Rip It! Card Collector’s published requirements apply to the Windows demo, not yet to the full game. The demo needs a Windows 10 PC with a mid-range 2010s CPU and graphics card, 8 GB of memory, and 6 GB of free storage. Steam currently lists the demo’s Steam Deck Compatibility as Unknown, so it is neither officially Verified nor officially Playable. The demo released on October 13, 2026; Cybernetic Walrus has announced the full Steam release for October 30, 2026.

What the published PC requirements actually cover
The specification block is for the demo of Rip It! Card Collector, a single-player incremental and casual simulation game. Its loop involves opening booster packs, organizing cards in a binder, selling duplicates, and purchasing upgrades. The demo and full game should therefore not be treated as interchangeable software versions when you are checking hardware.
Operating system
Windows 10 is the only operating system named in the published requirement list. That confirms a Windows target, but it does not establish support for macOS, Linux, or a particular Windows 11 configuration. If you use a different operating system, the store’s Windows requirement alone cannot be used as a compatibility guarantee.
Processor
The minimum CPU examples are AMD’s Ryzen 3 2200G and Intel’s Core i5-7400. Both are desktop processors from earlier mainstream generations. A newer processor is not automatically guaranteed, but a modern desktop or laptop CPU that clearly exceeds these models should provide more headroom for the demo’s basic simulation and interface work. Laptop naming can be confusing: compare the actual model number, not just an “i5” or “Ryzen 3” label.

- 1280 x 800 HDR OLED display with premium anti-glare etched glass, 7.4" Diagonal display size up to 90Hz refresh rate
- Wi-Fi 6E
- 50Whr battery; 3-12 hours of gameplay (content-dependent)
- Carrying case with removable liner
Graphics processor
The listed graphics examples are the Radeon RX 570 and GeForce GTX 1060. These are discrete graphics cards, and the requirement block does not name an integrated GPU alternative. Check the exact GPU model in your computer rather than relying on the amount of video memory or a family name. A card with a newer model number can still vary substantially by power limit and laptop implementation.
Memory
The demo lists 8 GB of system RAM as its minimum. That figure is the installed-memory floor, not a promise that every 8 GB system will have the same amount free while Windows and background applications are running. Closing browsers, launchers, overlays, and other large applications can reduce contention when you are close to the minimum.
Storage
The published requirement calls for 6 GB of available storage. “Available” means free space at install time; it is not the total capacity of your drive. Keep extra room for Steam’s download process, temporary files, patches, and save data. A nearly full system drive can cause installation or updating failures even when the nominal free-space figure is just above the requirement.

How to check whether your Windows PC meets the demo minimum
Use the following check before installing. It compares your actual components with the named minimums without assuming that a brand family or marketing label is equivalent.
- Confirm Windows. Open
Settings > System > Aboutand verify that the edition is Windows 10 or a later Windows installation that you are willing to use. The published block specifically names Windows 10. - Identify the CPU. In
Settings > System > About, read the processor model. On a desktop, you can also open Task Manager withCtrl+Shift+Escand select thePerformancetab. Compare the complete model with Ryzen 3 2200G or Core i5-7400, rather than comparing only the series name. - Identify the active GPU. In Task Manager’s
Performancetab, select each GPU entry. Systems with both integrated and discrete graphics should show which adapter is being used; verify that the discrete adapter is at least in the RX 570 or GTX 1060 class named by the requirement. - Check RAM. Task Manager shows installed memory under
Performance > Memory. The listed minimum is 8 GB, and the usable amount can be lower because Windows reserves part of installed memory. - Check free space. In File Explorer, right-click the drive selected for Steam and choose
Properties. Make sure more than 6 GB is free so the installer and future updates have working room. - Install the demo from its Steam page. Steam’s compatibility and requirement information can change. Read the current store panel immediately before downloading, especially after the full game launches.
Meeting every listed minimum only establishes that your system matches the developer’s published floor. It does not specify a resolution, graphics preset, frame-rate target, loading time, or performance level for a particular laptop or desktop configuration.
What “Steam Deck Compatibility: Unknown” means
Steam uses four compatibility categories: Verified, Playable, Unsupported, and Unknown. The demo currently has the fourth label. Unknown means Valve has not published a compatibility result for this title; it is an absence of a rating, not a positive or negative test result.
| Valve category | General interpretation | Status for the demo |
|---|---|---|
| Verified | Valve’s standard indicates the game works well on Steam Deck out of the box. | Not published for Rip It! Card Collector. |
| Playable | The game runs, but may require a manual adjustment or may have a minor issue. | Not published. |
| Unsupported | Valve has determined that the title does not function on Deck under its compatibility criteria. | Not published. |
| Unknown | No published compatibility result is available yet. | Current demo label. |
Valve says its tested ratings apply to both Steam Deck LCD and Steam Deck OLED models. That statement describes how a published rating should be interpreted; it does not create a rating for this demo. Consequently, it would be inaccurate to call Rip It! Card Collector Steam Deck Verified or officially Playable today.
Can you play the demo on a Steam Deck?
There is no official answer yet. The Windows requirement block does not document SteamOS support, Proton behavior, controller mapping, text readability, suspend-and-resume behavior, frame rate, battery life, or graphics settings on Deck. No official source associated with the demo supplies hands-on Deck test results for those areas.
An Unknown badge does not prove that the demo will fail, and it does not prove that it will work. You may see community reports or discover that a Windows game starts through a compatibility layer, but those observations would be informal and could change with a game update, SteamOS update, or Deck hardware setting. Treat them separately from Valve’s official categories.

If you already own a Deck, the practical approach is to check the demo’s current store page on the device, install only if you accept the uncertainty, and use Steam’s refund rules if the software does not meet your needs. Do not purchase hardware or assume a performance target based solely on the Unknown label.
PC versus Steam Deck: the useful comparison points
| Comparison axis | Windows PC information | Steam Deck information |
|---|---|---|
| Operating-system statement | Windows 10 is the named target. | No official Deck operating-system result is published. |
| CPU/GPU headroom | Compare your components directly with the named Ryzen 3 2200G/Core i5-7400 and RX 570/GTX 1060 minimum examples. | No official performance comparison with Deck hardware is supplied. |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM is listed for the demo. | A Deck’s hardware cannot be declared compliant from the Windows requirement alone. |
| Storage | 6 GB is the listed demo space requirement. | The installation still needs room on the Deck’s internal or removable storage, but no Deck-specific footprint is stated. |
| Input | Keyboard and mouse support is not detailed in the requirement block. | Controller behavior and text-entry usability have not been officially documented. |
| Valve category | Not applicable to ordinary Windows PCs. | Unknown for the demo at the stated research date. |
This comparison is intentionally conservative: it separates what is documented from what would require a hands-on test. The absence of a Deck rating should not be converted into a claim about frame rate or battery endurance.
Demo timing, full release, and what may change
Cybernetic Walrus released the demo on October 13, 2026, and announced the full game for Steam on October 30, 2026. The full-game announcement does not establish that the demo’s system-requirements block will remain unchanged. A larger content set, new features, optimization changes, or updated middleware could alter storage or hardware requirements.
Best Value
- 512 GB NVMe SSD: Fast storage for quicker game load times and space for larger game libraries.
- OLED Display: 1200x800 resolution with deep contrasts and vibrant colors for a captivating visual experience.
- Custom AMD APU: Power-efficient Zen 2 CPU and RDNA 2 GPU for desktop-level gaming performance.
- Expandable Storage: Add more space with a microSD card slot, ensuring you can bring even more games with you.
- Versatile Controls: With built-in thumbsticks, trackpads, and touchscreen controls, you have full control over your gaming experience.
The game’s advertised collection contains 1,809 cards, while the demo contains 369 cards. Those counts describe the available collection content, not a direct measurement of installation size or performance. They are useful for distinguishing the demo from the planned full release, but they should not be used to calculate the final storage requirement.
Before buying or installing the full game, open the current Steam listing and look for a separate full-release requirements section and an updated Deck category. Until those appear, the demo’s figures should be labeled as demo requirements and the Deck status as Unknown.
Quick Recap
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
- Calling it Verified because it is sold on Steam. Distribution through Steam does not imply a Deck rating. Check the explicit compatibility badge.
- Treating Unknown as Unsupported. Unknown means no published result, not a failed test.
- Using the demo requirements as final requirements. The full game had not launched when these specifications were documented.
- Comparing only component brands. “Core i5,” “Ryzen 3,” “Radeon,” and “GeForce” cover many generations and performance levels. Use the complete model number.
- Ignoring free space after installation. Leave working room beyond the stated 6 GB so Steam can download and apply updates.
- Assuming a Deck test from an unrelated Windows game. Compatibility depends on the specific title, build, controls, display behavior, and updates.
What to recheck after launch
- Open the full game’s Steam store page and confirm whether it has its own minimum and recommended requirements.
- Look for a changed Steam Deck category rather than relying on screenshots, old search results, or the demo’s badge.
- Verify the listed storage requirement against free space on the exact drive or Deck storage device you will use.
- If the category remains Unknown, decide based on your tolerance for testing and refunds instead of assuming either success or failure.
