If Hallowed Concepts is not showing up in Risk of Rain 2, first check that your platform is supported and that the account you are using owns the expansion. If it is owned, check whether it is installed; then try the repair steps for your platform. “Not showing up” can mean the DLC is absent from the store or account library, owned but not installed, or installed but unavailable in-game—each points to a different fix.
Check whether Hallowed Concepts is available for your platform
The October 8, 2026 release information names PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S for Hallowed Concepts. The PlayStation Store listing is for PS5, and the Xbox Store listing is for Xbox Series X|S. The cited launch information does not establish availability on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One. Do not assume that an edition of the base game on one of those systems includes access to this expansion. Check the current listing for your region and platform before troubleshooting an installation.

The expansion also requires the base game, Risk of Rain 2, as indicated by its Steam listing. If the DLC is not offered for your platform or is missing from its store, reinstalling the game will not establish eligibility.

On Steam
- Open Library in Steam.
- Right-click Risk of Rain 2 and choose Properties.
- Select DLC.
- Look for Hallowed Concepts. Valve’s Steamworks DLC documentation says DLC absent from this tab is not owned by the account currently being checked.
If it is absent, confirm you are signed into the account that made the purchase and check that account’s purchase history. If you bought it on another Steam account, its entitlement will not appear on the account you are using. Resolve an account or purchase mismatch before reinstalling.

On PlayStation or Xbox
Check that Hallowed Concepts is listed as owned on the same platform account used to launch the game. The available official sources do not specify a game-specific console menu path for checking ownership, so use the relevant store or account library. If the store does not show the DLC as owned, investigate the account or purchase rather than treating the problem as a game download failure.
Check whether owned DLC is installed
On Steam, return to Library > Risk of Rain 2 > Properties > DLC and inspect the installation state. If Hallowed Concepts is owned but not installed, use the option on that tab to initiate its download. Ownership and installation are separate: appearing as owned does not by itself confirm that the DLC files are installed.

On consoles, check the platform’s game and add-on library for the expansion and install or download it if available. Store menus can vary, so follow the current platform interface. If the game still does not recognize the expansion after installation, continue with the platform-specific repairs below.
Repair DLC that is installed but unavailable in-game
2K’s Risk of Rain 2: Technical Troubleshooting, updated July 7, 2026, recommends these platform checks and a reinstall sequence. Menu names can vary by system version.

Steam: remove mods and verify game files
- Temporarily remove or disable mods, then launch the unmodified game and check whether the expansion appears.
- In Steam, open Library, right-click Risk of Rain 2, and choose Properties.
- Open Installed Files and select Verify integrity of game files. Steam will check the installed files and reacquire files it finds missing or damaged.
PlayStation: verify licenses
Use the console’s license-verification option for your account, then restart the game. Follow the current PlayStation system settings; the precise menu path can vary by software version.
Xbox: remove and re-add your profile
Remove the Xbox profile from the console, restart if prompted, then add the profile back and launch the game under the account that owns the DLC. This is 2K’s suggested profile repair for Xbox.

Clear cache and update console software
2K also recommends clearing the system or game cache and ensuring console firmware is up to date. Use the platform’s current instructions for clearing cache; the exact procedure depends on the console. These are troubleshooting steps, not guaranteed fixes.

Reinstall in stages
- Uninstall and reinstall Hallowed Concepts by itself, then launch the game and check again.
- If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall Risk of Rain 2 and all its DLC. 2K recommends trying the DLC-only reinstall first, followed by the full game and all DLC if needed.
Why expansion content may appear in a friend’s game
Steam’s Hallowed Concepts listing says one lobby member owning the expansion is enough for its monsters, levels, and items to appear for the whole lobby. A player without the DLC cannot select the new survivors or permanently unlock new items, logbooks, or other content. So seeing expansion content during a hosted run does not prove that your own account owns it or has those personal unlocks.

When to contact support
If your platform is listed as supported, the correct account shows the DLC as owned, and the platform reports it installed, but the game still will not recognize it after the relevant repairs, contact the platform’s support or 2K. Provide the platform, account used, purchase or ownership status, installation status, and the steps you tried. The documented troubleshooting does not guarantee that a reinstall will fix every account-specific entitlement problem.
