The October 2026 Warhammer Community reveal names Blood Bowl Star Players Ripper Bolgrot and Fungus the Loon, but the announcement’s product details could not be confirmed. Their established rules explain why the pairing is notable; release date, price, kit contents, material, regional availability and whether Fungus comes with a miniature remain unknown.
What is confirmed about the reveal
A Reddit post dated October 12, 2026, links to a Warhammer Community announcement titled “Revealed: Ripper Bolgrot and Fungus take to the gridiron.” The official page returned an internal error when opened, so the announcement’s exact product information could not be verified. The title identifies the two Blood Bowl characters, but does not establish that they are being sold together or that either name corresponds to a newly released miniature.
That distinction matters because a character reveal is not enough to establish a product’s format. There is no confirmed information here about kit contents, price, material, release timing, regional availability, or whether the announcement includes a Fungus model.

Why Ripper Bolgrot is notable on the pitch
Warhammer Community’s Goblin tactics article describes Ripper as a Strength 6 Troll Star Player with fewer of the reliability drawbacks associated with Trolls: he does not suffer from Always Hungry or Really Stupid. His Thinking Man’s Troll rule grants him one re-roll each half. Warhammer Community sums up the combination: “This big Strength 6 guy doesn’t suffer from Always Hungry and Really Stupid, maximising his threat,” and notes that “Thinking Man’s Troll grants him a single re-roll each half!” Read Warhammer Community’s Goblin tactics article.

What Fungus the Loon brings
Fungus is a Goblin Star Player whose Whirling Dervish rule allows a re-roll of the direction in which he spins, once per activation. A rules reference lists his affiliations as Badlands Brawl and Underworld Challenge. These are game-rule details; they do not verify that a Fungus miniature is part of the October announcement. See the Fungus the Loon rules reference.
Ripper’s earlier miniature is separate product history
A specialist reference documents a Ripper Bolgrot resin miniature released by Forge World in July 2023. The model is described as having five components. That historical listing does not establish whether it is currently available, nor does it show that the October 2026 reveal concerns the same sculpt, a new kit, or any particular set of included parts. See the specialist reference for the earlier Ripper model.

What remains unverified
- Whether the reveal announces miniatures, rules, or another kind of Blood Bowl product.
- Whether Ripper and Fungus are included in one kit or offered separately.
- Whether a Fungus miniature is included at all.
- Price, material, release date, regional availability, and current stock.
Until the official announcement or regional product listings can be checked, those details should not be treated as confirmed. The reactions visible in the Reddit post—including one asking whether the reveal was the Iron Warriors update that had been promised—are individual comments, not evidence of the release’s contents or broad fan opinion.
