Start in the Central Region, learn the combat-and-resource loop, and delay a large factory until you understand the available building and technology choices. This guide treats the unnamed game in the brief as River Town Factory: Prologue, the strongest match for the described combination of Steam RPG exploration, martial-arts encounters, relic caves and automated production. That identification is an evidence-based match rather than an explicit title in the original question. The free prologue is a learning slice: its Steam listing says only 15% of buildings and technologies are available, and progress from it can transfer to the official version, with important limits.
What to do first
Your first objective is not maximum factory output. It is to establish a reliable loop: explore the Central Region, collect materials, practice the early martial-arts fights, and only then turn the materials into a small, understandable production chain. The Steam description presents exploration, combat, crafting and automated assembly as connected systems rather than separate modes.
- Scout the Central Region. Find routes, resource areas and the entrances to relic caves before spending time on a permanent industrial footprint.
- Use early fights as training. Learn how your character approaches, avoids and recovers from attacks while gathering the materials needed for progress.
- Process materials in the simplest possible chain. Begin with the shortest available input-to-output sequence; expand only after it runs consistently.
- Record what the prologue does not expose. With just 15% of buildings and technologies available, a layout that is excellent in the prologue may not be the right long-term design.
- Check the transfer boundary before committing. Save data can carry to the official version, but relationship progress, Oracle Temple access and the available building and technology pool remain capped in the free slice.
There are no authoritative recipe lists, numeric construction costs, enemy tables or control bindings in the available Steam information. The recommendations below therefore focus on decisions that remain useful without pretending to know unverified numbers or inputs.
How the exploration–combat–factory loop works
Think of every outing as feeding the next production step. Exploration exposes the region and its caves; fights test your ability to reach and leave resource areas safely; gathered materials become the inputs for crafting and construction; production then gives you a more capable base from which to explore again. The store description specifically frames automation as a progression from wooden planks to circuit boards, with the player designing each step of the line.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
This loop changes how you judge a successful trip. Returning alive with a modest, useful material load is better than carrying a large haul and losing the time needed to recover. Likewise, a factory that makes one intermediate item reliably is more valuable than a sprawling layout whose inputs frequently run dry.
| Phase | Primary question | Good stopping point |
|---|---|---|
| Scout | Where are the safe routes, resources and relic-cave entrances? | You can retrace your path and identify the next material you need. |
| Practice | Can you read an encounter and disengage without wasting supplies or time? | You can handle routine fights deliberately rather than by repeated trial and error. |
| Process | What is the shortest available chain from a gathered input to a useful output? | The chain runs without constant manual correction. |
| Expand | Will another building solve a real bottleneck? | You can name the missing input, output or capacity that the expansion addresses. |
| Reassess | Is the prologue’s limited technology set distorting your design? | You have tested the systems you can access and know which decisions should wait for the full release. |
Where to explore first: the Central Region
The prologue explicitly includes the Central Region, including martial arts and relic caves. Treat it as your tutorial territory and a route-planning exercise, not merely a place to rush through toward a later unlock.
Make a map you can use
On your first pass, prioritize orientation over volume. Note distinctive landmarks, branching paths, cave entrances and places where you repeatedly find useful materials. If the game offers any in-world marker or map note, use it consistently; otherwise keep a short external note with a landmark and a description such as “cave beyond the split path.” The point is to make a second trip faster and less hazardous.
Recommended Free Tools
- Mark a dependable return route before pushing deeper into an unfamiliar area.
- Separate locations you have merely seen from locations where you have actually collected a needed material.
- Notice which routes force you into fights and which allow you to pass or retreat.
- Leave unexplored branches for a deliberate second pass instead of repeatedly interrupting a resource run.
Use relic caves as controlled expeditions
Relic caves are named as part of the Central Region’s content, but the available listing does not specify their enemy rosters, rewards or required equipment. Enter them with a clear purpose: reconnaissance, a known material, or combat practice. Do not assume that every cave is an early mandatory objective. If a route repeatedly leaves you unable to return safely, mark it and come back after your first production improvements.
Bring back information as well as materials
After each outing, ask three questions: Which resource did I actually need? Which encounter consumed the most time or health? Which path can be shortened next time? These answers determine whether your next trip should be a focused collection run, a combat practice run or a cave expedition. Mixing all three before you understand the region makes it difficult to diagnose why progress feels slow.
How to survive the first martial-arts fights
The Steam description confirms martial-arts content but does not publish move lists, enemy statistics or control bindings. The safest beginner method is therefore behavior-based rather than a claimed button sequence.
Choose a fight deliberately
Before engaging, check your route out. If an encounter is beside a narrow passage, a cave entrance or a large resource pile, decide whether you can retreat without becoming trapped. Early fights are valuable practice, but a fight that blocks your return path can turn a short gathering trip into an avoidable setback.

Learn one attack pattern at a time
Spend the first exchanges observing distance, wind-up and recovery. Avoid committing to a long sequence until you know whether the opponent can interrupt it. When you take damage, change one variable—distance, timing or approach—rather than trying a completely different strategy every attempt. This makes the cause of a mistake visible.
Separate combat practice from material hauling
Carry only what you are willing to risk while learning a new encounter. On a resource run, bypass an optional fight if the game allows it; on a practice run, enter with the explicit goal of learning the encounter and accept that the material haul may be small. This separation protects the factory’s supply while you build fighting confidence.
Use recovery time as a planning signal
If you regularly need to stop after one encounter, the problem may be route selection or timing rather than insufficient damage. Shorten the loop, return earlier and use the next production improvement to remove the specific bottleneck you observed. Because the available sources do not state healing rules or resource costs, do not rely on an assumed potion count or regeneration mechanic.
When to start building the factory
Start with a small production test as soon as you can identify a basic input and its immediate output, but postpone a large, permanent complex until you understand which buildings and technologies the prologue actually provides. The free slice exposes only 15% of the game’s buildings and technologies, so early construction is best treated as a hands-on lesson.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsUse a “stable input” test
Before adding another machine or structure, run the simplest chain you can access long enough to answer these questions:
- Can you gather or produce the input without interrupting the line every minute?
- Can you identify where the output goes and what it is for?
- Can you spot the first bottleneck—input shortage, processing delay, storage or manual transport?
- Can you dismantle or rearrange the test without losing materials you cannot replace easily?
If you cannot answer those questions, build a smaller test rather than adding capacity. The goal is a readable flow from source to output.
Expand only to remove a named bottleneck
A second processing step is justified when the first step is consistently waiting for an output, not simply because the next building is available. Likewise, additional storage is useful when completed items are waiting for space; it is not a substitute for discovering why an input never arrives. Write the bottleneck in plain language before expanding: “the first processor waits for raw material” is actionable, while “the factory feels slow” is not.

Keep the prologue layout disposable
Do not optimize for a final endgame footprint that you cannot yet verify. Leave room for rerouting, keep related stages close enough to inspect, and avoid filling every available tile. A compact test line teaches more than a dense maze because you can see where material stops moving.
Designing production from wooden planks to circuit boards
The store description uses wooden planks and circuit boards to illustrate the intended range of automated assembly. It does not provide the exact recipes or machine requirements, so the following is a design method, not a recipe list.
Draw the chain before placing everything
Write the chain as a sequence of named stages: gathered input, first processed item, intermediate component and final component. Place only the first two stages initially. Once the first output is dependable, add the next stage and check whether it consumes the output faster than you can make it.
Make inputs and outputs visible
Leave inspection space around each stage. You should be able to tell at a glance whether a machine is idle because it lacks input, because its output is blocked or because it is still processing. A layout that hides these states behind overlapping structures creates troubleshooting work that no extra machine can solve.
Balance the chain by observation
Watch several cycles rather than judging from one completed item. If an early stage is always active while a later stage waits, the later stage is the bottleneck. If a later stage is full while the previous one keeps producing, the output connection or storage arrangement needs attention. Adjust one stage at a time so you know which change helped.

Do not build around unavailable technology
Because most of the game’s building and technology catalogue is outside the prologue, avoid making claims such as “this is the final optimal ratio” or reserving space for a machine you have not seen. Record the limitation and design a clean, reversible line with the tools you actually possess.
How to plan around the 15% prologue limit
The 15% figure applies to buildings and technologies available in the prologue according to the 2024 Steam listing from iFAction Studio. It is not a statement that you can experience exactly 15% of every system, map or story element. Treat it as a warning about progression breadth.

What the slice is good for
- Learning how Central Region exploration feels.
- Practicing the relationship between martial-arts encounters and material gathering.
- Testing whether you enjoy designing automated production lines.
- Finding out whether the available interface and pacing suit you before buying the expanded version.
What it cannot establish
- The complete building catalogue or the best full-game factory layout.
- The final technology progression and its late-game bottlenecks.
- Full relationship progression, because that remains capped.
- Access to the Oracle Temple, which is restricted in the free slice.
Use the prologue to evaluate the loop, not to infer the entire campaign. A design that feels constrained may be encountering the deliberate content boundary rather than a mistake in your planning.
What carries over to the official version
The Steam listing states that prologue save data can transfer to the official version. That does not mean every system is unlocked or every form of progress is preserved without qualification.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.A practical first-session route
First 15 minutes: orientation
- Enter the Central Region and identify a recognizable route back to your starting area.
- Locate at least one resource area and note any nearby cave or martial-arts encounter.
- Do not spend your first materials on a large footprint. Learn which basic structures are actually available.
Next 20 minutes: controlled exploration
- Collect a modest amount of the easiest useful material.
- Test one encounter only if you have a clear retreat route.
- Return and record what slowed you down: navigation, combat, carrying capacity or processing.
Next 20 minutes: the first production test
- Choose the shortest input-to-output chain you can currently access.
- Place a small, inspectable line with room to rearrange it.
- Observe multiple production cycles and identify the first real bottleneck.
End of session: decide the next objective
Choose one objective, not all of them: map another route, practice a specific fight, secure a missing input or correct the factory bottleneck. A focused next session produces clearer progress than alternating randomly between exploration and construction.
Common beginner mistakes and recoveries
Building too much too soon
Symptom: a large layout exists, but you cannot explain which stage is waiting or why. Recovery: stop expanding, trace one input through one output and remove or ignore structures that do not serve that chain.
Taking every fight while gathering
Symptom: a simple resource trip consumes most of the session. Recovery: separate combat practice from hauling and choose routes that let you return safely.
Assuming the prologue represents the full technology tree
Symptom: you design around a “final” layout or conclude that a missing feature is a bug. Recovery: remember the 15% availability limit and keep the current layout reversible.

- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Chasing a cave without a purpose
Symptom: you enter a relic cave repeatedly but cannot identify what the trip accomplished. Recovery: define the objective before entering—route discovery, a known resource or combat practice—and leave when that objective is met.
Expecting unrestricted story and relationship progress
Symptom: relationship progress stops or the Oracle Temple remains inaccessible. Recovery: treat those limits as part of the prologue boundary; they are not evidence that your save is damaged.
Is the free prologue enough to learn the game?
Yes, if your question is whether you enjoy the core loop of Central Region exploration, martial-arts encounters and designing a small automated line. It gives you a practical setting in which to learn route planning, resource discipline and bottleneck diagnosis.
No, if you need to evaluate the complete progression, all factory technologies, unrestricted relationships or the Oracle Temple. Those areas are explicitly limited, and the 15% building-and-technology figure means the prologue cannot serve as a complete systems guide.
The sensible approach is to finish a focused learning cycle rather than grind for a theoretical perfect base: map the region, become comfortable with routine fights, run a stable early chain and confirm how save transfer applies to your version. Then decide whether the larger release is worth your time based on the loop you actually experienced.
Quick checklist before you expand
- Can you reach the resource area and return by a route you understand?
- Can you avoid or deliberately practice the nearby martial-arts encounter?
- Do you know the exact input and output of the next production step available to you?
- Have you watched enough cycles to identify a real bottleneck?
- Is the proposed construction reversible if a later prologue unlock changes your plan?
- Are you distinguishing a prologue cap from a missing feature or a broken save?
Answering “yes” to these questions is the signal to expand. If any answer is “no,” another short exploration or observation run will usually teach more than another building.
