Nintendo UK lists Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration for Nintendo Switch 2 with a release date of 9 June 2026. That date has passed, so check the Nintendo eShop in your region for current availability. The listing concerns a 2016 edition of Rise of the Tomb Raider—not a new game marking Tomb Raider’s 20th franchise anniversary.
What Nintendo has confirmed
Nintendo UK’s product listing names Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration as a Nintendo Switch 2 game and gives 9 June 2026 as its release date. Nintendo points buyers to the eShop; the listing does not confirm a physical cartridge or availability through other retailers.
The date is in the past. The UK listing establishes what Nintendo announced and its scheduled date, but it does not establish current stock or availability in other countries. Check your local Nintendo eShop for the latest status and regional details.

The anniversary wording is part of the title of a specific edition of Rise of the Tomb Raider. The official Tomb Raider games catalog dates that edition to 2016. It does not mean that the Tomb Raider franchise is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026.

In fact, the franchise turns 30 in 2026. The official Tomb Raider announcement says, “2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the Tomb Raider series.”
How this relates to the new Tomb Raider games
The Switch 2 listing is separate from the newer games announced for the franchise’s 30th anniversary. In its official announcement, Tomb Raider presented Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis as a reimagining of the 1996 debut and announced Tomb Raider: Catalyst as another upcoming game. Those announcements do not change the identity of the Switch 2 listing: it is for the 20 Year Celebration edition of Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Embracer Group also announced the two titles. The available announcements do not provide a consistent basis for a detailed edition-by-edition comparison, so the useful distinction is simple: the Switch 2 page is a listing for an existing edition, while Legacy of Atlantis and Catalyst are separate game announcements.
