There is no official Roblox list of “non-copyrighted song IDs” for February 2026. Roblox audio IDs are simply numeric asset IDs; an ID copied from a community list does not prove that the track is licensed, still available, permitted in your experience, or playable through every Boombox.
The reliable way to find usable music is to use Roblox’s Creator Store audio library or upload audio that you own or are licensed to use. This guide explains how to find an ID, import your own track, use Roblox’s current audio objects, and diagnose IDs that no longer play.
What a Roblox music code actually is
“Roblox music code,” “song ID,” and “audio ID” usually mean the same thing: the numeric asset ID assigned to an audio asset. Roblox gives each uploaded audio asset a unique number.

That number is an identifier, not a copyright status. A third-party website can copy an ID, but it cannot guarantee that:

- TRIFORCE TITANIUM 50 MM DRIVERS — Our cutting-edge proprietary design divides the driver into 3 parts for the individual tuning of highs, mids, and lows—producing brighter, clearer audio with richer highs and more powerful lows
- HYPERCLEAR CARDIOID MIC — An improved pickup pattern ensures more voice and less noise as it tapers off towards the mic’s back and sides, with the sweet spot easily placed at the mouth because of the mic’s bendable design
- ADVANCED PASSIVE NOISE CANCELLATION — Sturdy closed earcups fully cover the ears to prevent noise from leaking into the headset, with its cushions providing a closer seal for more sound isolation
- LIGHTWEIGHT DESIGN WITH MEMORY FOAM EAR CUSHIONS — At just 240 g, the headset features thicker headband padding and memory foam ear cushions with leatherette to keep gaming in peak form during grueling tournaments and training sessions
- WORKS WITH WINDOWS SONIC — Make the most of the headset’s powerful drivers by pairing it with lifelike surround sound that places audio with pinpoint accuracy, heightening in-game awareness and immersion
- the uploader owned the music or had permission to use it;
- the asset is still available on Roblox;
- your game has permission to load it;
- the experience supports that audio; or
- the track will work in a Boombox or radio.
Roblox’s official audio documentation directs creators to the Creator Store for free-to-use audio or to upload audio for which they have the necessary rights.
Why I am not listing supposedly “non-copyrighted” IDs
No official Roblox source provides a definitive February 2026 table of individual music IDs that are universally copyright-safe and guaranteed to work. Community lists may be useful for discovering assets, but their claims that every entry is “100% safe,” “working,” or “non-copyrighted” cannot be independently established from the ID alone.
Roblox requires uploaders to own the audio or have the necessary licenses. It can reject unauthorized uploads and remove or replace copyrighted music that was previously available. Roblox says it began removing certain unlicensed copyrighted music on June 18, 2018. Consequently, an old ID may stop working without anything being wrong with the number itself.

How to find usable Roblox music IDs in Studio
Roblox’s Creator Store contains more than 100,000 professionally produced sound effects and music tracks from Roblox and audio partners. Use it instead of relying on an unverified ID directory.
- Open Roblox Studio.
- Open the Toolbox.
- Select the Creator Store tab.
- Open the category selector.
- Choose Audio.
- Search by keyword, or use the quick and advanced filters.
- Right-click an audio result.
- Select Copy Asset ID.
The copied value is the numeric ID you can assign to an audio object. Clicking an audio result instead inserts it as a Sound instance in Explorer, which is useful for inspection but is not required when you only need the ID.
Use Roblox’s licensed music service
Roblox also offers licensed music for use on the Roblox platform through a service licensed from APM Music. Roblox describes these tracks as royalty-free for Roblox use, not as music that can be downloaded and reused anywhere else.

How to upload audio you are allowed to use
If you own a track or have a license covering Roblox use, you can import it through Studio’s Asset Manager or use Roblox’s web upload page.
Studio Asset Manager method
- Open the Asset Manager from Studio’s Window menu or the Home tab.
- Click Import.
- Select the audio file or files.
- Confirm the import.
- Wait for the completed status and green checkmark.
The current supported formats are .ogg, .mp3, .flac, and .wav. Each file must meet these limits:
| Requirement | Limit |
|---|---|
| File size | Less than 20 MB |
| Duration | Less than 7 minutes |
| Sample rate | No higher than 48 kHz |
| Channels | Mono, stereo 2.0, 3.0, or 5.1 |
| Content | A single track or stream that complies with Roblox rules |
You must have legal rights to the audio. Roblox transcodes imported files, so an import error is not always a copyright rejection. Invalid file headers or frames produced by older audio tools can also cause the process to fail.

Roblox Support documents this route:

Current free monthly quotas are 2,000 audio assets per 30 days for ID-verified users and 100 per 30 days for unverified users. Roblox’s current documentation says the former daily limit was removed and replaced with the monthly limit.
Play an audio ID in a Roblox experience
Boomboxes, radios, and music-input screens are made by individual experiences. Their labels, permissions, accepted input, and support for third-party audio vary. Roblox does not document one universal Boombox menu or chat command that works across all games.
For creators building a game, Roblox’s newer audio system uses AudioPlayer, AudioEmitter, AudioListener, AudioDeviceOutput, and Wire. Roblox currently discourages relying on the older Sound, SoundGroup, and SoundEffect objects for robust new implementations.

Set up non-directional background music
- In Explorer, select SoundService.
- Insert an AudioPlayer.
- Insert an AudioDeviceOutput.
- Insert a Wire.
- Set the AudioPlayer’s AssetID to a valid audio asset ID.
- Set the Wire’s SourceInstance to the AudioPlayer.
- Set the Wire’s TargetInstance to the AudioDeviceOutput.
- Enable Looping if the track should repeat.
- Adjust Volume.
For positional 3D audio, set the Wire’s TargetInstance to an AudioEmitter instead of an AudioDeviceOutput. To start playback from a script, call the AudioPlayer’s Play() method:

Why a valid Roblox audio ID may not play
| Symptom | Likely explanation |
|---|---|
| The ID is accepted but there is no sound | The experience lacks permission, or the asset was restricted, removed, or replaced. |
| It works in one game but not another | Permissions can be granted to specific experiences, and each game controls its own Boombox or radio system. |
| The upload fails | The file may exceed the size, duration, sample-rate, or channel limits; contain invalid headers or frames; lack rights; or fail moderation. |
| It appears in Studio but players cannot hear it | Successful import does not make an asset universally playable. Permission checks still occur when the game loads it. |
| An old code stopped working | Roblox may have removed or blocked the track after copyright enforcement. |
For Studio errors, open the Output window. Roblox can show a clickable permission error when the creator cannot load a restricted asset. If the creator has permission but the game does not, the error may offer a permission-grant prompt.
Audio privacy and permissions
Roblox uses two relevant asset access states:
- Restricted: only authorized creators or experiences can use the asset.
- Open Use: any creator or experience can use the asset.
Do not follow old advice saying that enabling Asset Privacy makes uploaded audio private. Roblox states that Asset Privacy controls the default state of images, decals, and meshes; audio has separate creation defaults.
Be careful before changing an asset to Open Use. That change is irreversible: it cannot be changed back to Restricted. Game permission grants are also permanent. Removing a collaborator does not remove a game’s existing access, and a granted game cannot later have that permission revoked.

Private audio initially remains visible and usable to its uploader. Roblox’s privacy system can also grant access to specific friends and experiences.

Use an audio ID copied directly from a Creator Store asset, an ID from an audio asset you uploaded with proper rights, or a track supplied through Roblox’s licensed music service. Treat every third-party “February 2026 music code” list as an unverified collection of numbers, not as proof of copyright safety or universal compatibility.

- Be Heard Loud and Clear. The big 6 mm boom mic makes sure you’re heard by gaming partners and mutes when flipped up.
- Use One Headset For Most Game Platforms. Your headphones work with your PC or Mac via USB DAC or 3.5 mm cable, mobile devices with 3.5 mm cable or with gaming consoles including PlayStationⓇ 5 and PlayStationⓇ 4 (USB wireless stereo sound only), Nintendo Switch (wireless stereo sound when docked)
- Game for Hours in Comfort. Everything about these headphones is about comfort: The deluxe lightweight leatherette ear cups and headband are made to keep pressure off your ears. Ear cups rotate up to 90 degrees for convenience.
If a community-listed song is essential, verify the asset inside Studio, confirm that your experience has permission to use it, test it in the actual game, and keep a replacement track ready. Even then, continued playback is not a permanent licensing guarantee.
FAQ
Does Roblox publish an official non-copyrighted song ID list?
No. Roblox directs creators to the Creator Store for free-to-use audio or asks them to upload audio they own or have permission to use. It does not publish a universal table of guaranteed copyright-safe song IDs.
Are Roblox music codes copyrighted?
An audio ID does not tell you whether a track is copyrighted or licensed. The uploader must own the audio or have the necessary rights, and Roblox can remove unauthorized music later.
Why does a Boombox code work in one Roblox game but not another?
Experiences implement their own Boombox and radio systems, and audio permissions can be granted to specific games. A working ID is not automatically available in every experience.
How do I copy an audio ID in Roblox Studio?
Open Toolbox, choose Creator Store, select Audio, right-click the asset, and choose Copy Asset ID.
Can I upload any MP3 to Roblox?
No. You must have legal rights to use the audio, and the file must satisfy Roblox’s format, size, duration, sample-rate, channel, Community Rules, and Terms of Use requirements.
Does Roblox Asset Privacy make audio private?
No. Roblox says Asset Privacy affects the default state of Images, Decals, and Meshes. Audio has separate privacy and permission behavior.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: there is no verified universal list of “non-copyrighted Roblox music codes” for February 2026. Use the Creator Store, Roblox’s licensed music service, or audio you are legally permitted to upload. Copy the ID from Studio, check experience permissions, and do not treat a working Boombox code—or a third-party list—as proof that music is copyright-safe.
