for a 120Hz panel and HDMI 2.1 on the exact Pro model if smooth motion and current-console features are priorities. The reviewed 2026 Pro OLED is documented with 120Hz and HDMI 2.1; other generations and panel types may differ. Do not buy a Pro TV solely because it carries the Pro name.
