If Seekers of the Storm is not showing up, first determine whether the problem is ownership, installation, or in-game visibility. On Steam, check the correct account under Library > Risk of Rain 2 > Properties > DLC. If the expansion is listed but not installed, manage it there. If you play on console, verify the purchase and follow that platform’s current license or profile troubleshooting steps before reinstalling.
First check whether you own the expansion
Make sure you are signed in to the platform account that bought Seekers of the Storm, and that you are using the matching edition of Risk of Rain 2. The Steam listing identifies the expansion as downloadable content requiring the Steam version of the base game: Steam Store: Seekers of the Storm.

Steam ownership check
- Open Steam and select Library.
- Right-click Risk of Rain 2 and choose Properties.
- Select DLC and look for Seekers of the Storm.
Valve’s Steamworks DLC documentation says DLC appears in the game’s properties; if it is absent from the DLC tab, the account does not own it. Do not treat verifying game files as a license check.
PlayStation and Xbox ownership checks
On either console, confirm the account and completed store transaction for the console edition you are playing, then check the game’s add-on or content-management area for installation status. Console screens and entitlement rules can vary by system, region, and edition, so use the platform’s current instructions rather than assuming a PS5, PS4, or Xbox entitlement transfers between versions. The PlayStation Store listing is useful for checking the product and account context, but does not establish cross-generation entitlement rules.

If you own it, check whether it is installed
Steam
In Library > Risk of Rain 2 > Properties > DLC, check whether Seekers of the Storm is enabled and installed. Steam generally installs owned DLC with the game, but some DLC can be configured for manual or on-demand installation. Valve says an owner can start installation from the game’s Properties > DLC page. Steam Support also describes this library DLC menu as the place to view owned content and whether it is installed: Find Downloadable Content (DLC) for My Games.
PlayStation and Xbox
If the console shows the add-on as owned but not installed, use the console’s current game or add-on management controls to install it. Check the platform’s official instructions for the exact menu path on your console and account. If the store does not show ownership despite a completed purchase, resolve that entitlement discrepancy with the platform before repeatedly reinstalling the game.

Steam: remove mods and verify files
- Temporarily remove or disable mods, then launch the unmodded game and check whether the expansion appears.
- If the problem continues, use Steam’s game-file verification option for Risk of Rain 2.
2K includes mod removal and file verification in its Risk of Rain 2 technical troubleshooting guidance. These steps address possible mod or game-file problems; they do not establish that your account owns the DLC.

2K directs PlayStation players to verify console licenses. Follow the current instructions for your console and the account that purchased the expansion, then check whether the add-on is available to install. Xbox: remove and re-add your profile
2K’s Xbox-specific suggestion is to remove the Xbox profile from the console and add it again. Use the current Xbox instructions for managing profiles, and make sure you sign back in with the account tied to the purchase. 2K also recommends clearing the console cache and keeping console firmware current.
Reinstall only after checking ownership and installation
If the platform recognizes the license and the earlier steps have not helped, 2K recommends reinstalling the DLC first. If that does not resolve the issue, reinstall Risk of Rain 2 and all its DLC. On Steam, check the DLC tab again after reinstalling. A reinstall is a troubleshooting step, not a guaranteed fix for a missing account entitlement.

Why you might see the expansion in multiplayer without owning it
The Steam listing says one player in a lobby needs to own Seekers of the Storm to enable the expansion for that lobby. Players who do not own it still cannot select its new survivors or permanently unlock its expansion content, including items and logbooks. Seeing expansion content during a shared run therefore does not prove your account owns the DLC: Steam Store listing.

When to contact support
- Purchase completed, but the platform does not show ownership: Contact the platform’s transaction or license support and ask them to check the purchase account and entitlement.
- The platform shows ownership, but the game still has a game-specific problem: Contact Gearbox Entertainment Support, which lists Risk of Rain 2 among its supported titles, or follow 2K’s troubleshooting page.
Have the platform account, purchase record, console or PC platform, and the steps already tried ready when you request help. Avoid buying the DLC again until the store confirms whether the original transaction granted a license.
